notmoose sending positive thoughts your way. I'm sorry you have to worry about this. What did your doctor say?

notmoose sending positive thoughts your way. I'm sorry you have to worry about this. What did your doctor say? I haven't personally talked to him yet. They called him yesterday when I was monitored and he said bed rest at least until I see him. He said the same thing today when the nurse practitioner called him. Idk, hopefully I'll get some answers tomorrow. I'm having pressure now too, so that's not helping my worry.

notmoose I'm so sorry. Can you call your Dr. again? I don't have any experience with early contractions or even BH I could feel (my kids have to be kicked out of my uterus) but your worry seems really reasonable and you should call until you get answers that calm you down.

The daycare we toured this morning was leaps and bounds above the one we saw yesterday. It's more expensive, like $5k more over the course of 5 years, but what they offer and the quality was astounding to me. I think we're going for it. The other place would have been fine for a couple years, but we might as well start him in the best place if we can.

Yes, with the pressure you're feeling in addition to the BH, I would call back notmoose.

notmoose what time is your appointment tomorrow? I hope the pressure stops. That might warrant another call to them, they might want you to be monitored again. I'm thinking of you.

notmoose, I'm so sorry the contractions have you so stressed and are getting worse, not better. I hope you're following doctor's orders and resting. Definitely go straight to the hospital is you feel its warranted. You know best.

Our current center told me this afternoon they would have an infant spot for us. I was so relieved, I cried and hugged the director. What a relief! I would have reacted similarly. I returned to work from maternity leave Jan 2nd with my last baby and daycare didn't have a spot until February 1st. Luckily my mom and MIL were able to fill in for the month of January. I don't know what we would have done otherwise. I just kept thinking a spot would open up by 1/2 and it never did. The only reason he got a spot in February was because they completed an expansion project and added a second infant room. Who knows what I would have done if that didn't happen!

I didn't visit any in-home daycares until my third trimester! I figured worst case I would make visits on maternity leave and hope I found something in the baby's first 12 weeks of life. Your way is less stressful!

Ladies, what’s the view on romaine lettuce right now? I wasn’t eating it because of the E. coli outbreak but it seems that is now over?

I probably could have waited another few weeks though.

Ladies, what’s the view on romaine lettuce right now? I wasn’t eating it because of the E. coli outbreak but it seems that is now over? I *think* that's over. I work at a grocery store and we are always on top of recalls and pulling product, and we never needed to. So I know it wasn't every state in the country. But I've been buying and eating bagged salads that contain romaine and have been fine.

I couldn't think of any questions to ask though, so that made me feel kind of dumb. The websites kind of covered everything, as well as all the info on the tours. MH asked about a few things.

And my mom called and said she's going to buy a crib to put up at their house. I was glad to hear this because when we told them, she mentioned putting up my old crib. I wasn't looking forward to telling her my baby isn't sleeping in a 30 year old drop side crib. She googled and discovered this information herself, so yay.

goldenbird, why don't you suggest she get a pack-n-play? it's much more versatile and portable, not to mention smaller.

I was legit shocked that she kept my crib since my youngest sister is almost 24. I thought they would have gotten rid of it, but it has just been up in the attic. Is this a thing? Saving cribs for forever?

I think this warrants another phone call to your doctor if you're feeling pressure. I hope you get some answers tomorrow and in the meantime please rest. Have your H handle as much of the parenting that he can.

When I was pregnant with DS the inlaws tried to pull out a 30 old cradle out of the basement for them to use. Needless to say I quickly shot that down. They ended up getting a crib😉

Saving cribs for forever? It is definitely a thing. My mom passed mine to her sister, but my mil held on to her children's crib counting on grandkids. She also bought a new one, but it was over 10 years ago so it's still a drop side.
