So if it’s the first day of the week, that means strength, right? I don’t have the workbook and it’s kind of hurting my head to do it without the plan. Lol. I always just watched ahead in 5.0. Yeah I think so. If you're "on pace" (I'm 2 days behind) I would just repeat the last week's strength. Or just do a random something. A longer run, a yoga class etc. I was hoping to get a ski day in this week (crud conditions be damned), so I may sub that instead. Cool. Thanks! I’ll have to figure out what to do. I’m a day behind so it’s Tuesday for me. That’s the first day I have to go back to doing the workouts at 5:30 am. ☹️

I've been awake before 5 every day this week due to human alarm clocks. 😳 I wish it was intentional. The one morning I was able to a workout, it felt great to have it done, but that is not my "golden" hour by any means. I need a couple cups of coffee and breakfast before my brain/body is ready to coordinate.

I decided to do the fit test and then some sort of strength something. I have the workbook so I can follow the moves with a timer on my own maybe ?
I was going to skip the fit test but I realized im getting stronger and faster and want to see. Some running thing I follow had this quote “it takes 2 weeks to feel the difference; 4 weeks for you to see the difference; and 8 weeks for others to comment on it “
Somehow in my mind that became yes I feel the difference I want to see how much

I took a rest day yesterday and just finished Day 12 at 10:00pm. I’ll do Day 13 tomorrow and skip the fit test (I’ll have a couple of long hikes at work this week).

I had every intention of tracking my fit test progress this time around, but I cannot find my paper with the first day scores anywhere. So I guess today will be my starting point, lol.

Just catching up. nochill you’re awesome. I’m so proud of you for making that change and your attitude is amazing. @juliagulia I definitely have the same NSV. BBM made exercise a daily part of my life and I am so thankful for that. It’s definitely been a complete lifestyle change. Before I was always planning on working out 3-4 days a week and felt that was reasonable. It would have been if I could stick with it but giving myself that many days off just meant that I was perfectly ok making excuses about not working out and one day turned into 2, then 3, then I would just stop. Just finished day 5 of 21 day fix. It’s so, effing, hard. I’ve never been a very “fit” or athletic person and I am built like a truck so I’m finding it very challenging. Thankfully there are modifications for each exercise. It gets frustrating though because there is stuff I know I can do for a minute, like burpees or mountain climbers, but I just can’t sustain it in this program like I can with BBM. I definitely feel accomplished after each workout though and I’ve been quite sore so I know something is happening. Just not sure if it’s good or if I will get results yet. Had my period last week and ate poorly the past couple days. Hoping to get back on track with nutrition tomorrow. Hockey game today so I’m having a hot dog. I like hot dogs.

Oh also honda I actually started with 3 lb weights. If you get the 5s and they are too heavy no shame in going out and grabbing the 3s for a bit. You’ll work up to the 5s in no time!

I was going to do day 13 and the workout live today since I'm off work but I forgot it was the fit test. I want to do that on its own, and I was so tired afterwards that I don't think it will be productive to do 13 after. Hmm...

@stcyct I think you’re right about the 3-4 times per week. I always tried to do that in the past too and it’s just not as much of a habit for me, so it doesn’t work. I need to do something every day.
Today is my rest day, but I’m also off work and daycare is open, so I’m meeting a friend for a long dog walk and will probably do some yoga to stretch out my sore body.

I did day 12 this morning. I was going to double up, but I am a little sick and just didn't have the energy after really pushing myself with the strength workout. I plan on doing day 13 tomorrow and possibly pairing it with a non-BBM strength workout in place of the fit test. I have been craving heavier weights.

Ok, I did both. I slacked a bit on 13 after the fit test, but something is better than nothing. Here are my results from both fit tests (day 1/day 15)
Prisoner Squats: 31/34 Push-ups: 20/25 (both modified) Mountain climbers: 75/84 Alternating lunges: 14/16 Jump squats: 17/20 High knees: 64/73 (modified, but I tried to do some unmodified today) Bridge triceps dips: 15/22 Plank up-downs: 10.5/11 (these aeemed harder to me today than I remember them being the first day)
So, better on everything but not by much.

Did the fit test, even though I was anti fit test during 5.0. But I'm tracking reps this time so why not. I did improve by at least 1 on everything, and by a lot on some. And my measurements were good to the point where I think I measured wrong lol. I'm down about a lb, maybe 2. I didn't weigh myself first thing this AM so I'll have to re-do tomorrow morning for the sake of consistency.

I'm down 3.5 lb since Jan 1. Happy about that.
NSV is also that working out has become routine for me, and that I feel cranky/restless when I take more than 1 day off.

Day 8 done. I actually really like those pivot lunges you guys were complaining about last week, weirdly enough.
I weigh in on Mondays. I gained two pounds. I’ve picked WW back up and tracked everything last week, plus the workouts. I’m so annoyed.

I didn't work out today which would have been day 13 for me. I will do it tomorrow, and may just also go straight into week 3. I guess that would just be the fit test at this point, right? On the weeks she does the fit test, are there 2 days strength and 3 days cardio? Or does she do a separate strength work out after the fit test?
If this has been discussed, please ignore me.

I did the fit test today. I actually wrote my reps down this time, so i’ll be able to compare next fit test.
I’m impressed with all of you that have added more to your workout. Just the daily workout is all I can motivate myself to do at this point.

I completely relate to this as well. 4 days per week has always been my goal, but the reality was closer to 0-3 times per week. I've had a bit of a me tap block the last few days, but I did day 12 plus yoga tonight. Didn't feel great, but I did it. I usually would have given myself permission to skip the day, but telling myself that it is only 10 min of weights got me started.

I have tracked on WW for two days in a row for the first time probably since Thanksgiving. It’s a start!

I took a rest day today. My body and brain needed it.
I'm planning on skiing tomorrow instead of the day 13 and fit test. I know from previous tracking that on a half day, I burn roughly 700 cals. I am curious to see how I feel though, because this is my first season in a WHILE that I'm actually in decent shape.
I also may have a sitter this weekend too. I'm not sure about doubling up, but I'm confident that skiing a good day beats 16ish minutes of cross training.

Fit test done. It felt like my legs were bricks. I did measurements and I’m down in waist and hips so that’s good.
I have a question and I don’t know if this the right place for it so please tell me if I should take it elsewhere. But does anyone else struggle with negative self talk? It’s constant and even when I do something positive (like lose inches or improve fit test scores) I find a way to twist it around (you measured after right the holidays so you’re probably still bigger now than in November, etc). Like.. why can I not just be satisfied with the progress?

Like.. why can I not just be satisfied with the progress? I struggle with this tremendously. I know that I am not losing lbs, and a goal weight lower than where I am not is really not sustainable if I'm building muscle. I have to make different goals. My current goals are to do more reps at higher weights, to run longer at a faster pace, to do something active daily and stay in this size pants (while the next down would be awesome, it's really not realistic with how I know my thighs build muscle). During 5.0, I stayed the same weight, but lost 13.5 total inches...three of those around my waist. I am infinitely stronger and am doing 7.0 with 12lb weights.

There are good techniques you can try in When Panic Attacks by (I’m spacing on the author’s name, I think it’s Burns). Basically writing down the negative statement, identifying the truths and lies in the statement, and writing down a new, truer statement. It’s obviously more involved than that but that’s the gist. You don’t need to have panic attacks or anxiety for it to be helpful.

I think she does strength/cardio alternating and whatever day the Fit test falls on takes the place of that workout. So the first day of each week is strength, but if it's fit test day then that strength day gets skipped and the next day is cardio. And if day 30 is on a cardio day, then that cardio day gets skipped and the next day is strength. I hope that's not totally confusing.

Also @rosegold - this has taken me many, many years and many, many "failures" to realize what is actually realistic.
My mom is the GM of a gym and is in amazing shape and blows any women half her age (including me) OUT OF THE WATER in fitness challenges. However, she is fixated on a certain number on the scale like it is the holy grail.
For what it's worth, that number is the same as when she was pregnant with twins 34 years ago and really not going to happen if she's healthy and strong, like she already is.
