@kelltothekell , you're over halfway! Do you know the sex? Mine is a girl - I'm excited and also nervous about that. I'm 33 weeks now and definitely feeling large. Also slightly panicked because I have basically nothing ready for baby yet. I at least need to find the infant car seat and bassinet.
The toddler sleep issues are continuing and the past few nights MH has fallen asleep in bed with the toddler around 9 pm. Not so bad for me because he deals with the middle of the night wake-ups. I'm considering putting a time limit on LOs naps - maybe 1.5 hours? - and seeing if that helps. Sometimes he sleeps that much but often it's more like 2-3 hours. Maybe that's too long? Maybe he'll grow out of it? I don't know.
Do I need a double stroller? I kind of want a baby jogger city select lux, but is it worth the $$? Will it feel too bulky to push around? Should I just get a double umbrella? Is it realistic to just push the toddler in the stroller and wear the baby until she's big enough for an umbrella? I have a city mini gt and I much prefer that to the umbrella stroller for walks, so I'm thinking it's probably worth it to get a full size double. I've thought about just getting a glider board too, but I don't think the toddler is big enough to not have a seat.

tinydancer - Dd1 and dd2 are 22 months apart, and I wore dd2 and pushed dd1 in the single stroller for the first few months. I was torn between getting a “real” double stroller and an umbrella, and ultimately I decided on the Maclaren Twin Triumph. Still an umbrella, but a bit more sturdy and a smoother ride. The regular doubles are just SO big and heavy that getting it in and out the car seemed like a hassle. Plus, I wanted something narrow enough to fit through a standard size doorway.

tinydancer. We are having a boy! We haven’t done anything to get ready because it feels so far away but I know time will fly! We really need to start working on getting dds room ready. We are going to keep crib etc in nursery for new baby and move dd to big girl room. I’m torn on a nice double stroller too. I think it really hinges on how much you’d think you would use it? Let me know what you go with! We have the citi mini get now and like it. We haven’t used our stroller much lately but that’s because the weather is just now getting better. Dd sleeps through the night now but never in her crib! Only in bed with us. I am the one falling asleep with her at 9. I just pass out. We are hoping she will sleep in a big girl bed in her room........ we shall see. Plan is to lay down with her and then leave when she falls asleep. Dd is starting to drop naps here and there but I feel like she still needs them because she doesn’t sleep that many hours at night..9/. 9:30-6:30 is about her usual. We try to move bedtime back but she rarely falls asleep before 9.

Dd does fall asleep faster and earlier when she misses her naps so you may be onto something there... she’s also kind of hard to deal with though but that’s totally missing a nap vs shorter nap.

We were just at Trader Joe’s, and dd2 was riding in the cart, and dd1 was walking. While I was busy grabbing something off the shelf, dd1 climbed up on the side of the cart and tipped it over onto herself - with dd2 in it, too!
Luckily everyone seems fine, but it was pretty freaking traumatic for everyone. They were both hysterical in the produce section for like 10 minutes. A Trader Joe’s employee brought us flowers.
I was so busy trying to be calm so they would calm down I didn’t have a chance to freak out about it, but oh my godddddddd. That was scary.

We had a different kind of scare today. After feeling fine, dd woke up with a 104.9 fever! Went to dr and it’s strep. Glad to have a diagnosis and medicine. It was crazy though! I thought about potty training this weekend but I guess we won’t. Dd seems ready. She’s pees on potty a lot and today she pooped on potty unprompted.

And now dd2 has a rash covering her tummy and sides. It’s hurting her so badly she refused to get jammies on and is sleeping in just a diaper.
Tiny red bumps everywhere. Sounds familiar anyone? I’ve been google Image searching rashes and... it’s not pleasant! 🤢
If it’s its not better tomorrow I’ll call the pediatrician’s office, luckily they are staffed over the weekends.
Fun day over here! Ha

nellieoleson, so scary with the cart! I'm glad everyone's ok. I hope dd2's rash clears up. Did she have something new, is it some sort of allergy? @kelltothekell, hope the medicine kicks in soon. Strep is no fun. A mom friend of mine told me today that she had the lux and loved it, so I'm leaning towards that. It's a tandem stroller because I had the same concern about fitting through doorways or down sidewalks, and I think I'll mostly use it to walk places from our house so hopefully I won't have to get it in and out of the car too much. We'll see though, I'm sure it'll be a bit of a beast no matter what.

@kelltothekell sorry about the sick kiddo nellieoleson glad everyone is ok! I am so living vicariously through all you guys having more babies. I even have moments where I think fondly about being pregnant.

Omg you guys, I'm dying. We started moving the store in at my new job. So all day Friday (after running around on Wednesday and Thursday) I was on my feet for almost 8 hours straight. Yesterday I was sore, but not awful so I went to an antique show with my sister, mom and some of her other bridesmaids and then went to the mall with my BFF, worked again today. Now I can barely move. I'm giving myself permission to not work out tomorrow, I'm currently loopy on robax, and H is going to put heat rub on me when we go to bed. Hopefully I'm feeling better in a day or 2.

@lolliop I always find that any change of routine throws me. When I start teaching in the fall my voice always goes after a day or two and my feet kill me. It takes a little time to build up my stamina.

nellieoleson tipping carts are my biggest fear in a store. Trader Joe’s and fresh thyme have such tiny carts and they tend to be top heavy. I’m glad your girls are ok!

It takes a little time to build up my stamina. I'm actually feeling good today. Yesterday I felt ok when I got up, so I went to the gym and just sat in the massage chair instead of working out. I was a little sore from general bending and lifting last night, but this morning I went and worked out and I still feel ok. My feet will probably be sore after my shifts for awhile, but we won't be lugging boxes and doing quite so much moving and lifting and stocking from now On, so it shouldn't get as bad as it was Sunday night.

Hey guys! I am on the road again. Without L 😳 this is the first time I will have spent more than 2 nights away from her. Eek. It's the end of our nursing career too. Boobs are killin meh. Hubs is doing a great job holding down the fort though so might as well enjoy the bed to myself. What fun things do you guys have planned for this summer? I really want to find a littles swim class. Any other fun ideas? What about self care? I have been hosting a yoga class at the barn on Saturday's. It's been fun to do something for myself for a few minutes.

kcrkcs, Congrats on your nursing journey! We are winding down but still trucking along. It's mostly just before bed now and before nap on the days I'm home (three days a week). ENjoy the time to yourself! I've only spent one night away as well but I'm thinking I should take a long weekend trip with DH before new baby gets here! We will probably go the same places this summer as we do in the winter except more park and other outside time. Our city has a fun little splash pad park for littles that we didn't try out last year that I'd like to do. We are also going to a neighboring bigger city (two hours away) to do something fun. Maybe zoo or something similar. My DD LOVES horses and animals. I want to find a place where we can get her up on a pony or something. I need to look into that!!! INterested in a petting zoo type place as well with farm animals. We also have two trips planned. Visiting DHs family on the east coast and the beach with my family. The yoga class sounds amazing. I did yoga regularly before DD and haven't picked it back up. I really miss it. I want that to be a goal for after new baby.

We're probably going to do a few camping trips this summer. Other than that I don't think we'll really do anything special this summer. H and I might take a weekend to ourselves for our anniversary.

kcrkcs enjoy the quiet time! great job on nursing too. It’s amazing how quickly it ends when it’s over isnt it? We spend the majority of our summer outdoors. We always walk in the morning and that usually ends at a playground. We go to the zoo more too. Afternoons are spent out back with our playset, water table/splash pool, sandbox and trampoline. I have a freaking daycare in my backyard. Neighbor kids usually join us. Currently we have 11 kids 1-6 between 3 houses so it can get crazy fast. Basically I just buy all the freezie pops for the kids (cheap!) and sit back with some la croix. I have started showing houses and am returning to my pt gig at the Y in a few weeks. This time around did NOT feel like maternity leave at all. It feels like someone literally threw me another baby and walked off. I’m having good days and bad. Good days are great and bad days are very bad. Dh and I need to have a hth soon bc I can see this going south quickly. Dh is getting a V on Friday. I have VERY mixed feelings about that, but we cannot have 5 kids so it’s time. New chapter and new beginnings and all that. I miss you ladies. If anyone is in my area this summer pm me, I’d love to meet up.

dizzycooks your backyard sounds awesome!! You are a busy lady. Hope you get some time to put your feet up and relax. We are thinking about getting a swing set. I’m looking forward to hanging outside this summer!! We had a fun day hiking, growing rocks in a creek and out for lunch. We head on vacation to see the in-laws this week.

I miss you ladies like crazy!!! Life has been hectic. We had a big teacher walkout after a lot of pushing on our governor/legislator for more public school funding. Long story but it’s been a loooooong time coming. Anyway I got way sucked into that issue and school was out for 6 days. Between that and work it’s been crazy. We are now on a long planned vacay celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary...with kids! 😂 What were we thinking??

dizzycooks, hugs! I’m sorry you haven’t had any time to really adjust with any sort of help plus it sounds like you are working. Which is exciting yet also very soon after giving birth. I hop DH can step up and maybe give you a day off here or there.

Whew. Going from working zero hours a week (aside from SAHMing) to more than 24 in 4 days is a lot. My feet are killing me. I have many many blisters, because working at a shoe store means I have to wear nice looking shoes, but all of the nice ones I have aren't very broken in because they give me blisters so I never wear them. Also, Thursday, Friday, and yesterday I did 14000+ steps each day. Today was significantly less because I was on cash most of the day, so I was on my feet, but standing still.
On the plus side, I don't have to worry about being able to make my car payments, and I like most of the people I work with. I haven't had a chance to check out the mall I work in yet, but my sister and I are going to take M on Wednesday to poke around for a bit.

Also I need to be super judgy for a minute. On the drive home today I saw a car with little kids, like probably 6-7 and at least one of the kids was standing up in the moving car sticking her head out the window! I was appalled and I couldn't do anything because they turned one way as I was turning ther other. I seriously hope they pulled over ASAP and got her straightened out.

Glad the new job is working out! Hopefully your feet adjust soon. I have thought a lot about how hard it would be to adjust to working outside the home — it sounds like you are handling it really well. I’m happy for you.

dizzycooks - we are coming to MN this summer, but it looks like we will be up in Walker where my IL’s live the whole time. kcrkcs - yoga in the barn sounds amazing! You are amazing! I’m trying to be better at self care, but with my H’s unpredictable/crazy schedule it’s impossible to plan things ahead of time and I often forget to take advantage of the time I do have when it suddenly come up. Only 16 more months until dd2 is in preschool twice a week. Haha I just started a DietBet (my first one ever...) to try to lose a little winter pudge so my shorts fit better. We’ll see how that goes.........

My mom wouldn't let us sit in the front seat, but her cousin's kids were always jumping around in the car, standing on seats and just generally being unsafe. I'm enjoying the job so far. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm still on an upswing mental health wise, and I'm pretty sure when it swings back down I'll be struggling hard with working and dealing with the kids and finding balance. The one really good thing is that I can book time off from my phone or computer without having to speak to the manager or anything, so I'm more likely to actually book the time because I don't have to talk to anyone which usually makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing people lol.

Yeah the car seat thing is crazy. Even when my brother was little (he's 40), not everyone did car seats. When my Mom was little it was not a thing, and neither were seatbelts!! I feel lucky to even be here. When my Mom was a tiny baby, my grandma was holding her in the front seat and they got into an accident. My grandma (holding my baby Mom) were literally ejected from the car and landed just sitting up. How crazy is that!
I am working from home today which is so nice and then leaving for vacay Wednesday! I hope it's fun.... visiting the in-laws can be interesting... we had people over last night for a bbq. it's been in the 80s here!!! It was fun but we literally spent the whole day getting our house and yard ready beforehand. it needed to be done, but long day!

I was just in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner and heard dd2 coughing and gagging from the next room. I thought she was choking on something random she found.... nope! She had grabbed my wine glass and taken a huge gulp. Guess she’s not into rioja. Can’t really say I blame her. Haha

I'm going to just AW a bit - we did a mini mommy & me photo session in advance of mother's day, and we got some really sweet shots.
Poof
I'm feeling so sad that LO won't be my only baby anymore, and maybe I'm just projecting but I think he's feeling somewhat unsure about it too. I'm not worried about having enough love for both of them, but I do wonder how I'll be able to make enough time for everyone. I know it will all work out but it feels like a big adjustment.

tinydancer that picture is so adorable!!!!! I’ve heard so many moms talk about feeling like you do and I feel the same way. I know this isn’t particularly helpful but I’ve always heard those feelings just kind of disappear once the baby is born and it all works out. I’m banking on that anyway!
