3x8 presses at 85lb yesterday, except the last set turned into a set of 12 because H said it looked a little too easy, try AMRAP, and now my arms are going to fall off. I barely got any of my chins lol.

Back to work today. Did some squats before I went to ref a meet. 5 sets of 3 at 275 for the first set, then 305 for the rest. Then 225 for 2 sets of 10. That aftermath was entertaining.

Was there movement in the aftermath? Because like damn.
Pulled 275x1 for my heavy DL single and I did a double at 245! I attempted to do 280 but I was not able to break past 1" off the ground. But I don't careeeee because 275!!

And no, not much movement. The second set I basically leaned forward into the rack, then dropped to my knees and leaned on the catch rack. After like a minute I realized I still had my belt on (hooray for levers) and took that off. Then I crawled away and laid down.

I benched 155x5x3 last night with minimal help from H. He was mainly guiding it and not really pulling up on it. I really need to work on touching the bar to the same spot on my chest. I had chalk lines all over the place 🙄

I had chalk lines all over the place 🙄 Aim for the bottom of your bra. You have a physical cue that can help there. One of the few times it's handy.

Maybe if I think about the elastic band specifically my brain will just make the connection.

I ended up doing 4 grinders of press starts at 140 tonight. My period is coming, my belt was too tight, I took breaths when I shouldn't have, I didn't have great form...the list goes on. I was hoping to get to 140 before I start Texas method in a few weeks but oh well.

Heavy singles were not happening for squats tonight so I did 265x3, then 235 3 sets of 5. Then I did some line tricep extensions and called it a day.

I combined press and deadlift today since this week was wonky. Pressed 115, 2 sets of 5, then on my 3rd set I failed the 4th rep so I took some weight off and did 95x4. Deadlift went really well, I think I've finally got it down. 250 2 sets of 3 woot

Currently running a reload cycle to get back to heavier weights. Deadlifts on Wednesday I push the weight up (from 307 to 315) and it kind of bit me in the butt today squatting. I really struggled with getting a good set up until my last set. Go figure. Had to keep the weight lower for my wrapped sets (planned 360, actual 335), then about got owned doing a 405 walkout.

Hey did you know squats on 3 hours of sleep are like super hard? DS has been up every hour because he's sick and literally the embodiment of man cold, and so my sleep has been just awful. But I was able to squat 285 for an almost-double (bar came forward of midfoot), and then backed off to doubles at 255. Not too shabby considering.

H got stuck in meetings yesterday, so I ended up having to deadlift at home. Back into my suit for 5 singles. I was prepared to be happy with 315-345 since it's a reload week and CD1. Or 385 comes up like it's nothing. That's cool too.

I stayed home today instead of venturing out, so it turned into marathon/death by squat day. I got my smaller suit on and did some partial ROM squats up to 405. Then I had some singles with wraps but no suit. Plan was 365, but my upper back is toast from deadlifts, so 345. Last week was planned 360, actual 335, so I'm happy with this week. Except I was cutting them high.
Next was supposed to be 3x3 at 300 without wraps. I had 2 sets rolled, so I used those and did 2 sets a 275. I was spent, so I tried to move on the front squats (planned 4x6 at 195). I managed two singles with 135 and unloaded the bar.
Total time- 3+ hours

Got a beltless PR! 210, which is kinda 🙄 BecauSe I know I could have done more but anything over 195 makes me scared I'm going to snap in half. Benched 160 and then 145, need to keep my elbows in. They like to flare when I'm tired.

Squatted tonight, 275x2x2. I feel pretty good about it considering I'm losing weight, sick, and have been solo parenting since Sunday. I was going to press buuuuut decided not to lol.

I feel weird talking about lifting in the motivation thread so I'll just continue to do it here.
My deadlift stopped again, I couldn't move 285 after a week of maintenance/surplus eating. I have totally been slacking and not doing all my volume work. I'm going to try a 5-3-1 rotation since 8-3-1 worked so well. If it doesn't move still I'll have to go back to 8s. If THAT doesn't work, I guess it's time for rack pulls.

Are your other lifts improving? If it's a volume thing, then that could fix it. At some point you aren't going to see increases in everything at once, and sometimes a lift will suffer temporarily while something else goes up.
Apparently my bench is the first to volunteer to be the martyr.

Yes all my other lifts are moving, even my press is doing good. I didn't get in all my backoff sets the last 2 weeks, so I know that has something to do with it 🤦🏻♀️

So my bench is retaining it's title as dumpster fire lift. 2 years running now!
We did manage to get my new bench shirt on and I could actually touch some weight and actually locked out 255. 275 and 285 I could get to about halfway up and then got stuck.
So some wins, some suck.

Deadlifts last night. It's never a good sign when you do you first work set and the first words out of your lifting partner's mouth are "Are you ok today? I thought you were doing pauses". I was not.
My raw sumo pulls are effing broken as fuck. I kind of knew that, but damn. 305 for doubles shouldn't have kicked me all over the gym that badly.
Did some weights good mornings (which I have not done for a short eternity) and some t-bar rows because weights hitting me in the torso makes me feel better or something.

Deficit deads for the first time ever yesterday. It was actually easier for me to get and stay tight, I hope that carries over.

I actually like deficit deads too, especially sumo. It helps that I have the hip mobility to get into a lower position.
Though I did skip them last night because my whatever is trash and my chiro needs to stab some needles into it.

Which is fine to an extent because my next meet is equipped, but I have a raw one the month after that I need to hit a qualifying total and that's going to be a problem if my deadlift is a dumpster fire.
