Who has them?? What do you always dream about??
I used to have a reoccurring dream that I missed the bus for school. I had this long into my 20s.
For the past year or so, I keep having a dream of being in an elevator and something going wrong. Like it plunges to the ground. Or it somehow turns upside down and plunges. Even more interesting - yesterday I had a dream about the elevator, only this time there were 2 people who got on the elevator that went over the maximum weight for it and we plunged down and then came right back up and the door barely opened for me. Super weird...
When I look up what this could mean I get the following: “It represents the ups and downs of your life. It symbolizes that your emotions are out of control. You feel you are stuck in some aspect of your life.” - I can definitely relate in a lot of ways to this. Career wise I’ve been struggling and personally I’ve been struggling.
So what are you dreaming about lately??

When I was a kid, I would have recurring dreams of being in my bedroom late at night and having to run across the hall to the bathroom.
Except a monster made out of brown grocery bags was also in the hallway, which I guess was the most terrifying thing my child brain could think of.

I always have a reoccurring dream of being in school and forgetting my locker combination. Or it’s the day of exams and I realize I haven’t been to the class all year.
I also dream almost every night of some or all of my teeth falling out. I think I read it is related to anxiety which makes sense.

I have one that is always a little different overall but with a recurring theme. I don't even know how to explain it or where my brain comes up with it. Basically there is this gum-like substance in my mouth that I have to keep pulling out in big clumps, it sticks to my teeth and gums. Weirdest damn thing. In the dreams I'm always convinced it is a tumor or something, but no one believes me when I tell them about it. Last night I almost had my mom to where I was going to show her, and then I woke up.
Clearly I have an oral fixation because I also frequently dream about my teeth breaking and falling out. I know that one is anxiety-related.

I have a semi-recurring dream about moving out of my first apartment and how it seemed like it would never end and there was always MORE STUFF and things to clean.
When i was a kid I had one about spiders all the time.

These are both of my recurring dreams, though I haven't had one in a while. I don't have the exam dream but I have the locker combo dream, or I'll be in school just getting out of a class and I have no idea where I'm supposed to go next. Like, I don't know my schedule or how to find out where to go.

I'm not having any good pregnancy dreams this time. It's a bummer but probably means that I'm sleeping pretty well.

I think some of those anxieties are getting better because in my dreams now I'm at the exam and I have a pretty good attitude about it. It is often morphing into me walking into my defence without slides, but I basically look at my examiners and I'm like, "Sure, let's do this." and get started.

Ooh. I can play here. Hi, parenting.
I have had a recurring dream for years that I had a baby and then I just forget to feed it. This happened even before we were TTC. Different scenarios and what not in the dream but in the end it was always that I had forgotten to feed the baby. For like, days. It felt very ominous.
I am happy to report that now that I have a baby I have not forgotten to feed her. I think it's actually all I do. Feeding myself, on the other hand, is a whole other story.

I have one that lets me know I'm more stressed out than I thought I was, if that makes sense.
It started in college. Everything is normal around me, but every limb might as well be made out of cement. It's exhausting just trying to move one foot in front of the other to walk or raise an arm. I wake up from these even feeling exhausted. It has gotten to the point where I know I'm in a dream now when it happens and can kind of tell myself that it's ok, this is just a dream. I'm going to wake up and be able to move again.

When I was a teenager I babysat for a family every saturday & sunday morning. I had dreams then, and up through my 20s, about not being able to get to their house. I would be walking there, and the faster I walked, the farther away I got - so the sidewalk would become longer as I walked faster. Once that faded away, the same theme was plugged into different scenarios - I would have somewhere important to be, where someone depended on me, and no matter what I did, I couldn't get there. The harder I tried, the farther away I was.
Also, I never speak in my dreams, so there would be times where I would need to relay life-or-death, important information to someone and I wouldn't be able to talk. Sometimes, nothing would come out, or sometimes, a jumbled mess of words would come out. Either way, it would be stressful AF.

I have a recurring dream involving tidal waves. The place and the people are different, but I'm always desperately trying to get my family to safety. I mentioned it once to my therapist and she said it can represent all the stress that I have built up crashing down.
I also have terrifying zombie dreams similar to the tidal wave ones where I'm just trying to keep my family safe.
I really wish I just had ones involving high school. I wouldn't wake up so utterly panicked that my family is dead.

MH doesn’t have dreams often but when he does, they are so logical and grounded in reality. Why are mine so strange? Running through tar, or constant changing scenes, random people are my parents.

I love dream discussion.
I also have the can't find the classroom dreams or I have to take a test when I forgot I had the class.
I tend to have same settings/places but different events a lot.

Couple other themes. One is I'm back to being a waitress and I can't get to my tables, they are all annoyed and need drinks and to order. That one drives my anxiety up on waking.
Also I am back in college and have skipped classes all semester, and it is final exam time.

When I was a kid, I had recurring dreams about a family of bunnies coming after me. I referred to them as the bad bunnies.
As an adult, I have recurring dreams about being in my mom's old house, trying to escape from something trying to hurt me, then running into my grandmother at the kitchen table who gives me a pep talk and I can make it through.

I dream that I am in labor, but when I wake up I just have to pee really bad. It happened twice last week.
I also dream often that I can't find my classroom.

Every winter I dream that I am back in my show choir group and we are at competition. It used to be awesome but as I age, I also age in the dream. Haha. So this year I was pregnant while trying to keep up with everyone. I was in show choir for 8 years so it’s just my mind missing it I think.
I also dream about missing a whole semester of classes.
There’s also always a very bloody, vivid dream about my family being in an accident right every time I’ve conceived. I always test after those. Other dreams kind of become fuzzy but those dreams I remember every detail of.

I'm pretty sure I'm just an anxious mess based on my recurring dreams. I also have the broken teeth or teeth falling out dream periodically like some of you.
For a variation on the "surprise" exam one, I have a few versions where either a) I'm giving a presentation for work and EVERYTHING goes wrong, or the content is wrong, or I forget what I'm supposed to say, etc. or b) I'm in some kind of performance venue for color guard, and realize I have no idea what any of the choreography is, where I'm supposed to go, or what I'm supposed to do.
One of my worst recurring ones is where DS is elsewhere, I can't locate him, we don't know where he is, or I physically can't get to him somehow. A bunch of these are variations on apocalypse or weather-type situations. Each one of those ends with me waking up in a cold sweat, walking into DS' room and just standing there watching him for a couple minutes.

Sometimes I have a dream when I wake up, shower, do my makeup and everything. Then I wake up for real and I’m so disappointed I actually have to do all of that because it felt like it was done.
