@wine, We live in a townhouse now. It's spacious, and it has a lot of the things we like, but we only have two proper bedrooms. The third is in the basement and is used as MH's office. We have the glass room that we use as a makeshift family/playroom on the main level, but when it's this cold-- even with the heat on --it's hard to be in there. Same for about a month in the summer. We do have a big basement which is nice. We pay an exorbitant amount in HOAfees, and they find reasons every year to increase it. Right now we're close to $700, and I don't think they do a great job imo. The house I found is in a county that we were not really looking at, but it shaves my husband's commute from 45 minutes to a little more than 15; it has great schools, and it has a town like feel which is what we have here and like. It's a 3 level 3 br 3 ba colonial -- I'm trying to look at it from two standpoints. Could we move in and not have to do anything for a year or two while the kids are little and be happy, and the answer to that is yes. Appliances added in the last 3 years and hardwood floors. Freshly painted in neutral colors. It hits all of those marks. But I also need to see that it has potential for growth. There's the ability to build a room over the garage and add a fourth bedroom, and there's piping in the basement to add a fourth bathroom (which we really would like). Land wise it's a little smaller than I considered, but that might be prudent while we learn to care for yard or hire landscapers. It does have a wooden play structure, and an above ground saltwater pool. Where I always wanted a house with a pool, I don't think above ground is the way for us to go. When I look on Zillow I tend to find things that hit 90 percent of what we want and I talk myself through the sacrifices, but this doesn't feel that way. We've never actually been through the real estate process, so this is a little daunting, but we have a good real estate agent and a good mortgage broker so I feel confident that they will help us through this. ETA: whooo, that was long!! i want to buy it! I think you need to go see it

I search on Zillow all the time, and I found a house that I just fell in love with. We weren't planning on putting our house on the market until the spring, but I really feel like this might be it. I might call our real estate agent today and see what she thinks about listing it earlier. Oooh this is exciting! I dont think you mentioned that you were listing and moving

We are admittedly inconsistent with tooth fairy money because they get what we have on us and we rarely have cash. I really need to keep an envelope of small bills somewhere. I do this. I have an envelope of $5, and coins to pay for anything that comes up; hot lunches or kids that come to the door for a bottle drive and we dont have bottles etc. It’s a life saver sometimes.

So smart. C had to bring in $3 a couple weeks ago for pizza at daycare and I wrote like 92873492639423 notes to myself to make sure I had $3 to give him!

Morning! Hope all the sick kiddos are feeling better. I don't know if i just forget or if L was a better sleeper, but does anyone have advice on getting a 7 month old to sleep through the night more? I'm totally fine with 1-2 night wake ups but A is up 4-5 times a night and i don't know why. And usually nursing is the only thing that works . occasionally DH can rock hee but usually she just cries until i come in and take over. I'm exhausted, but it seems early for major sleep training? I do try to initially put her down awake and that part goes fine...😴 This was about the time that I started letting J figure it out. Especially if she is putting herself to sleep at the beginning of the night. Maybe try letting her cry for 10 min before going in.

In the last year we've done some smaller repairs to the house and started make a real effort to move because we're out growing this place; we don't like the idea of an hoa, and we also to get mh closer to school. It IS very exciting! Unfortunately, resale values for townhomes and condos in this area are not great, so we have to hope that the market is in our direction. A place in our development sold last spring for 10,000 more than our bottom line, and we are slightly bigger than they are, but they were more updated. I feel like it's going to be so up in the air.

Just make a gentle shushing noise and pat her to try and get her calm. ETA: but obviously pick her up if she doesn't calm after a few minutes and becomes more distressed.

inthekitty... our dentist already told us to save our pennies for Giovanna. Even her baby teeth were crowded 😬 guster I’m obsessed with looking on realtor.com... we are looking but the market here is crazy expensive for subpar houses so I’m hoping we end up building. I hope you found your house!!! 🤞🏼

Morning, all! The boys are back to school, and S heads to preschool in a couple hours. The girls are both up, fed, bathed, and dressed. The laundry is moving along, dishwasher emptied. Aaannnnndddd....I'm back in bed listening to them to them play together.
News this morning that Joanna Gaines is expecting. I'm not surprised, honestly, but I'm wondering when her due date is. Here's hoping she gets cracking on an adorable line of baby products just in time for this baby to make an appearance.

Morning. I finally fell back asleep at like 5. No idea what that was about because I don’t wake MOTN without a small person waking me. I still feel crappy and need to call the doctor’s office for an appt. Today is going to be busy. Registration is apparently an all day thing at H’s preschool. I have to go there at 12 to get a number and then go back at 5 to actually register, so annoying. I also sold something on fb so I need to get that in the mail today too.

Personally I would set a time that I won’t go in before to feed her. for example: if her bedtime is 7, I wouldn’t go in to feed before 12. Then progressively stretch out the time as her wake ups get less frequent. Also make sure she’s not sick or anything like that before starting.

mamabear I second what vino & klong11 said, especially if you're already laying her down awake. Make a plan ahead of time if you're still feeding at night. For example, if you're okay with feeding her twice and you're putting her down at 7, then feed her at 11 and 3. But all other wakeups she needs time to figure it out. I will say once I stopped feeding in the MOTN H definitely slept better.

Morning. Both kids are fever free, but j is home having a tv day.
Gaines baby - I kind of hate watch that show and am not surprised she's pregnant. I feel like shiplap nurseries will become the next new thing.

Morning! I left the house before the boys were even in coats (I usually get them bundled and help load them into the car for DH to drop them) so I could grab some SBux on my way to work. I am dragging and grumpy. Poor Chase was so exhausted this morning and Colin has just been so volatile, it's really rough to watch. I wanted to cry this morning after getting Col's bed changed and I had about 20 minutes before I needed to get up. DH kept rubbing my back and talking to me, instead of leaving me alone to sleep. Grrrr...

mamabear - I did what others are saying... I picked a time and didn't feed him before that time (I started with midnight) then slowly pushed that time back. With B, he got more upset if we came in, so we had to just let him cry. With S, we would go in a shhhh him then slowly leave.

mamabear no advise, just commiserations, it just sucks to be sleep deprived. I was still up nursing J 2-3 times when she was 15mo... the past 5 nights (except NYE) she has STTN, she is 18mo.

Morning all. I'm back in the office for the first time in a week and not too happy about it it. I was a little late because H was a disaster this morning. First, he fell off a stool and bonked his head. Then, he got 3 of his fingers shut in the door. It took a while for him to calm down, but I think his fingers are fine.
My boss scheduled a meeting at 3pm to discuss 2018. I am not looking forward to it. We haven't had a meeting in ages and I want to keep it that way. lol. He always gets these grand ideas and never follows through so it's a waste of time.
