We had my H’s holiday party last night. It was fun to get dressed up and get out, and the sitter and the kids did great by all accounts.
Also, would y’all believe we won one of the door prizes?? A huge LG flat screen 😜 And of course we did not accept it, and don’t really need another TV, but darn!
Today we are heading out to lunch and to see Santa (2nd time for B, but C’s first) since my H has the day off.

Will y’all send good thoughts/prayers for my nephew please? He’s at the ER. My sister just left work to be with them. We think it’s a neurological issue.

melaniesue did he at least help clean it up? I would be ticked. He knew you were coming back, he never should have set it down, especially right where you were sitting.

melaniesue yes, I’d be ticked—he owed you a ‘my bad’/apology at the least. That is also when I’d probably start yelling, “this is why we can’t have nice things! Guess I will just get our next sofa at Goodwill!” as I scrubbed at the olive juice. But I am somewhat irrational about our funiture 😜 Eta: also, I’m sorry M is sick again. Hopefully she’s getting everything over with before the holidays! 🤞🏻 Lol. I did yell “this is why we can’t have nice things!” At him 😂😂

He just kept calling me crazy for overreacting. Which causes me to be more crazy. Ugh. I did get over it. He’s the one that won’t let it go and keeps bringing it up.

He has now lost the privilege of sharing snacks with you. If he asks for some next time you are eating anything tell him no because you don't want it spilled all over the couch...even if you're not on the couch. Just like anytime mh is going somewhere I tell him not to hit my car.

wineallthetime what that I hea about no snacking on olives...? What else can you do with them? Throw them in the trash where they belong? J/k. I can only tolerate olives as an ingredient in a salad or on a pizza. Big no to just eating a bowl of olives.

I’m mad. I accidentally knocked the salt shaker off the table and it broke. Of course it matches my serveware/dishes but isn’t made anymore because we got it 7 years ago for our wedding. Now I have to find something that will sort of match (or at least compliment the other things).

How old is he? 15, he’s the one with crohns. Two days ago he was complaining about not feeling well. Said he was dizzy at school and that night was swing double. My sister asked him a million times if he had taken something because he was acting like he was high. Yesterday he was out of it and waking funny. All he wanted to do was sleep and complained of a headache. Today he woke up walking funny. My BIL took him to the ER. They did blood work and a CT scan. The CT scan was clear. Then he started vomiting. They’re going to do a spinal tap to rule out bacterial meningitis.

The actual incident would have annoyed me, but the pretending it wasn't a big deal - which is because he knew it was his fault - would have made me nuts. If he had just copped to making a mistake then yes, I'd say you were blowing things out of proportion. But pretending nothing was wrong is like... really pointless gaslighting. Weird and maddening.

Also HI! My work PC hasn't been getting Windows updates for the last almost 4 months, so I have a huge backup of required updates and have to process them in batches to avoid taking our whole network down. I'm doing a few at a time and rebooting in between, it's kind of insane. Apparently no one has been getting the updates lately so our IT guy has been going through this process, one person at a time, for the last few weeks. I'm trying to troubleshoot it myself to give him a bit of a break, and so far I actually seem to be retaining some of it.
In other news, Colin woke up wet for the 2nd day in a row, which is kind of a bummer after his crazy dry stretch. But he was all excited for PJ day at school, so at least he didn't dwell on it too much. He also went on his second field trip yesterday - to a play at a local college - which meant another bus ride. He was so excited. His best friend's Mom was also a chaperone, which was great because he LOVES her and he'd been upset that I wasn't coming to this one.
Meanwhile Chase is starting to spend time in the next class up. I'm not entirely sure why they chose HIM and not anyone else, since there are others in his class the same age but who seem (to me, anyhow) more advanced. Maybe just because he DGAF? He just goes with the flow and isn't intimidated by anything - he didn't hesitate to jump right in with the new class. I love that about him, I've always wished I could be more like that.
Anyhow I did my performance review in between reboots today and it was a cathartic experience. I was very open about how I am unhappy with the lack of focus and stability in my role - especially after spending the last couple years kicking ass doing something I enjoyed and the clients valued - but that I intend to prove myself with this next (loathsome) project. Then they have to admit that I am highly valuable to the company without relocating, and they'll have to provide me with some recognition and a stable career path. I'm too valuable to them to be treated like this. I know it, he knows it, our damn CEO knows it, but no one DOES anything about it because I keep my mouth shut. So now it's documented forever for my manager, HR and anyone else with access to see. It feels good.

Cadence woke up wet for the first time since we eliminated pullups, joelies. Unfortunately, she woke up at 5:30. She said mh sent her to my bed, he swears he didn't. Either way, I've been up since 5:30 because her and her cold little feet came to snuggle with me.

Would it make you walk funny though? I mean the vomiting, dizziness, double vision would make sense but he legit has problems walking. They sent me a video of him walking into the ER. It's very odd. The spinal tap fluid was clear. They don't know what's going on. They just gave him some morphine.
