In March of 2016 we closed, so I was 28 and MH was 27. We still live here, coming up on our 2 year anniversary of moving in.

I was 23 and H (BF at the time) was 27, purchased together despite not being engaged/married. We sold it after 5 years and made a huge profit due to updates and shifts in the market. Used it to build our new house we've been in now for the last year and half.

Still renting, since we move every couple years. Thanks Army. I'll be 36 this year and we're looking at finally buying a place

We were both 29 years old. For a long while there I never thought we would be able to buy - I was making like no money, and H was a perpetual grad student. Then we got crazy and bought with an FHA on my salary alone. It turned out ok, and we made money when we sold three years later to move to Chicago.

I bought my house when I was 30. I just sold it last week. We will be renting until we decide where we want to live in our new area.

We bought our first house at 31/32 but outgrew it. We still own it and rent it out, we also still live in the same neighborhood. It's been 12 years, we would like to either add a second story to it or take a match to it. Kidding. Sort of.

In the market to buy for the first time at 35. It's a HCOL hot market area and I kind of want to puke thinking about it all. I am pretty sure we will never find a place we agree on and/or win a bidding war. So we will rent forever.

I'm always looking at realtor.com though. If we have two kids we will need to move to a four bedroom house.

Yes but it is on the market now. SOMEONE BUY MY HOUSE. Good luck! Are you in a hot market area? Everything here is under contract within 10 hours. Hey if you've got 700k you can be my neighbor 😄

I was 30 when we bought our first house, we're in our second purchased home now and plan to be for the next several years. Eventual plan would be to build enough equity to build a home on some land and get out of the HOA neighborhoods. Dreams...

I bought my house at 30. It’s small but I loved the area and did a lot of school research. I’m still here 6 years later.
Soon to be H bought his house at 30. He still owns it but it’s being used as a rental property.
He moved in with me to this house. We will likely sell in a couple years to a bigger place in our same area.

I bought my first house at 29, on my own about 6 months before MH and I got married. We still live here and will never move. Housing costs in my area are really high compared to income and there is a housing shortage. It would be far cheaper to spend 200k renovating this place then moving to upgrade finishes. We plan to make improvements in the future, but it was new when I bought it and everything is fine- just boring builder grade. (We have lived here 9 years.)

We bought our first house, in my name (he had the down payment) when we were 26/27. We sold it to buy a business, and the contract fell through at the last possible minute. We love being here, but the rental income that property could have brought in rivals the potential we lost in the business...one bright spot, my portion of the escrow paid off all of my student loans, so at least we now have zero debt.
He then bought our current home as a vacation rental 5 years later and then we moved in after DD was born in 2013. If we had ever planned on moving here full time, there are a lot of different decisions we would have made, but we’ve been here for 4 years and don’t really want to leave, so I’m dealing with it, even though I would love to tear it down and start over. (Which is probably what we’ll do when it’s paid off in 7 years).

24 & nope, we only lived there a little over 3 years before selling & buying the house we're in now. We are currently in talk about selling again to get into a better school district. While not the worst, if we can do better, this is the time for us to do it.

We were way late to the house buying party. Grad school, housing boom, market crash, recession and then a plan to move from a hcol to a lcol area set us back. We bought in our late 30s and are in our forever house, unless we decide to downsize in retirement.

We bought at 30 and we're selling it this year at 33. Extenuating circumstances: military family. This was the first time buying made sense.
