Brushing teeth did not go well last night. Might have been an all time worst showing. This morning I told my husband to put Elmo on the TV and have DD2 brush her teeth at the kitchen sink. I'll text him soon to see how it went. Hours late, but DD loved brushing my teeth while I brushed hers.

I am determined to be super productive at work & get everything on my to do list finished. This is my goal every day. And every day I fail miserably, unless interneting is considered "productive." I've actually done well this morning, but we'll see what happens after lunch...

Thanks y'all. The yogurt did the trick. I'm going to be going back to oatmeal and also doing a protein.

I’m sure we could. I just hadn’t thought about it until it was mentioned in the thread. It’s tough because I’m emotionally attached to this house, but at the same time I’m not sure we’ll live here again If we end up back here in the future. I realize now you were probably thinking out loud and I have a tendency to immediately try and problem solve things. Isn’t that half the point of thinking out loud? So someone else can chime in with something that might not have occurred to me 😊

@winomite what area did you end up deciding on? I’m glad you arrived safely (I think weather was bad?) and hope you have a great time.

Ds at preschool age loved ham and cheese with mustard sandwiches. He also liked turkey. But he hates cheap lunch meat and basically will only eat applegate meat.

Relevant to my earlier post- DS1 is currently lamenting that I won't let him eat more dairy while DS2 followed me the whole time I was making lunch saying "I won't eat blueberries, I won't eat cheese, I won't eat crackers, I won't eat bananas..." and on and on. Unprompted. K.

DH and I love food so much, I really hope DS doesn’t end up being a picky eater. If it happens, it is what it is and we’ll figure it out, but we’ll probably die a little inside. It’s fun to share something you love with your children. And at least we’ll have DD (unless she changes it up on us).

DS decided over the weekend that he is terrified of baths. For no reason, just shakes and screams when we try to put him in. I'm going to try a shower for him, but I'm not confident that will work.

You didn’t ask me but I make hummus in a pita pocket with cucumber and spinach. DD loves it as did the kids I used to nanny for. My boys won’t touch it though.

DS decided over the weekend that he is terrified of baths. For no reason, just shakes and screams when we try to put him in. I'm going to try a shower for him, but I'm not confident that will work. I started my kids out in showers with me when they were still tiny littles (but able to sit up well). I'd start the shower & plug the tub, then hold them while we got in & kinda stand towards the back for a few moments, letting them take it all in & reach out & touch the water & whatever. Then as the tub started filling up, I'd sit them down with a few toys & let them play while I showered (keeping the shower head pushed back as far as possible so they aren't sitting in a steady stream of water), then unplug the tub so that it starts draining & wash them up, too. Its not foolproof of course, I've definitely quicky washed up a screaming kid before, but mostly because they were pissed in general, not because they were scared. I know its not everybodies cup of tea, but it's worked for us. Even the 3 & 5yo shower themselves now (I still do the 3yos hair tho lol)

Thanks readyornot. I will try your suggestions. It's just really thrown me for a loop because he LOOOOOVED bath time up until Friday. And nothing happened that I can point to that would've scared him.

Suggestions for a small, relatively cheap humidifier? It was recommended by the pediatrician for DD's congestion and we don't have any

DH and I decided to book a little trip over spring break. We found a hotel and were ready to book when I realized it's Easter. We don't go to church but spend Easter with my family so I'm trying to figure out if we should still go. DH wants to go. I booked a trip over Easter without realizing it too. We usually spend it with my family, but they don't mind at all. Go and have fun!

Pizzaslut I remember both my kids going through phases of hating the bath, especially hair washing. We powered through and they're fine now. Like you said, no particular trigger. Probably just a new form of exerting control. Aren't kids fun?

If anyone is looking for PB substitute and sun butter isn’t a favorite, Wowbutter is a really good peanut butter alternative. It even comes with stickers for sandwich bags that say “nut free,” which is really nice.

I worked Kesha into a guide for parents to talk about Easter. I’m pretty excited about it.
