Oh geez you guys- I’m in a natural type mom group on facebook.... this lady still breastfeeds her eight year old daughter. And it’s her only kid so it’s not like she’s even nursing littler ones too. 🤔 🤦🏼♀️

Talked to my OB and they are going to try to keep her cooking until 36 weeks, just depends on how much my contractions pick up and if I start to have signs of infection.
I have what is probably a very stupid question. Dude went straight into NB clothes and X hardly had any. I brought NB stuff for P.
I'm assuming NB probably is like 6.5-9 ish pounds, maybe?
If she's expected to only be 4.5-5 pounds will she be absolutely swimming in those? Should I have Pete pick up preemie things?

You can always Amazon prime or have someone run out for a few things once you see how big she is? I hope you can make it a bit longer! They told me I had a 50% chance of delivering in the first week after my water broke, most likely in the first 48 hours.

cagoldi, this is random but you may want to start looking at preemie formula options just in case since I know you use specific formula. They have A on Enfamil EnfaCare.

My kids were 7 lbs and newborn was big on them. I say at least get some preemie white onesie undershirts if you think you’ll need more in preemie size, you can always get more. I think Carters is still doing free shipping today.
Eta: no free shipping. I was thinking of the email from yesterday. Sorry!

Awesome news about the house sands42! I hope it works out! Can't wait to hear! Re dentist, E's first appt 6 months ago was a shit show. She refused to let them take xrays, she wouldn't let them put the paper in her mouth even, she was good for the hygenist, but when she left to get the dentist and didn't come back for 15 minutes, they had completely lost her. I was surprised, for a pediatric dentist, that they would leave a (then) 3 year old that long. She was supposed to go a few weeks ago for her check up and I had to reschedule, then again last Tuesday, which I also rescheduled. She goes middle of April and seems excited, so hopefully the next visit will be better. jewels I need to shower every morning too, otherwise I don't feel completely awake. I also feel like I sweat easier if I shower at night. Extended breast feeding at 16...that's so weird to me. Like, that 16 year old is exploring their own sexuality very likely.

I literally can't imagine breastfeeding a 7 year old. Let alone a 16 year old. I'm all for everyone doing what works for them, but that's a bit much. And like what 16 year old wants to breastfeed???

I mean, I didn't get along with my mom very well at 16...sometimes conversations were difficult. So I just can't imagine.

3 of my 4 best friends are available Friday evening, so I guess I'm having them over. I already regret it...now I have to clean and figure out dinner. I might see if I can take the afternoon off, although I'm already off on Monday.

I think what lost Cadence was they took us to the rooms for braces and the stupid dragon doll with teeth isn't in those rooms. She was apparently looking forward to seeing it again and brushing it's teeth.

cagoldi hopefully she’ll stay but, but I’d definitely get some preemie clothes. Dd was a little under 5lbs and ds was around 6.5 and for both newborn sizes were (way) to big. Also get some preemie size hats, ds had a tiny head and al the newborn hats looked ridiculously ginormous on him.

cagoldi Does this mean you'll stay in the hospital? Yep, stuck here indefinitely. They changed course on the plan and tested me for GBS. If it's positive, they will induce Friday morning. If it's negative, they will induce me next week. They decided I'm too high risk for infection because of the PID to wait much later than 35 weeks. I'm on 6 different ABX right now. 😐

Hadn't thought of that yet but it's a good idea, thank you. I don't think soy formulas are recommended for preemies but I need to look into it.

It was smothered in gravy and they made sure to tell me that was vegan. Okay? But I can't eat it but you dumped it on an animal? And do people even eat gravy on fish? Hork.

cagoldi , they just choose what you eat? Both times I was in the hospital, I got to pick from a menu. Of course, I'd imagine the only vegan choices were probably salads, fruit or cereal without the milk. Do you have a fridge in your room? Can YH bring you some stuff so you don't starve?

Oh what I wouldn't do for A fridge in my room! I'm going to need to pick for dinner. They have it in their system that I'm vegan but once again, people somehow think that means I eat fish? I don't get it.

A beurre blanc sauce, yes? Gravy, no.

cagoldi, how are you feeling? I remember that first day being so so SO overwhelming. Do they have a NICU doctor come talk to you? They did for us and it really put us at ease. I felt such a weight lifted off after. We were still worried, but felt so much more comfortable with him coming early, even at 31 weeks in our case.

At our hospital you get to pick an entree, 3 sides and 2 drinks. My go to is chicken nuggets, potato wedges, a fruit, vanilla frozen yogurt with resess peanut butter cups and 2 la croix. I'm sure vegan options are limited, I really hope they don't include a fish...
