Had a really good night tonight. Deadlifts- 325 for 4 sets of 2. Two sets conventional, two sets sumo. Then bench- 4 sets of 4 at 165. Then did some 2 board up to 225, then some holds up to 285.
Had some soreness in my inner quad (?) but nothing that affected anything.

I did my light day and then I got my overhead press finallyyyyy 127.5/114. Only a bit wobbly on lockout. Deadlifted 232.5, I was so tempted to go to 235 but patience, padawan.

277.5 for a double last night and then I backed off to 250x3x2. I'm tapering my squat to try to hit 315 before I take a deload week. Then I benched 135x5x3 which I don't even remember the last time I did fives so that was cool.

Worked meets yesterday and today. After a sufficient amount of crap for not doing any local meets in forever, I am doing one next month.
So I put my suit on and got reacquainted with it tonight. Couple reps at 315, then a single at 365 and 405 with wraps. Everything was high but I will fix that. Then did walkouts with the straps up up to 500.
I suppose I better write my program leading up to this meet.

I guess I am taking my deload week this week. At my last warmup at 265 I felt so lightheaded and pukey and dizzy and blackouty I just left it at a single and am doing 205 for 3x3. I have been fighting this stupid cold for going on 4 weeks so I am going to let my body recover. This is my first deload ever, so I feel I deserve it 😜 Probably ill overhead press 110x1, and then 95x3x3. Idk what to do about my deadlift, I'll end up doing i when H gets home anyway so I'll ask him.

Hopefully things went well and you are feeling a little better.
Bench night went well. Started with some pause squats to warm up and tire out my back a bit. Then worked up to 2 singles with 185 with a pause. Then Did some 1 board with 195, 2 board with 205, then did holds up to 325. I should have my slingshot here by the end of the week and might try my bench shirt next week.

I'm still going to run my deadlift so I pulled 235x3x2, I'll continue to add weight in a linear fashion there until it stalls. This is the one lift I actually had to reset, so I feel like I have to make up for "lost time."

At some point the linear gains will stop. There really isn't time lost. It nice when those gains happen though!
You don't want to know how many times I've had to break everything down and "start over". It's going to happen.

I'm at the end of all linear gains actually, I'm only continuing on my squat after I get over this cold because I'm a stubborn unreasonable girl who can't bear to end her LP on a .5 number lol. I know I have potential to run my deadlift out further. I'm not really an RPE person overall but atm I know I can keep putting more weight on the bar. I do need to get over the fact that resets are nbd and I'm going to have setbacks because nobody is a special snowflake ❄️

Yesterday was the last day of my deload 😩 Squats 240x5, 225x5, and then overhead press 120x1, 105x5x2, banded chins 10-6-6. Monday I start tapering. Weeeeee!

Don't try to do heavy squats the morning after you go on a party bus. My upper back was dead today after deadlifts Wednesday. I didn't think they were heavy enough to be an issue, but my gosh. All the lat work I did and it feels like I did nothing. Tired, hungry, and dehydrated. I guess if I wanted to set myself up with worst possible scenario for my first workout in a suit, I did a bang up job. Was supposed to do doubles/singles up to 455. Did 2 singles at 405, they were absurdly high, so I went back to 365 to work on that, then tried one at 395. It was borderline. Did some 3x3 squats without the suit. High on those too. Tried to do walkouts. Barely got 405 unracked.

A party bus?? Lady you need more than mere hours between alcohol and heavy squats!
280x2, then 225x3x2, benched 142.5 and then pulled 240. Woot woot those are all PRs!

But I didn't die? LOL.
I put on my new bench shirt tonight. I haven't put on a brand new, not just new to me, shirt if well over a decade I got 275 to about an inch or two from my chest, and was able to push it back up. We will take it as a win for today. I'm hoping for getting 285 to touch next week.

😂 "didn't die"
Just got 282.5 for 3, I'm backing off to 226 because damnnnnnn. I actually got it for 2, then I set it down and took 5 minutes and did one more rep. Idk if that actually counts but I literally thought my tampon was pushing out 🤦🏻♀️

I squatted 285 on Monday, totally failed my 245 deadlift on Tuesday, and benched 147.5 for 3 sets of 5 yesterday that went up like butter. I just, I hate deadlifting! Blaming it on shit nutrition and ready to forget about it until next year 😜

I had to force myself to like deadlifting. It was a rough year the year I did that. I did a lot of form/volume work that year because part of my issue was I had numerous small form issues that were causing issues. The other is I have short fingers and that is problematic. And I like to give up after like 1.5 seconds of pulling. That's been a rough one. It did get better though.
My 415 equipped PR from last night was good proof of that.

That's about how long I give it lol.
I tried to squat 287.5 last night since 285 went up so good and I failed it so hard. I even put on dropkick murphys and that shit just wasn't coming back up. I feel I have done well getting generally strong, so I am ok with it. New plan: gain a little more weight, and once I hit 185 I will cut back to 170-175 in my last ditch attempt to fit into all my shorts this summer and then I'm planning to do the Texas method in the fall and work toward my 350 lifetime squat goal.

Today must have been squat death day. Last week 475 was "easy". Got buried by 480 today. Badly. Tried to go down to 470 and more failing.
I have a laundry list of shit that went wrong going into today so I can keep it from happening again.

Isn't it just ridiculous how it can be such a different workout? Like damn Gina.
I did two singles at 260 and then 225x8 today just to see how many I could do. I'm in a funk this week and trying to shake off some fatigue. And admitting how hard I was kidding myself...I'm doing the cut but I'm definitely going to try to keep getting stronger. I should have known I won't just maintain.

I really think the screwy schedules for the last couple weeks are making things worse. Yesterday was absolutely atrocious for me as well. I went and worked out with B and usually I have awesome workouts at her gym, but they were terrible. I should have known it would be bad when she had to yell at me for loading the plates backward.

Yesterday I tried to kill myself with cardio. Happy New year to me.
Deadlifts went well tonight. 385 for an absurdly easy single, then two singles at 410, and back to 385 for one more. Some block pulls up to 420- the last one was the best. My setup was a strugglebus for everything between the first rep at 385 until the last block pull.
Part of me so badly wants to ego load my opening deadlift to 175 kg (385 lbs) because it's 3 red plates and it looks pretty. I know the smart move is to stick with my 170 kg (374 lb) opener because of those pesky squats and benches I will have to do first.

!!! Omg. And also lol because my H yelled at me for putting plates away backward. What do block pulls do? I've seen lots of that and deficit deads on instagram but not sure how BP helps
Deadlifted 242.5 well last night, if ego loading is where you put on more than you should because cocky then that was my mistake last week because 245>242.5 and don't be like me 😂

Yeah, ego loading would be like when I refused to let my first squat at a meet be under 400 lbs because ain't nobody got time for that. 3 years later I finally got to a point where my 1st attempt was over that weight. Little bit of ego loading going on there.
At this point I use block pulls to hold heavier weights in my hands (my grip is atrocious). Generally you can lift more with the weight up a few inches, so it can help with overload work and if your lockout is your sticking point.

2/3 on lifts are aren't in the shitter for this meet. Wasn't super happy with me depth on squats today, they were borderline at best. I know what I wasn't doing and it's an easy fix. Got 452 and 474 pretty easily (thanks fractional plates) then went up to 500 with reverse bands. It was the easiest one of the day.
Tried to bench. My fight with my shirt continues. My new bench belt will be here Monday. I'm hoping that helps a bit. It really can't make it any worse.

Pressed 80x8x3, then did some chin-ups. My H is writing me a program for a 4 day split during January. After going balls to the wall in December, I'm tired. Squats tomorrow, agh.
