I know yesterday was the 19th, but I like the look of starting a thread on a Monday date better than a Tuesday, lol.

DS had his 18 month appointment this morning and he stayed on his weight curve which is a big win for us! He's a peanut weight-wise and we had some issues early on with dropping percentiles so it always makes me happy to see him stay the same.
He gained a pound since his 15 month appointment and grew 1 1/2 inches which explains why his pants are all so short on him all of a sudden!! Dr was super happy with his growth and said developmentally wise he looks great.
Another group I'm in was talking about long daycare waitlists this morning so when I dropped DS off after his appointment I asked the director if she was expecting to have any infant openings next Spring. She jumped up and ran over to give me a hug and is going to save us a spot as long as we formally register by January. Nice big check on the #2 to-do list!!

Nymeria my DS is a tiny dude too! Yay for a good check-up! I was SO stressed about his weight the first 9-12 months of his life. He's stayed on his weight curve (after about 6-8 weeks old), but only in the whopping 8th percentile! That's just the way he is - tall and skinny! - and I don't worry about it anymore. He eats so much and still is little! I'm really hoping to not feel the weight stress with #2. Nice you've got a spot saved for daycare!

My DD is tall and skinny too. Never enough to be worrisome, but she's always been about the 15th percentile for weight. Our Dr. always says somebody has to be on the lower end!

Well, my DD was officially asked to be SO's brother's flower girl at their wedding! I'd be way more excited if it didn't look like that the wedding would be a week after my due date. 😑
Hypothetically speaking, if baby came right on due date, no complications, would you travel 4 hours away (for a few days) ONE week after giving birth? If not, when would you? Like 2 weeks? 3 weeks? One month? ðŸ˜

I don't care what the number is, I'm just so happy he stuck to it for a few appointments in a row! Weight can be so stressful - hopefully none of us have worries with these LOs!

Stressing about his slow weight gain early on also created my biggest challenge/stress with bfing. Because he was gaining so slow I was CONSTANTLY worried that my supply was inadequate. And that stress stayed with me long after he steadied on his curve. Considering that I've nursed well beyond a year, it's unlikely that I ever had a supply issue. The second half of our nursing relationship has been so much more carefree. I really hope that I will trust my body more with #2 after all I've learned.

pixiepink24 I would travel depending on how much help was available. If my mom was around and really helpful and I made sure everyone knew I might leave at any point/hide away. And I would make sure I was comfortable with having a place to nurse/pump. However, a week is not a lot of time if you happen to struggle with nursing. It was a huge ordeal with a syringe for a lot of the feeding last time and I would definitely not travel with all that crap and emotions. So basically that was not helpful at all lol.

For those of you that are able to stomach food, what are you doing for lunches?

For those of you that are able to stomach food, what are you doing for lunches? I'd been eating a lot of homemade chicken salad. Then I rotated in salads for a week. This week I'm going with good 'ol deli turkey sandwiches.

shawnspencerOk thanks! At least I didn't get an immediate "you crazy?" Response. Lol! I know I was still bleeding (obviously) and hurting a little after a week. Plus nipples hurt a good but then too. But I guess it wouldn't be *too* insane to do. Also, I do a lot of leftovers and grilled sandwiches for lunch.

Keep in mind a 4 hour drive will definitely take longer than that since I assume you'll probably have to stop at least twice each direction. I'm not sure I would have wanted to do a wedding all night at 1 week. I'd probably do the ceremony and cocktail hour then go back to wherever I was staying. Or go to the ceremony, take a break during cocktail hour if you're staying close by, then go back for dinner. I do not think you're totally crazy for thinking about it, but I'm also the person who is due the 20th and is currently planning to go to a concert on the 29th.

We traveled to my IL's house for Christmas a month after Nugget was born and that was a 3.5 hour drive and we stayed a few days. It was fine, although it helped we were staying home with family. Honestly I wouldn't schedule anything for a week or two after baby is born because there are just too many factors. Assuming you're allowed to go past your EDD you might not even have a baby yet, or you could have a CS and be still recovering from that, if you're breastfeeding the first few weeks can be pretty tough, etc.

pixiepink24 what would happen if when it came time you couldn't go? Would like yourmom take your daughter? I'd be hesitant just because both my boys were late. Was your first late? Typically the second is a little sooner than your first.

Typically the second is a little sooner than your first. DD came on her due date. I understand that it's a definite possibility that things don't go perfectly. But I guess I'm wondering IF baby is here by then with no problems, if it's insane. But this is my SO's brother so my family is not close to them at all. And honestly, they've never even watched my daughter before. So if we did go, I'd probably have to pay for my mom to stay at a hotel up there and help me with baby. Or SO would go without me and take DD, which I don't feel comfortable with. Or we say no to all of us and get shit for it forever. Which will happen....

pixiepink24 I think I would ask your SO's brother and fiancé if they'd be comfortable having a Plan A, if you can make it, and a Plan B, if you cannot. And they'd have to be comfortable not knowing which Plan until very close to the wedding! I personally would not be comfortable committing to something like that so close to when baby may arrive. Who knows how things will play out and how you'll be feeling at that time.

tbirdloveI agree, a conversation will have to occur once full details are set in stone. So far though, it seems like no one in his family thinks it's a big deal at all. 🙄

Well fuck. I had a few tiny spots of blood when I wiped this morning. Part of me is saying "oh it's fine cuz I totally had plenty of spotting with DD" and other part is freaking out thinking I feel stuff. So who knows. I'll monitor the situation and contact MW if I need to.

But rest and take care of your self..

I tried out some double strollers today. DS is quite tall already in all of them. He has maybe a couple inches before he'll be hitting most of the canopies. Is that just how it is with the older child in a double??

Watching a new show on Netflix called "Nailed It". A professional baker makes something and 3 home bakers compete to make the best copy of it. The results are pretty hilarious!

Is that just how it is with the older child in a double?? How old is your DS? Would a sit and stand be a better solution? We have the joovy caboose ultralight graphite which has been great especially as DS1 got too big for a traditional stroller seat.

DD loves baking shows so we've been watching it. We've only made it through two episodes. She's anxiously waiting for the episode where Yolanda Gamp is a guest judge.
