I'm not sure where else to put this, but if anyone is a knitter or crocheter, there is a group collecting 12"X 12 squares in the team Humbolt colours that will be made in to blankets for the families, survivors, billet families , first responders etc, PM me if you would like more details

tiffrobot , as a Saskatchewan person, do you actually use the term "bunnyhug" or is that just internet urban legend? Oh, that’s real. I remember growing up and finding out other places DIDN’T call it a bunnyhug and I thought it was so weird! I and everyone I know still uses the term, despite now being vastly exposed to the online retail world from out of province referring to them as a “hoodie” 😉 This is amazing.

misskilljoy, I can confirm that the term bunnyhug (and it's usage) is not just an internet myth. It's very much used by everyone I know here (myself included) and has been for as long as I remember I just learned about the term bunnyhug and it makes me giggle every time. So Canadian.

I just really love the term bunnyhug but have never known anyone from Saskatchewan to ask if it's actually a thing people say, haha. PDQ I hope this brings you great joy POOF

And I love the support that Humboldt is getting right now. This tragedy has rocked me and this thread has been so uplifting.

tiffrobot that drawing just gets me in the feels. I grew up...not far from Humboldt (no skin suiting please), I don't know anyone personally involved in the accident, but do know people who did and the outpouring of support this province has seen is beyond anything I've ever seen. It's been amazing.

Thanks for this thread Tlex It makes me realize how little of Canada I have actually experienced. We are heading to Calgary this summer and I’m getting excited about where we can explore this time.

Some dorm mates from University were from Sask, and was amazed that we didn't know.

I don't think it's made anymore sadly.

misskilljoy I absolutely love that pic, was a little emotional when I first saw it too! Yes, Vico was more from when I was a kid. I still hear my mom say it once in awhile.

We’ve had ours out. My BFF lost her BIL and my cousin lost 4 of her high school students. It has been just unimaginable. But driving down my street in MB I have been in tears every day seeing all the sticks out and it feels like everyone cares. After our neighbour saw us lighting candles he went inside and got some for his front porch too. It means so much.

Oh. And bagged milk. I don't know if the west has it? But here in the maritimes, it's very much a thing. Plus, it seems to be about $0.25 cheaper to buy 4L of bagged milk than it is to buy a 4L jug. At least in my city. It's weird.

Coming to this late, I figured Ontario, South West of Toronto would be abundantly represented. Guess not. People often call this region the armpit of Canada, but I’ve lived here pretty much all my life (except for my four year stint in Eastern Ontario while in university) and I love it. This is Goderich, called the Prettiest Town in Ontario. This is Elora My H and I hit up wine country in the Niagara Region approximately every other year, such a relaxing spot for a getaway. A beach not far from where I grew up. And the Eastern Ontario town where I went to university.

kittyriot, Goderich is the town that had that awful tornado a while back, right? I worked with someone from there and she told the nicest stories about that town. Seems really lovely to visit.

Correct! When I was looking for Goderich pictures I found tornado picture after tornado picture. But I wanted to show how pretty the spot is. My family loves it up there, they have a Celtic Festival in the summer with a pretty intense music school component to it. My cousins formed an Irish show band a few years back and they go every year to grow their skills. It’s a really cool event.
