GhoatMonket I have a powerlifting question. Do you know of any federation that allows you to put blocks under your feet for the bench? A girl who trains here is considering competing but she is 4'9" and normally has a set of wooden blocks she uses for the bench. She is considering doing singles with only her toes down to see what happens

All of them allow it. She can check the rule book for dimensions if she has her own, or they will provide something.
Some feds require whole foot on the ground, not just toes.

I loaded my final deadlift as a joke. I wanted it to break the floor and I could get a good laugh about how it wouldn't move.
It went as fast as my opener. I didn't realize until we were driving home that I just pulled over 2x bodyweight for deadlift finally. 200 kg (440 lbs) moved so easy. Was thinking 205 as a third and hoping it would move.

Deficit deads today and some accessory work, maybe a little bike, maybe not. I haaaaaate cardio and I have a scar that's been bothering me if I sit too much anyway #excuses I came across a great couple of paragraphs that spoke to me. I didn't want to put it in the motivation thread because I didn't want anyone to feel a way about their preferred exercise or that I was disparaging it, so here it goes. It all rings very true to me as someone who never wanted to take up too much space/be in the way, skinny=healthy at all costs, food=necessary evil, etc. Barbell training really did change my life in this aspect. www.gamesandtrips.com/2012/05/31/why-women-need-iron/

I'm so freaking excited. I got 162.5x5 on my bench yesterday! I looked in my training log and I could only ever do this weight for 1 or 2 grinders. Last time I tried was in January. Looks like the 5 sets of bench I've been doing are paying off 🤦🏻♀️

I took 6th.
Ended with a PR squat- 220 kg (486 lbs). Tried 227.5 kg (501 lbs) but got stuck coming up. Bench was a shit show. I got my opener easy (115 kg- 253 lbs). Tries 122.5 kg (270 lbs) on second but I could feel my bench shirt sliding down my arm because it's too big now. I turned in 125 kg on my third and timed out so everyone could have a break. We had one flight of 11 and only got a 20 minute break between each change in lift. The big guys got 25. We are pissed about it.
I was dying at deadlift. Opened with 175 kg (386 lbs) which was stupid easy. Jumped to 195 kg (429 lbs). I got it up but had a balance check at the top and maybe the bar went down. H and I thought it did. 2 of the 3 refs thought it did. The jury told me I should have protested because they would have overturned it. Oh well. Tried 202.5 kg (446 lbs) on third but only got it a couple inches off the floor.

Congrats on your pr! Sounds like a good meet aside from the lame shorter time. Isn't your bench shirt new? Haha so now you have to get one in a smaller size, a good problem to have, no?

It is new. Only meet I will have in it. I have one the next size down that I tried and really struggled with. I have a better idea how to use it now and I think I know what we were doing wrong, so we will give that one a shot for bench nationals later this year.
I have a meet next month I have to get ready for first though.
