Temperature must have dropped like 20 degrees overnight. Back in our hoodies today, then it will climb back up, only to fall again on Saturday. So crazy. I'm so over the yo-yo weather. It stormed most of yesterday, but when it wasn't it was 71 and sunny. It's 35 today and snow flurries. WTH.

Poor H tgrimes. If it makes you feel any better one time I took H to the doctor on Friday and her ears were fine. I took her back on Saturday (or Sunday, I can’t remember for sure) and she had a double EI. So they can develop pretty quickly, and I’m sure with tubes in the signs that one is coming on is less obvious. klong11 I hope there are no more incidents today.

I just checked our forecast (as we currently have a few inches of snow on the ground from yesterday) and in the extended forecast I see 65! But not for like 2 weeks. This week it’s supposed to be in the 30s and 40s. Stupid snow.

sands42 Congrats on the house! When will you move? Did yh get the job with the better schedule? Also, i remember you saying that you were going to use your current house as a rental property. Will you still do that since you won’t be there any more or sell it? Sorry, a lot of questions but I’m super excited for you guys. We close mid-May. I’m not 100% sure when we will move though. Definitely in the summer at some point. It depends on MH’s work schedule. If he can’t be home to do it we will probably have to have my BIL to come up and help me. We are still waiting to hear about that job... we know they won’t be hiring until May or June so not surprising that we haven’t heard yet. I’m still hopeful! We are keeping this house as a rental since it’s paid off... we just have to find someone to manage it for us. I assumed my dad would take care of it but my parents don’t want us to move so they aren’t being helpful in any way. 🙄

klong11 just to maybe your mind a little bit. Curiosity about each (private) body parts is very normal at this age with kids, playing doctors, asking ‘what does yours look like?’ are things that happen often at this developmental stage. Not saying you shouldn’t talk to the director or anything, just trying to ease your worries.

Anyway, good morning. Everyone is fever free as of right now. I’ll still keep tabs on it as the day progresses because H feels a touch warm. DH got a call from the city asking about our basement. The guy says he doesn’t have our framing inspection. I hope he just misplaced it because if we have to tear out all the drywall I will cry. So much time and money down the drain.

Good morning. I went to bed at 11 last night but am more tired today than yesterday. I think I’m skipping lunch and napping. We are having a blast in NOLA but still have two nights to go so I need to rally.
Last night we went to an outdoor art market and there was an artist that does pet portraits so I commissioned one of Max. They are a little cartoonish but I loved them. And they ship. In 8 weeks I’ll have a Max painting.
The food here is amazing. I don’t know how everyone isn’t 1000 pounds here. Everything is so rich!
The training itself hasn’t been that great so I hope it’s better today. Great networking though and I’ve made lots of friends from all over.

Not saying you shouldn’t talk to the director or anything, just trying to ease your worries. I have a problem with it even if it is a "developmental stage". No one should be walking up to my child telling her to pull her pants and panties down and then continues to tell her repeatedly after she tells them no. This is not ok. Clothes stay on. Teachers should be watching and making sure these types of "games" are not going on. it is not ok.

klong11 no is no, always and yes teachers should be aware of these games and explaining what boundaries are.

Morning Ladies! I was at a PTO thing last night to finalize some designs for the learning resource center at my kindergardener's school. My son was so curious about the meeting and begged to come with. He was so well-behaved and spent the time drawing pictures of his principal and the LRC director to give them or quietly reading a book. I can't say that's always typical behavior for him, so I'm glad he chose last night to be on his A game! I've still got a bunch of kids to come through that school, so good impressions are helpful 😉

I went to wake up E this morning and our snuggling turned into an extra hour of sleep. I didn't mind even if I was late to work. The wind was really bad last night and I barely slept anyways.

tallb. I believe you asked me what the fluid in the ear looked like. When he woke up this morning I noticed his ear get wet. When I looked in it I could see some fluid so I wadded up a Kleenex and stuck it in his ear. So much stuff came out and it just kept coming. Took m to school, came home and it looked like this again.

Morning. It's an ugly, gray day and I can't even appreciate that it's supposed to get to almost 60 degrees. And we're getting mixed rain and snow Friday and Saturday, which is really unfortunate since I have a 22 mile run planned for Saturday. I can't fathom doing that on the treadmill so hopefully it isn't too bad.
Anyhow Colin came into our room this morning already dressed! TBH he was head to toe in varying shades of green, but I didn't have the heart to make him change. He was just so proud. Besides, it wasn't so bad. Also his hair has gotten quite a bit longer on top and I can't get over how nice his hair is. It's thick and straight but with some volume... I'm so jealous! Chase should be, too. That poor kid got his hair from me.
Chase started in a new class on Monday and it's going fine so far, except for drop-off, which fortunately is usually on DH. I hope he's settled down before the first time I have to bring them in. My whole mood goes to shit seeing him cry, even though rationally I KNOW he's fine 2 minutes after I'm gone. Kids, man...

So I ran into a friend last night at swim lessons. About 2yrs ago she watched E for a day when our daycare closed for flooding. When I showed up to pick E up there was a firetruck there and they were sitting in her SUV. The carbon monoxide alarm went off. The fire department cleared the house and told her to get new batteries for the detectors. Well fast forward to this winter, the whole family is sick and not getting any better, her daughter (about 4) complained of constant stomach issues. Turns out there was a crack in the heating element and there has been a CO leak this whole time!!! THe only saving thing for them was that they keep a window open upstairs because it gets too hot. Although that may have also prevented the sensors from working too. I just can't imagine! I just kept thinking about the family from Iowa that died in Mexico. Please make sure your CO detectors are working!

That happened to me when I was in high school, tgrimes. It was a rip roaring good ear infection, and it felt and sounded like I was underwater. If you haven't scheduled an appointment with the ENT for today--this morning, even--take that sweet baby in!

A local friend of mine lost her son, DIL, and four grandchildren to CO two years ago, and our community still feels the repercussions. After that, I'm terrified of it.
