cara thank you for sharing. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I can't even begin to imagine how scary it must have been for you and your family. I'm sure you must know that having you and your DS surviving all of that is truly a miracle. I know doctors can make mistakes but your feelings and anger are completely valid and I know I would want answers as to how that all happened.

H felt the baby kick on the outside tonight. And I was laying there, watching my belly move as she shifted around. I don't remember being able to see movement until much later with DD, until the end of the second tri/early third tri at least. Kinda crazy. cara, hugs. That sounds extremely rough and you have every right to still be angry. cornflakegirl, before my first pregnancy, I used to sleep in my contact lenses (shudder) but while I was pregnant, my eyes got so dry and I couldn't do it anymore. So I take them out every night since then. And with this pregnancy, I'm taking them out earlier every night because of the same reason. I would just switch to my glasses on the days I stay home, but my glasses are really old and fall down my face and I hate them.

cara that sounds terrifying! I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm glad your DS is alright now. I have to agree with your doc that a C-section is probably the safest way for this baby to come.

cara I'm really sorry that you had to go through that. I had to stop wearing contacts when I was pregnant with DD and it never really got better. If a pile of money magically falls into my lap I'd like to get lasik when I'm done with babies.

What I thought was my maternity pants hurting yesterday is just a constant top of bump ache/bruised feeling. Between that and the unrelenting heartburn I am really feeling over everything at the moment. Luckily I have my repeat A/S today at 12:30 and I am going to just stay home and rest after that rather than coming back to work.

I had my H dig out my old maternity clothes last night. I was looking through them thinking, why did I pick these? *sigh* At least I still like the pants I had.

cara, That had to be so traumatizing. I'm even more shocked there aren't more notes in your chart about what happened. My chart even notes that the doctor didn't have gloves on for the delivery of my third. I know someone with a very similar birth story with her first. She went on to deliver three more children by c-section to avoid a repeat experience. Sounds like you're in good hands this time and will hopefully have a boring birth story to tell.

I don't recall belly button pain but I had the same issue with my contacts with DS pregnancy. I actually only wear them when I work out now because the dryness never went away. 😕 I don't mind wearing my glasses at home but I like to wear my contacts when going out, especially when in the car. I can't drive without being able to wear my sunglasses. Yeah it gets annoying but I'm used to it now. If I'm going out on the lake or like the zoo I will wear them so I can wear sunglasses, but I've accepted I'll likely be stuck with glasses forever and ever.

I caught a cold dd had. It knocked me on my butt quick. I’m just trying to rest now, but when I lay down my throat is on fire. Ugh! Ugh hope you feel better asap. Hot beverages, cough drops, and lots of water helped mine a bit.

If a pile of money magically falls into my lap I'd like to get lasik when I'm done with babies. I've thought about lasik but was told my vision is bad enough I'd probably still need glasses, just a lower prescription. Idk if it's worth it to me if I still have to wear glasses/contacts.

Has anybody experienced pain with their belly button? I don't recall having this with DS. Also, I can only wear my contacts for a couple hours and then they start bothering my eyes. They start itching and get super dry, so annoying! What kind of contacts do you wear? I was the same way, but wore monthly disposable ones. I switched to the dailies and now I can wear them all day and be fine

cornflakegirl I definitely shopped around for a good price. The eye doc was the most expensive. I paid $170 for 3 months worth at BJs. It is cheaper if you buy more, but I don't wear mine every day. So the 3 months last me 6-8.

So my aunt & grandma want to throw a joint shower for me, my cousin, and my cousin's fiancée. Yay because then I won't be the sole center of attention. They want to do it at the end of May, I would be 28 weeks. That's not too early for a shower, right? My cousin will be 33 weeks then so they don't want to wait too much longer than that.

Repeat anatomy scan went well. They were able to see everything they needed to. Also my appointment went great even though it wasn’t with my normal doctor, so I am feeling very relieved.

Now they are going with June 2nd, so I'll be 29+2. I'm cool with that.

I think I might be one of the few pseudo crunchy moms on here so I don't know if anyone else is hiring a doula. We had one for dd and she was amazing. Alas we live somewhere different now and doulas aren't really a thing here yet. We interviewed one tonight but we would be her first clients and I didn't really click with her. Hmph. Back to the drawing board.

Back to the drawing board. I have never had one but know a few and I definitely see their value. I didn’t really know about them with my first two, and by my third, I was comfortable enough with the process and options to go it alone. I definitely understand the need to find someone you click with right away rather than force a relationship. That has to be frustrating for you to have so few options. I hope something works out for you!
