I tried out some double strollers today. DS is quite tall already in all of them. He has maybe a couple inches before he'll be hitting most of the canopies. Is that just how it is with the older child in a double?? How old is your DS? Would a sit and stand be a better solution? We have the joovy caboose ultralight graphite which has been great especially as DS1 got too big for a traditional stroller seat. He'll be 2y4mos when baby comes. I've looked at some Sit n Stand style options too, but I'm worried he'll still be a little too young for just a jump seat 😕 I don't really know what having a 2.5-3 year old is gonna be like! We use the stroller a lot in the warmer months for walks at the park and going to the zoo.

One reason we got the joovy caboose was because it had an extra seat thing you can get to out over the jump seat to make it like a double stroller. Also the jump seat has a lap belt so it help restrain them a bit lol.

The down sides of it for me was that DS wouldn't be able to see from the back seat, especially with a giant infant seat in front of him. I guess he wouldn't likely be sitting in it a ton, but when he is (and this probably sounds silly, but it's a big issue for me with #2 on the way) I don't want him to feel like he's been downgraded 😔 And I thought it generally seems a little more like an umbrella stroller than I'd like. He seemed to find the jump seat of the Bravo for 2 fun for a few minutes in the store, but that one doesn't turn into an actual forward-facing seat like the Caboose. There are just SO many choices and it seems that none of them are perfect.

I'm pretty sure that I've been feeling baby throughout the day (when seated or reclined) the past couple days. The early, subtle sensations are so different than I expected. I always hear people describe flutters or a fish swimming but it feels more squirmy to me! I keep randomly feeling the same squirmy sensation - it's gotta be it.

I'm wondering if my midwives will use a Doppler to try and hear a heartbeat at next week's appointment. Can you hear one in the 10th week? I don't remember if they do that yet.

tbirdlove I’ve started feeling movement too! So strange, just the past two days. Like being flicked from the inside 😊

pixiepink24 I had my first OB appt during week 10 and my Dr did an ultrasound. I was only expecting the doppler, so the ultrasound was a welcomed surprise. I figured maybe it was because it was too early to rely on the doppler alone. I'd already had an ultrasound during week 7 as well, so I don't think it was for dating purposes.

The first thing I felt with DS was like popcorn kernels popping up against the front if my belly! It was unmistakable that it was baby. I'm still questioning myself this time, but the fact that it's the same weird feeling, in the right location, at different random times throughout the day, has me pretty convinced!

They don't have ultrasound machines at the birth center so I know I won't be getting one of those this time. And I just had one last week. So maybe they will try the Doppler? Or maybe it will just be a boring appointment taking blood and such.... 🤷♀️

And there's always the good fun of peeing in the cup! Don't count that out!

Hope you have an easy flight blurnette989!! tbirdlove - That's exciting!! My early feelings with DS felt like a popping sensation, nut flutters either. Almost like someone was quickly poking me from inside (well, I guess that's exactly what was happening, lol). pixiepink24 - You can hear a HB at 10 weeks on a doppler, but it can still be difficult to find and hold on to so some practitioners may not try that early. My practice doesn't try any earlier than 12 weeks because your first real appointment with an OB or MW is your physical and they won't schedule that earlier than 12 weeks.

Just told my boss about this LO. I was never worried about his reaction but it's nice to have your boss just be happy for you. He even asked if I was going to work from home some days after my leave ended before I had the chance to let him know I'd like to do so again. Guess I did a good job working from home since he has no problem with me doing it again.

Good luck blurnette989! I feel like I haven't been around much, because I can't usually be on during work hours. My coffee (straight espresso) tasted weirdly sweet this morning and I don't think I did anything different when I made it. It was delicious!

I don't remember if they do that yet. 10 weeks is early to hear the heartbeat on a doppler, it can be hard to hear even at 12 weeks. Some midwives won't even try it because it can be upsetting if they can't find it even if you've been warned. My midwife tried at 12 weeks with my last pregnancy and couldn't find it and let me come back a week or two later and we finally heard it.

I feel like I might be feeling a little movement but I'm still questioning it. With DD it felt like muscle twitches all over. I never felt any fluttering. I had an appointment this morning and had to take DD with, she actually did pretty good but I'm hoping to schedule most of my appointments where I won't have to take her. It was so cute, when they used the Doppler and she heard the baby's heart beat she got the biggest smile on her face!

This morning my husband bought me a big chocolate milk and a doughnut. It was the best.
Everyday now M has been asking about the baby in my belly...... we haven’t told her anything yet. But yet she insists she’s getting a baby and it’s in my belly. It’s so odd how she knows.

Hope your flight is going well, blurnette989. It's 1:30 and I'm already worn out. DS slept in until almost 7:30 which was nice. Then I made him pancakes and took him to daycare. Went to the store for a few groceries and did a bunch of baking (3 dozen mini cupcakes & 3 dozen sugar cookies). Can it be bedtime yet?

DD was doing that in the beginning and she's been snuggling and kissing my belly so much but she has no idea. ETA: she also picked out a lollipop at the candy store today and I didn't see it until an hour later that it said "it's a boy" and it's blue. Lol!

Went to a meet the doula event at the birth center, it was basically doula speed dating. It was a little weird, but at least I know have information for several doulas in the area.

We're planning to take DS to an outdoor Easter egg hunt tomorrow morning. It's only going to be about 35° at that time. Seriously, fuck off winter.....

I'm a little sore today. I probably did some stuff I shouldn't have yesterday with the kids. But we had fun!
This morning we have my daughter's bff's bday party followed by a science festival, if rain holds off. I'm also hoping to start the three step process of dyeing my own hair. I really want fun Easter hair for next weekend.

Guys, SO's brother now asked him to be his best man!!! Wtf?!? Do they seriously not understand what birthing a child means?! I'm so so upset. Now I'm feeling like a shitty person because it's "my fault" that we all most likely can't go and missing a very big and important event. 😭 Such a huge bummer.

Unless the actual birth interrupts plans.

Definitely sounds like there needs to be a conversation that the more time they can give you guys after your due date the better chance you'll all make it and your SO can stand up with his brother.
