pbandjelly, that sounds really difficult to manage. I hope she has a change of attitude soon. Yah... She's a peach when it comes to this stuff.

I’m sitting in the OB office taking my 3hr early glucose test....so much fun. Starving and feeling jittery at the same time from too much sugar. Hoping I pass so I get a couple more months before starting 4x day finger pricks. I passed the early 3hr test last pregnancy, so fingers crossed!
Just got home from Florida and we are getting snow this afternoon 😭 School is closing mid afternoon, so I am getting very little work done today.

Ok travel question. Would you guys be ok with traveling for work at week 34? The trip would require me to fly from NYC to Seattle and then I would be there for a week (Sunday through Friday). I can get out of it but its a good opportunity to attend an event with one of my customers. The internet seems to think week 36 and beyond is the only thing to be concerned about. If it helps my last 2 were induced at 41 weeks+. I don't think I would go, but more because a cross country flight just sounds miserable being that pregnant.

Ugh, our shower and toilet in our master bathroom both clogged last night. We've had issues with our main sewer pipe in the past, so I'm worried this is part of a larger issue. About a year and a half ago, after hurricane Matthew, our downstairs toilet clogged and started spewing out tons of water. We had to replace most of the flooring on our first floor. It was a mess. I am terrified that the same thing could happen again, but on our 2nd floor. Luckily, I think DH was able to get everything unclogged this morning (I was able to use our master bathroom toilet with no problem). Still waiting on a plumber to come out and check everything out though. Fingers crossed that it is a simple fix and that we don't have another terrible toilet flood.
On the bright side, I was able to work from home today so that I could wait around on the plumber. And DH is getting to WFH this afternoon thanks to the 1 inch of snow heading our way.

Family drama can be the worst. Nothing like throwing pregnancy and a baby into the middle of it.

I feel sorry for all of the daycare providers and teachers working with overtired kids that haven't adjusted to the time change yet. DS didn't want to get up this morning and was a mess at drop off this morning. He also woke up randomly at 2:45am and was kicking his crib rails. I feel better today, but I'm still really run down. I stopped at Starbucks after two weeks of not going. Oh well. Preschool teacher here and I was REALLY dreading coming to work today. But out of a group of 24, only one boy has been "off". But he also had his birthday party at a bounce house place yesterday so he was super tired last night. 😉

I really want to enroll E into some type of preschool this summer, but the only place that actually responded to my email wants almost 500 a month for 2 half days a week. HAHAHAHAHA no. And a few others I've found want her to be potty trained by age 3. I don't see that happening either. Gaahhhh. She really needs the socialization, as it's just me and her every day, and at the park, she studiously avoids all other kids. Also, I feel like her speech would improve by leaps and bounds if she was around other people more. But cannot pay that much a month.

I'm appalled at how extra many of your IL's are. I'm sorry to those of you who have to deal with that! tarheelmom - GL at your glucose test!

Pregnancy brain and all. I would just tell her now that you don’t plan to attend. It’s not really fair to the guests who all show up for you with no idea that you weren’t on board with a shower. More drama now, maybe....just seems like a bad precedent to set by not putting your foot down before she inconveniences a bunch of other people.

We do a music class once a week that helps with socializing but I’d like more. The community college has a co-op preschool starting at age 3, but H won’t be 3 until next Oct.

I anticipate this summer being crazy with both kids home FT and new baby. I would kill to send one to daycare or camp even for a few hour, but alas it isn’t in the cards.

DS is speech delayed so I totally understand wanting the socialization. He's never been to daycare, first grandchild and all so I know that's part of it. We are starting pre-k in September, 2 days per week. The school offers speech therapy if he qualifies so maybe look into that if that's a possibility for you too. We go to a playgroup 2x a week but I wish I was better at making mommy friends so that I could have more play dates. Do you have any other local activities that you can sign her up in the meantime?

Today has been a terrible reflux day. Like full on even when I haven't eaten recently. 😭 I took a dose of gaviscon advance and I may buy some Zantac too. Since Prilosec did nothing for me at a prescription level dose, I won't even bother with it. Also allergies are kicking my ass and my throat is sore. Batting a thousand today.

I want to enroll her in gymnastics. There's a mom play group that meets up, but they have a membership fee and it's usually at people's houses and I'm very eh on going to someone's house that I don't know. We live on the faaaar side of town, so there's not a whole lot to do. The main thing is funds, since I'm not working, and now having 2 kids, we don't have a ton to spend. We're hoping to pay off one of the cars this winter, so maybe after that, we can afford it for at least a few days a week. The other place wants her potty trained by May in order to enroll her in the fall, which I think is ridiculous.

Maybe if they met up outside once the weather gets nice that might be an option. We still have to pay for pre-k in the fall which kind of sucks. MH just assumed that it was free 😂 Its interesting how different schools have different policies on PT. May seems kind of close but you could probably get it done by the summer😊

I think daycares are usually okay with no PT, but the preschools are a little more rigid around here. She's still not telling me when she has to go, and still wetting during her naps, so I don't know how ready by summer she'll be :/.
