I feel a little guilty we actually had a good night with both kids. I think we have the balance down in terms of solid food for J so he is not starving at 3 am...we will see.
I had it out with H yesterday over work and finances. It is a long story and I will likely be back looking for some advice but I am not sure he is really listening to what I am asking even though I think I have been pretty clear.
Happy Monday!

Has anyone else not gotten their period yet? I'm getting apprehensive hearing about some having really heavy ones.

Hey ladies! We are back from our weekend trip into the mountains. It was fun, but definitely not relaxing. MH snowboarded both days and I had to wrangle LO by myself most of the time. Good thing I’m used to it.
A slept horribly the first night, and was ok the second. He slept in his crib, in his room last night for the first time! It took him about 40 mins to fall asleep, then he woke up at 1am, 4am, 5:40, and 7. So, pretty much the same as when he was in my room. lol but, at least it wasn’t worse. I hope tonight goes as well.

Don’t let my menstrual stories scare you. I’ve always had heavy periods - even in middle school, but I didn’t know it then. I don’t do well on birth control, but I can’t handle them anymore. I think I need to start saving my PTO in case my only option ends up being a hysterectomy.
I got the ultra tampons today and I think I went through four at work. I was able to not bleed all over.
I messaged my OB at 9am to say I needed a different pill. I got a response at 5pm that one was sent to the pharmacy and to start it today.... I’m hoping to get there tomorrow before work after I drop T off at preschool.

bsouls ouch. That sounds rough, I’m sorry. I how this new pill works better for you! I’m like really jealous of all you who haven’t gotten a PP period yet 😠 N officially has a cold. Runny nose, sneezing snotty mess with a slight cough. Where did he get it?!? No clue. How did he get a cold when we were in Florida? No clue! But he won’t stop sneezing everywhere and snot just fliiiiiies out his nose. Poor kid. I’m worried about his skin between his nose and upper lip bc of the snot but if I keep wiping that will irritate it also! I don’t wanna go back to work tomorrow 😩

addymac, ugh, sorry N is sick! It's so sad when they are all snotty and congested. For the skin between his nose and lips, you can try a little Aquaphor or Vaseline after you suction or wipe. That helped a little with M in keeping her skin for getting so irritated.

bsouls, has your doctor ever talked about uterine ablation? My good friend always had very heavy periods and she had a uterine ablation and it helped A LOT, but you do have to be completely done having kids to get it done. Just something to consider or at least ask about if you actually get to the point of considering hysterectomy.

Speaking of colds and snot, what do you all use to get snot and boogers out of your baby's nose?

king26 We love the nose Frida. I think it's alot more effective than the bulb aspirators. If his nose is drier I put in some saline first before suctioning.

In the past birth control pills work, but usually make me feel hormonally crazy. I’m not sure why this pill is making me bleed out.

R slept good last night - 8pm to 4am. When I got up to give her the paci I had bled all over (I slept on a towel, but of course i still got blood on the sheets) and had to take care of that first. Then she slept from like 4:50 to 7:30am.

king26, exactly what thinkchocolate05 said. The nose frida is the best and saline drops before help. Those nose bulbs are super gross and can get moldy. Ugh sorry N caught a cold addymac. It might have just been from traveling.

We had a good night and hope it’s not a fluke like king26 but who knows! She had 2 long naps yesterday and the last one didn’t wake till 5:45 so thought I was screwed but she slept from 8:30-4:15, fed her and slept till 7:15. I would love a repeat performance!

Oof bsouls sorry for that rough wake up. Changing sheets motn is awful. Glad she slept well. N was up at like 11:30ish and DH went to feed him but then he was inconsolable and I ended up having to go in and rock him and snuggle him for awhile before he finally fell asleep. But then he slept til 5! And when I finished feeding him and laid him down I checked my phone and saw that I had missed the calls that cancelled me at work 😒 now I don’t mind not going in but when they’re forced to cancel me they use my vacation time so I can still get paid and I have so little of it that I’m not a fan. If they keep doing it I’ll run out of vacation time and will have to take the days I’m cancelled unpaid! No thank you!! And poor N is just a sicky clingy mess. I’m sort of glad I’m home today so I can just snuggle him as needed and BF him as much as he wants. I feel so bad. we have the nose frida thing but I’m kind of scared to use it lol. I probably should though? Right? Sooo much snot coming out of this kid.

addymac, don’t be scared to use the nose frida. It’s soooo rewarding to get the snot out for them. Plus, I hear it helps prevent possible ear infections too. Hope he feels better soon! bsouls, heavy periods suck, I’m sorry! One time I was at the movies and I stood up to use the restroom. A flood of great proportions happened and I needed to high tail it to the car. Luckily Mh was able to get us refunds. So embarrassed.

It took A 15 mins to fall asleep last night. 🙌🏼 Then he only woke up a little after 12 and close to 6am and I fed him both times. And I’m not entirely sure when he woke up, because he was awake and quiet in his crib when I woke up at 8am!
ETA: He really seems to like to sleep on his stomach now. Makes me nervous, but glad he’s sleeping.

I was so nervous the first few times I put N on his stomach to sleep, but I did it last night and idk if it was bc I was so tired but I suddenly wasn’t worried anymore. Of course DH used to be the chill one and this morning he was like I was so worried when I saw you put him on his tummy. It was cute and then I started worrying again. Damn SIDS.
