I didn’t realize until lunch time that *tw* today is the anniversary of baby Owen’s death. The girls and I are going to visit his grave. I’d like to bring flowers but I don’t think they’d last long since there’s still snow on the ground and it’s supposed to be cold all week. The Jewish tradition is for everyone to place a rock on the grave. I don't follow too much of my traditions but I like this one b/c it doesn't die, and it doesn't matter what season it is. Just offering something else if you want to leave something there...

Think they'll believe me if I say I used the entire 8oz tube they just gave me yesterday so I need a new one? I think you might have misplaced it! 😉 Where the heck did you lay that tube down at? Because we had 3 different admissions in the first 6 weeks, plus a room change or two, each time we got a new tub of goodies, including the cream! And I had a nurse or two who encouraged us to snag what we could. Lol! And the tube lasts forever. I actually only bought more because the old ones expired, not because I ran out.

For those of you with girls, do you have 'make up' for them? Evie loves to use my make up. I don't mind when she puts on blush, because it's a very pale pink, but it drives me crazy when she uses my eye shadow because she doesn't apply it where it should go...or at least I don't think her eye brows are a good place for it. So I told her we would get her some of her own make up.

I just got the best...no, 2nd best job assignment for Friday. I shall be a bartender. The best would be to be one of the drinkers...but, I think my doctor would frown upon that 1 week post op. It's a training day for the LE. They do it once a year. They get non LE staff to volunteer to be drinkers. Then the LE put to use their Field Sobriety Testing training and technique. They asked me to be the bartender (just getting drinks for the drunks and making sure they drink up at the appropriate times.) Basically they are wanting to get them at different stages of their consumption levels. Should be a really entertaining day!

That’s hilarious lfig! The best we have in Probation is volunteering to be a criminal so officers can practice restraint techniques. And although I wouldn’t mind being restrained by some of the guys.... definitely not others!

She wants to apply it all around her mouth every 2.36 seconds and then stick things like Barbie feet into it. No. I don't wear any makeup though, so we don't have any in the house.

He coughed his way through his 30 min nap this morning and he’s currently coughing his way through this 2nd nap, as well. He’s always a happy boy though, just a little clingier than usual.

klong11 I wish Evie would be happy with chapstick, which she has some of that as well. She does tend to smear it all over her face. tgrimes Yeah, I'm still going to keep it in with my makeup, I'm just tired of her jabbing my eye shadow brush into the shadow. And applying it to her brow bone. And of course she likes the sparkly ones, that I only wear occasionally, but 4 year old doesn't need to be wandering around with blue glitter on her eye brows! I thought at Bday or Christmas time, some of us were getting the kids make up, but maybe I'm making it up. I do always make sure and tell her she doesn't need make up, that she's beautiful just the way she is. Although I don't know how I'm going to answer her when she asks why I get to wear it and she doesn't. Except for the typical, well, I'm a grown up answer.

You could get the play Disney princess makeup like they sell at target or just get her some cheap wet n wild stuff she can use with your supervision. H is also very interested in using my makeup. Oh correction, she also has fingernail polish. It washes off with water though and she rarely gets to put it on because I'm using it as a bribe to not bite her fingernails....it's not working.

Oh yes, finger and toe nails are always painted, which mine are too, so she learns from me. She does have her own nail polish, but it's cheap so it chips off in a day or two. I occasionally use my old OPI or Essie colors on her, but she doesn't bite her nails. I do not use the polish strips that I use that last for over a week on her!

That’s hilarious lfig ! The best we have in Probation is volunteering to be a criminal so officers can practice restraint techniques. And although I wouldn’t mind being restrained by some of the guys.... definitely not others! We also have days where they set up full on scenarios. It is all day long and they run each LE through individually. Some are more hands on than others. And occasionally the volunteer gets slightly hurt...nothing major. But they use air soft guns, and one time a volunteer was shot with the air soft and the way he turned his head his neck was exposed (he has a face mask, gloves, and lots of clothing on) and it hit his bare skin and caused bleeding. And one girl who was dressed in a taser suit had the same thing happen where a tiny spot was exposed and the taser probes went into her neck. They weren't on of course, but they were supposed to just bounce off the suit and instead went in her neck a bit. So luckily for me MH is the one who leads this course, so he gives me roles where I am not the target. Last time me and my "man" (who was a friends 16 yo boy) were arguing and he was "drunk" and wielding a gun. The officer shot him when he turned the gun on the officer and then I had to play the distraught wife who was screaming at the officer who shot him and had to act erratic, but not dangerous. So the officer had to first make sure they and all the bystanders were safe, then figure out how to deal with me, the erratic and upset wife, and administer emergency care to the gut that they shot. Not all scenarios are like that though. Some are set up as medical scenarios, rescue scenarios, or sometimes there is a scenario that nothing needs done. It is to keep them on their feet, and knowing that ANYTHING is possible. And that not every scene they are called to is going to be a bad one. My favorite was a few years ago. My "dad" had been bitten by a snake. So when the officer showed up to administer him care, my role was to be a flirt and distract him. So they had to figure out how to handle the scene while providing the best care. But the officers have no idea what they are going into so when they start talking to my "dad" and administering care, and I suddenly start flirting with them and rubbing on their neck and arms and telling them they have such nice muscles, ect....it was HILARIOUS their reactions.

mwhip, B has something like what trtlcrzy posted. It comes off super easy w water or a baby wipe. I also have an old tube of maybelline baby lips lip gloss that sits in my makeup drawer but is pretty much hers. She mostly wants to wear makeup when she sees me doing mine.

Dd looooves ‘applying’ make up. Dd is young enough to not realise I didn’t put anything on the blusher brush, the wooden lipsticks don’t do much and that holding mascara in front of her eye won’t work .

mwhip I buy my 7 year old the ELF makeup at Target. I got like 40 eyeshadow shades for $10. DH doesn't like it but I don't care, it's not like she wears it to school. She knows she only has one friend who she is allowed to use it with because I have discussed it with her parents.

I still buzzing. I’m in the train home from a concert and it was awesome! I danced my ass off, which is nearly impossible with most concerts we go to, and I had so much fun! If anyone is intrigued by reading this, it was Nathaniel Rateliff, soul with a very raw country/singer-songwriter edge.

RE: Make-up etc., my Evie has lip gloss, sticker earrings and necklaces in her jewelry box and that seems to make her feel fancy enough. I paint her and my son's toes and let them both put some blush on from time to time when I'm doing my make-up. Ev loves to get her hair curled, too. It's actually my teen I have to look out for. He steals all my good face masques. Cher gave me a good one as a secret santa gift and I only got to use it once.
