8s, 5s, then heavy singles, deload week, then cycle through again 😩

It's week by week, rep scheme changes with each lift and I'm doing a 4 day split so it's not as bad as it sounds lol

Jumping from 5's to singles is unconventional. Like to the point where I've never, ever heard that before. Same with deloading monthly.
I'm curious to see how it works out!

I'm just trying different things in between programs, looking to figure out what kind of lifter I am post-LP. I went so hard last month I am not at all ready to do another intense round of Get Stronger yet. Planning to start Texas method in February/March.
I'm also curious to see what happens!

Oh also I don't think there is a deload at the very end, I think I just do it once in between cycles. My bad, I did not articulate that well

Been there many times!

We went to see a strength and conditioning coach a few hours away yesterday. It was great! He made an adjustment on my squat, and cleaned up my deadlift and then I hit a PR for 265! I learned Press 2.0 and am excited to try it with some heavier weight.
And then he and my H debated about programming and bar positions and cues while I tried my very best to follow the conversation. Lol most of it went over my head but I tried. My H built him a belt squat machine so he was pretty excited about that. Such a great knowledgeable guy.

Which one was arguing "whatever cue works best for the lifter"? Because that's the person that it right.

Which one was arguing "whatever cue works best for the lifter"? Because that's the person that it right. 😂 They both were, they were sharing anecdotes and brainstorming if this cue would help x person or that cue would help y person

LOL. There is no way to know what cues will work until you work with a lifter. When I did the coaching course last year, he was talking about how he had a lifter that he was using a standard cue for over a year, and she kept doing it wrong. In his mind, he just needed to remind her more. Finally at one workout that was going poorly, she racked the bar and yelled "You keep saying that. I don't know what that means".
"Chest up" is one of the main cues I use which has a huge push back these days. Your coach can yell "purple" as long as everyone is on board with what that word is supposed to mean.

Well yeah haha. But sometimes it helps to pick someone's brain when you're out of ideas, or you just like to talk about lifting.
Funny related story, a friend of mine likes the cue "salt bae" because it helps her remember to keep her elbows in front when overhead pressing lol

Benched 152.5 yesterday, supposed to be 3x5. Well CD1 made that impossible. I should have gone down to 140 but I was stubborn and thought I could do it. So I ended up with 5-3-3.5 with a 6 second ride to pin city. Squats today, I think probably I'll do 235/240x5x3 and if I need to go up (or down) I will.

Ended up going 230 to make sure I could get all my reps with the plan of adding a set if I had more in the tank. It was a good number because I had nothing left. I did some dips and called it a day.

Actually managed to make it into the gym today. Had zero expectations of anything going well. Managed to pull 365 with my suit on, so I will take it.
Kicking around pulling out of the meet or just doing token squat and bench and at least taking advantage of a decent deadlift cycle. I'm going to give it a few days to see how things go before making a decision either way.

Decided on squatting in a singlet and wraps, so had to get a rough estimate of what reasonable attempts might be with that set up. Thinking either 352/374/396 or 352/380/408 depending on how things feel. I did 365 for two singles today, then 385 and 405 with reverse bands, but I just wasn't feeling it.
Really 363 is a reasonable opener but I'd rather play it safe. Either way I really just want to end up over what I squatted raw in Spokane just a couple months ago (385). If it's 391 (which I have done easily in the past) then so be it.

I deadlifted today. A month ago I had a bad night and could not even pick 230 off the ground. Today I did it for 6.
Then I learned how to front squat. Yay!

Hit huge singles for my bench last night! 170,175,180, all no problem. Well mostly, I misgrooved 175 and it went way out but I tried it again and I got it. I love post-period week.

Singles for squat tonight, PRed 290, and fuckin took 3 separate rides to pin city for 300. The first two were because I totally fucked it up, hesitated, came forward of midfoot, got scared and tried to correct but it was too late. And then I just lost the damn plot on the second one, it was like why did I even pick this up lol. Then I was so burned out for the third it wasn't happening. So then I did a walkout with 315 and tried to still be proud of myself for 290.

Last pre-meet workout. Went through all three lifts. Squats- through warms ups (up to 315), Bench- up to opening attempt (175) and Deadlift- through warm ups (up to 315).
Everything moved well which I badly needed. This last week has been such a mindfuck and nothing was going well. I finally deleted my draft email withdrawing from the meet.

So in case you were not aware of what a complete bag of nuts I am, may I present this evidence.
We decided to quick throw on my old bench shirt tonight. Killed 240. Will open with 242 tomorrow and go from there. Walked out 440. It felt like 440 pounds. Fuck it. Putting the suit on and opening squats there.
Fuck it all. See you tomorrow if I live.

I didn't die!
1/3 on squat. Got 195 kg (429 lbs) for my opener. Jumped to 207.5 kg (457 lbs) on second. Lost my balance forward. Tried again on third and nothing there.
2/3 on bench. 110 kg (242 lbs) opener, 120 kg (264 lbs) second attempt, missed 125 kg (275 lbs) on third.
3/3 on deadlift. Was going to open at 170 kg (374 lbs), but couldn't get 355 off the floor in the warm up room. Dropped to 160 kg (352 lbs) opener, 175 kg (385 lbs) on second, then 190 kg (419 lbs) for a PR on third.

Deadlift today, got 245 for 2 sets of 3, which used to be my grinder of a one rep max, and I did an extra rep on my last set because I knew I could. Front squat was 100 for fives. Soooo weeeeeird.

215 for 3 sets of 8 last night and dips. It was so cold in the garage, we have a heater and a propane burner running and it still just barely cracked 50.
