It is annoying when people comment about how small their kid is when they are 40%. No, your kid is not tiny. Or, people freak out if their kid is 5%. Totally okay to have a small kid. Admittedly, I talk about my kid's "teeny waist" or being a "skinny mini" (Minnie?) when she's actually 50th percentile for weight. I am always saying it in relation to her height, which is off the charts, and almost always when talking about trying to find clothes that fit. Comparatively, she is very tall but slim. I am in no way worried about her or think she's too small.

That was a mildly terrifying appointment at first when my BP was higher to start (still normal, but edging up again... 125/80) and then the doctor couldn't find a HB.
Then she did (I practically had to strip my bottoms off to get the Doppler low enough, and my placenta is FOR SURE at the front/right which explains why I only feel movement on the very lower left bit of my belly). And my IPS screen was negative. So a good appointment, it just started lousy.

DD's waist doesn't match her legs (skinny waist, long legs and torso) so I have a ton of issues finding pants that fit (and I know it will only get worse when she gets out of diapers). But really - it sounds as if it's a clothing design issue more than a DD issue

It's surprising to me how many of you have been induced! 'Science' is so weird, haha. Yea they want that baby out. After my water broke, they gave me 7 hours or so for contractions to start on their own before starting pitocin. Though I'm always confused about if I was technically induced or not.

If your water broke naturally, I don't think they count it as being induced. At that point the pitocin was an intervention, though, certainly. I dunno, the medical field is so weird and confusing. I was induced due to preeclampsia. They wanted to avoid it becoming an emergency because the meds were starting to not work as well.

I think part of it (for me at least) is that everyone seemed to be having babies that were so much larger than DS (he was 6 lbs when we left the hospital, birth weight 6 lbs 7oz). He was in the single digits for weeks and the teens for months. Now he is 30+ lbs at 2.5 so he caught up lmao. Other people (my in-laws, mom, random strangers, etc) seemed more concerned with how small he was. He was born a bit early too, but still would have been on the smaller side if he'd made it to 40 weeks. *shrugs* On a somewhat related note, I just read an article about a woman who gave birth to a 13 lb-er. My cat weighs 13 lbs. I cannot imagine pushing that out of my vagina.

Had a shitty day today.
Went food shopping, and about ten mins in, I felt like a was going to faint really bad.
Literally had to make a space on a shelf to sit down on or I would have fainted. Thank God I had my Nan with my as I also had DS in the trolley seat.
The store rang an ambulance for me, as they were quite worried since I am pregnant. Paramedics done all the normal things, also checked my blood sugars which were fine. So we have no idea what it was. My Nan called my Mum and she helped us with the rest of the shopping, as I would have just left it but our house is empty lol. Happened again right at the end of paying, so glad my mum was there since she's a matron. She basically ordered me to drank a crap load of water, eat some lunch and then go to bed, she's had DS all day.
DH has been texting me all day to make sure I'm ok, and he's rushing home after work to look after me, he was meant to be going out tonight but doesn't want to anymore. I feel a lot better but SO drained. Like I feel wiped out.
So going to spend tomorrow doing nothing and chilling out with DS, it's been a crappy day. I was meant to be working tomorrow night but DH isn't happy with it and says he much rather me chill out for a couple days just in case this turns into something.
Baby girl is fine by the way, I know they say not to use the home Doppler to reassure yourself but I did and it was 148bm, the paramedics said that me nearly fainting wouldn't have hurt her anyway, and I felt her move at lunch time after I ate anyway.
Sorry for the essay 😂

I will be 17 weeks this weekend and so anxious to feel movement. With DS I had an anterior so I didn't feel anything until really late, this go around I was hoping to by now. I feel like I am on the verge, I have been feeling something the last few days.
When do you start feeling consistent movement?

How scary beefinch. I hope you feel better now. When I was this pregnant with DD I fainted in a line and a girl next to me had to catch me. These girls can cause drama lol... I was told it's the increase of blood flow. I hope it doesn't happen again to you.

jj32I'm 18+4 and I'm not feeling consistent movement yet. I am feeling her but not enough for it to be consistent. I would say probably 20/22 weeks for it to be consistent jax1182014It's deffo a girl thing as I didn't have this with DS!! My mum also thinks it's the increase of blood flow. Well I guess that's a good thing as she's getting what she needs but can you just chill out slightly with making me feel like crap lol

beefinch, Ugh what a dreadful shopping trip! I'm glad that your mom was able to come rescue you and everything is ok. Take it nice and easy. Your H is adorable for canceling his plans.

Sorry that happened beefinch! I guess increased blood flow can cause low blood pressure and therefore dizziness? Hopefully it's all over with now.

DS was only 5lb 6oz when he was born and was <10%ile until he was like 2. I absolutely knew that he was healthy, and that I was feeding him enough, etc. but it still sucks when everyone's first comment upon meeting/seeing him was "ooh what a tiny peanut! He's so small!"
It really got to me after a while so I would get pretty defensive whenever someone would make one of those comments.

Thanks you guys.
I kind of think it was my body telling me to look after myself more. I mean I'm making baby and it's not freaking easy. Deffo upping my water intake and more snacks.

Baby is sitting so low ... So I'm eating a donut in the hopes that s/he will move.
Also, DH felt kicks for the first time last night <3 he totally teared up. DS felt kicks too, but he showed no emotion, just moved away from the part of my stomach that was kicking him. Typical toddler.

If this baby is a girl we're set since DD was born last October. And my kids tend to stay in sizes for a while. If it's a boy I'm screwed for a bit since DS is a June baby (3 on Monday!!!!😱). As for inductions, I find it interesting that everyone gets pitocin first. For my induction the midwife broke my water. If I hadn't started contracting on my own and progressing after 8 hours then they would have started a pitocin drip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk For me, I had 3 or 4 rounds of misoprostol, with a foley attempt in there (tried 3 times but couldn't place it), then they broke my water, then they started pitocin shortly after they broke my water. Then I got an epidural a couple of hours later and slept for about 6 hours before the epi wore off. Then all hell broke loose because her cord was wrapped around her ankle and they lost her heartbeat....so a c-section was had. I'll be happy to never have to deal with that again LOL I never got pitocin. My water broke but I didn't go into active labor. Did two rounds of cytotec then two rounds of misoprostrol. Next plan was a Foley balloon but I ended up going into active labor shortly after my second miso. Had a csection due to fetal distress and decels. Made it to 8cm before it was called, so my doctor says I should be able to VBAC fine since once I was in active labor I progressed naturally and quickly.

My water broke but I was not having contractions so I got pitocin and they most definitely said they were inducing me so I don't think having your water break automatically means that they are no longer inducing. AnnPerkins, how was your butt/leg second day? I don't think I ever saw anything. Hope it is better!

Ah! Pregnancy brain strikes again, roloma. Note to self: don't trust self to do something later, do it when you first think about it. The leg pain was gone the next day, but I still had a crampy feeling in my lower back/upper butt. That went away by midday and I haven't had any pain since!

Despite having a crummy run this afternoon, I just registered for a 5k in two weeks. Don't give up on me yet, body.
I made it "running" to 32 weeks last time. And I say "running" because by the end I was doing one mile at a time at a sluggish 13:30/mile pace. It feels so hard this time, but I'm in better shape right this go around. I really hope I can stay active as long again. Please body, don't hate me.

Taking a personal day tomorrow and going to the kids festival for the day with my kids and my sister and her kids. Should be fun. It's supposed to be pretty hot though so hopefully we survive. Lots of water and most Of the performers are under tents so that will help. I can't find my kids hats for some reason so that may be a quick Stop to go buy new ones tomorrow morning.

I was induced both times. Both times they started me on the drip, they broke my water 8 hours later with my son, and with my daughter, it broke after the nurse checked me. Then another 8 hours after braking my water my son was born and 2 hours later after my water breaking, my daughter was born. She was much quicker. There's a reason why she's my favourite. 😉( I'm kidding)

DD and I are up at my parents' house! My sister is here; it is her baby shower on Saturday. We have had such a blast today. My dad turned down the hot tub for us and we played in there this afternoon since the pool was kind of chilly and it was overcast.
My mom is up doing bedtime. Best. Except I have to share a bed with DD and I am a bit worried she won't sleep. 😬

I'm due 11/6, but my other children both came at 38 weeks (DD by induction, DS by himself). With twins they're saying between 36-38, so anytime after 10/9 is fair game...which means I'll get to dress up my monkeys for their first Halloween! 🎃 Has your doctor said anything about inducing at 38 weeks? At one of my last appointments,'the dr told me they won't let me go past 38 weeks with twins. Which means October babies for me too! Also means halfway there as of next week, which is crazy!
