I get ya slenle. It’s like Clark Griswold expecting his usual bonus $$ to put in a pool, and instead getting enrolled in the Jelly of the Month Club 😉 I typically avoid WalMart like the plague so yeah, kind of a letdown.

I have it under my desk so you can only see it if you come in and walk around the back of my desk. I think I may cut a paper box so I can set it over it when I'm not here lol. Especially the long weekend! Thats when he took the last one. When we were gone for Thanksgiving. You should probably just take it home over the weekend just in case. It's like the biggest pain in the ass ever to route my cord through my desk though..

It's a fire hazard. We can't use them in our Houston office either. The building management won't allow it. That wasn’t the reason that her employer gave her though. They just took them all. If they don’t want them to use space heaters then they need to turn on/up the heat. 59 degrees is ridiculous. Exactly. And don't take people's personal property without leaving a note/email/voice mail. And show me where in the handbook it forbids them.

A girl on one of the fb mom groups I am on was complaining because people say the wrong gender for her kids. Her little boy is around H’s age and has long blonde ringlets, but generally she dresses him in a traditional boy manner. Her baby is a girl but she’s bald and dressing her in all of her brother’s old clothes. Well, if I saw a bald baby in boy clothes I would also assume it was a boy. I feel like if you’re going to go against gender norms then you have to be able to ignore comments like that or not get mad when people say it. This is my neighbor. She has a son who she refuses to take for a haircut. His hair is getting so long that she started using his older sister’s bows to pin it out of his eyes. Don’t be surprised when ppl come up and say what a beautiful little girl you have!

Oh my flamingo, she looks so sweet! I know that must sound weird but look at that little brace! I missed it, how did she fracture her leg?

X is often mistaken for a girl even though he has "boy" clothes. He's been called pretty and a little porcelain doll LOL. Do not care.

A handbook is for your company's policy, not the building's policy. Dude, you're getting ready to leave there in like 70 days. Let it go. This will probably not be the last place you work that you don't agree with something that happens there. Believe me. In the meantime, dress warm & use blankets and jackets.

I would die at 59 degrees. For real. I could not function at that temperature.
I'd just use the WalMart GC online. Buy some new sheets, towels, or stuff for the kids, probably.

slenle A bonus is not something that is always guaranteed. I could understand being upset if they promised you $1000 bonus and you ended up with nothing. But, you still got a gift card. Walmart online sells things from Wayfair and other retailers so you can still buy yourself something.

Can't. 59 degrees is not reasonable. and thats when it's 50 outside. How cold will it be in here when it's 10 outside?! I wear plenty of layers and still shiver. Everyone in the building is cold. 70 days is a long freaking time to be cold for 8 hours a day. This is the tip of the ice burg for my issues with this guy. It's just the one thats sticking. And our handbook addresses everything else about the building, lockers, bathroom policies, where your purse can be stored (for tellers) and security. Including, instructing you to lock your office.

tgrimes. I am not upset and do appreciate the money. That’s why I stated it as a FWP and found it odd the half of the company got something different than the other half. My coworker thinks they bought the gift cards thru their kids’ school as a fundraiser. So kill 2 birds with one stone i guess

Disney on Ice people: is the front row the best row? It sounds like a dumb question, but like, how far back have you sat where it was still fun for your kids?
ETA: and are seats on the side better than seats in the middle? I feel like if you are on the horizontal part of the rink you will see more....

peachsmama, Yes, 59 degrees is cold, but if you have spoken to all the people who could possibly fix the problem and nothing has come of it, then you really do have to just deal with it. Keep the heater in your car and take it in to your office each day if you have to, jacket, blankets, scarves. And just keep in mind that you're not their forever.

I would say the first section that is still on “ground level” would give you an awesome view.

IMO, it's best to sit on the horizontal part up at least 15 rows, depending on the venue. If they offer floor seats, don't get those either. It limits your view. Yes, you're closer but you don't get to see the full effect.

Personally I’d rather be up in the stands than on floor level. At floor level you miss some of the things you can see from above. Last year we were on the side and this year on the corner. I’d try to get directly in front if possible because then they are acting the scenes towards you instead of seeing everything from the side (or behind kind of).

Right, but you said you knew they weren't allowed before this happened. Is it shitty that he came in and took them all? Yes. However, if they aren't allowed (because of a fire hazard no less), then it's not that shocking that they were taken away.

@klongoria, we've sat up a little higher and on the horizontal part and always thought it was good. Then you can see everything happening.
