I will be having a December baby in all likelihood. Both kids have been late. I went to 40+5 with DS and was induced at 41+2 with DD. There was absolutely no signs of her coming out and my cervix was tucked up behind her ginormous head.

I usually order off the kid menu at the hospital because the selection is better and J will eat the limited items on the adult menu... The lady asked me if my 14 month old could eat Cool Ranch Doritos. Actually, yes, he can.

I was induced at 41w5d and gave birth the next evening via csection- never dilated past 3cm so I fully am prepared for a December baby. Interesting cnf that for vbac they let you go to 41w- for whatever reason I thought they wouldn't let you go "that far." But it makes sense that they do not want to induce if they can avoid it. My plan is to attempt a vbac if I go naturally but if there are zero signs of impending labor at 41w I'll probably just schedule a rcs.

I might talk to the OB about an elective induction. I would rather not, but kid is scheduled to get chemo during the week I am due. I am not sure if it will move by then. Originally it was going to be one day every three weeks for a total office visit of an hour. Now, it is a week every month for several hours. We could get someone to take him, but idk.

librarylady - I took A to Janie and Jack and we picked out a newborn boy outfit. The clerk gift wrapped it and A gave it to H. That's how I told him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Awwww. Love this!

24 days late sounds like the epitome of hell. I wonder if they had the dates wrong? A big part of me hopes that is the explanation because no, NO, no one should ever be 24 days overdue. That is basically a whole month. NO. Just making it to 40w sounds rough to me. This is the thing of nightmares. I was told since I want to VBAC they'll hold off inducing me as long as possible. Like in the realm of 41+ weeks. They'll let you get to 42w at my office. Lolno. I learned at my last appt that I can only have a VBAC if I go into labor on my own, they won't induce.

So I had my appointment with my midwife today. She confirmed that she cannot attend my VBAC delivery. However, if the physician is in-house with another VBAC delivery, then she can be there to help me through labor. Most of the docs don't take personal call (so I would get whichever OB happens to be on call when I go into labor), but she's going to talk to one of the OBs that does deliver all of her own patients to see if we can all come up with a plan together.
My midwife felt awful that she forgot to tell me about the policy. She said that maybe subconsciously she just didn't want to let me go haha.
I feel so much better after that appointment.

thatgolfb your daughter is too cute! I've seen Janie and jack stuff but I like my baby gap honestly. Carter's has great deals but some of the shirts irritate DD's neck and back. I went to 40+4 days with DD. My due date with her was 11/4 and I was convinced I would have an Oct baby, but nope lol. I'm curious to see what will happen this time around.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better about the situation pootsen! mrspiatt Janie and Jack is SO cute, but wow $$$! I am falling asleep at my desk this afternoon. DH has a cough and tossed and turned a bunch last night, so I must have too. Also, I'm still feeling over-full from lunch That's my complaint for today (the first one was a rant, not a complaint, haha).

blabbermouth- you have to look at the sale stuff! I don't even look at the regular price clothes... they are way too expensive, but they do have some great deals. I used to get DD2 rompers for less than $15, sometimes less than 10. Won't pay more than $20 for a dress/outfit. Plus they have the cutest freaking hats for girls. I think this dress/ hat combo was less than $15... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know that a lot of places won't induce with pitocin for a VBAC but there are more natural ways to induce labor without increasing risk of uterine rupture. The one I've heard of most is inserting a Foley catheter into the cervix and inflating the bulb. Might be something to ask about!

I made a huge mistake and started looking through one of my baby clothes bins. A. I don't have as many tiny baby girl clothes as I thought, but that may be irrelevant. B. I think I gave away two of my favorite DD rompers and I'm pissed at past me. C. OMGBBQ LOOK HOW CUTE THE LITTLE DRESSES ARE!1!1!1!!

If the twins are girls, the seasons are totally off with the clothes I have left from DD. She's a June baby (turned 5 today!!!!), so all the little sleeveless rompers and dresses won't get used. It's just too bad I'd have to buy a ton of new cute things...

paperbagliz, happy birthday to your big girl! I *think* I could make most clothes work seasonally, DD was born in January and DS in February, but...you know...there's a lot of variables out there...

Fun fact I discovered today: DS was 1" taller and 2lbs lighter at his 3 year appointment than DD was at her 2 year appointment. I've got a giant and a little bit.

DS was born in January so I'm planning on making the clothes work. Boy or girl lmao. My neighbor had a girl in October and has been holding onto the clothes for me. Either way, I'm hoping to buy very minimal clothing. Just a few special outfits

My kids will be born in the same season(ish) but DD has always been off the charts for height with a teeny waist, so I wonder how much I'll be able to reuse. Hopefully kid #2 is shaped the same so I don't have to adjust very much.

If this baby is a girl we're set since DD was born last October. And my kids tend to stay in sizes for a while. If it's a boy I'm screwed for a bit since DS is a June baby (3 on Monday!!!!😱).
As for inductions, I find it interesting that everyone gets pitocin first. For my induction the midwife broke my water. If I hadn't started contracting on my own and progressing after 8 hours then they would have started a pitocin drip.

Broke my water and was immediately given pitocin because baby was at -3 station and I was only 1cm dilated so it was a last ditch effort to avoid a c/s. Then MH left to get the camera because we were told it would be a few hours and the house was only 20 minutes away. Still laughing about how he almost missed the birth of our first child.

It is annoying when people comment about how small their kid is when they are 40%. No, your kid is not tiny. Or, people freak out if their kid is 5%. Totally okay to have a small kid.

My kids couldn't be further apart, DS was born in may, had summer clothes.
DD due November, can't reuse clothes as all of DS are very 'boyish' and she needs winter clothes.
Not that I'm complaining that I need to buy baby girl clothes! For #3 I will be reusing either gender clothes and be adding layers or taking them away

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk For me, I had 3 or 4 rounds of misoprostol, with a foley attempt in there (tried 3 times but couldn't place it), then they broke my water, then they started pitocin shortly after they broke my water. Then I got an epidural a couple of hours later and slept for about 6 hours before the epi wore off. Then all hell broke loose because her cord was wrapped around her ankle and they lost her heartbeat....so a c-section was had. I'll be happy to never have to deal with that again LOL
