I’ve been MIA, we spent 3 weeks in New Zealand and it was glorious! I wore maxi dresses the whole time and came home to winter and no pants that fit, so I guess time for me to go shopping for mat clothes.

I have been having the worst reflux. I need to remember to bring it up with my OB at my appt on Mon Ugh, ditto. I haven’t been drinking enough water because of it. Last pregnancies I had to be on meds to control it, but that wasn’t until 3rd tri. Have you tried apple cider vinegar? I’m too chicken. If you do try the vinegar I would suggest mixing it with a little water and honey. And get the pasteurized (I think that's the correct word lol) kind. My mom drinks ACV and she drinks it with hot water and honey, like a tea. I tried it once just plain and it was awful.

I woke up an hour ago and can't get back to sleep, it's 1:25 am. I have a cold and on top of that feel really nauseous. I laid in bed for awhile but was having a lot of BH, so I got up and got water and am watching KUWTK.

Is there a point where it's too many Braxton hicks? I haven't been counting but I'd say I've had 8-10 in the past hour and a half.
I'm trying to drink water but I feel really nauseous so that's slow going.

I'd call just to be sure if they don't change with change in activity, but I have a irritable uterus so that wouldn't be uncommon for me. I started having BH at 16 weeks with my first. I didn't realize that's what they were until later. Being active definitely made them more frequent.

Feeling somewhat better today.
Little man has been using my cervix as a punching bag this morning. It feels....odd.
I had a tiny bit of pink spotting this morning. I'm not too concerned since the baby is moving and I feel ok so I'll wait until Friday to mention it unless something changes/there's more.

So I asked my doctor about BH because I thought I'd been having them, and she said 1) BH can't start until 24 weeks (which I don't think is true, but maybe they aren't called that until after viability?) 2) It was likely not my uterus if I was feeling hardness at this point (17 weeks), but rather my rectus abdominal muscles and 3) that if I was having cramping consistently this early I needed to drink more water and do less or she would put me on bedrest She tends to overreact, so I ignored the bedrest part, but thought the other parts were interesting.

I was on bed rest with my son (2nd pregnancy) for early contractions. They did slow down this morning after drinking water and changing positions. I have noticed them for a while now, but usually it's when I'm cleaning or moving more.

I'm doing okay as far as BH. The cold is straight kicking my ass. Now I know why DS didn't fight me on laying down and resting when he was sick. 😣

I... think she is wrong. This is my 4th pregnancy and I for sure know what BH feel like and these are for sure BH and not muscle spasms.

I got checked out a couple times at the hospital but they were harmless. I was never put on any restrictions. I delivered at 37w5d. BH weren't as frequent with subsequent pregnancies, thank goodness.

Now that you ask... I haven't been peeing more than usual. I wonder if I could have been slightly dehydrated.

Had a good check-up today! Doctor was able to find baby's heartbeat right away with the doppler and we could hear lots of movement! My blood pressure was normal for once, which makes me very happy! And this doctor FINALLY updated my due date in my chart. Based on LMP, my due date was originally 8/17, but my dating ultrasound put my due date at 8/23 (which was always more in line with my cycle tracking). The doctor who did my dating ultrasound said she'd make sure to record the updated due date, but never did. Every appointment, I've had to explain that the due date they had in my chart was a week ahead of where I really was. But the doctor I saw today finally took the steps to update it in my chart.
Of course, before she updated it, the nurse had already ordered the AFP blood work, which can't be done until 15 weeks (I'm 14w6d today) so I got poked for no reason. But hopefully, that is all straightened out now!

I called the nurse line about the BH and my doctor wanted me to go to the hospital for monitoring. I haven't had any bad ones while sitting here, so I'm thinking (hoping) it's nothing. Feel kinda dumb for coming in tho.

The monitor picked up some contractions but not enough to be a problem I guess. Funny enough (since I'd never heard of it before today) the nurse said I must have an irritable uterus.
Bed rest at least until I see my doctor next week. I'm supposed to call or go back if it gets worse.

Bed rest at least until I see my doctor next week. I'm supposed to call or go back if it gets worse. It's so annoying! And you can't follow conventional recommendations of calling if you have more than 6 contractions in an hour (or whatever the recommendation is). You just have to follow your instincts and decide when you think things have change enough to be concerned. Some nurses thought I'd go into labor any day with all the contractions I was having during routine NSTs for GD and others never batted an eye.
I hope it continues to be nothing concerning.
