No vomit. She's at school today. I'll be leaving in an hour to attend their Christmas program and will come back to work. Not sure how M will handle that though. I had planned on taking her to the movies after her program but since I missed work yesterday I can't.

For all those constipated kids and the ones that like to hold it in: snoopmommymom lahdeedah tallbThe doctor told me yesterday that from now on I need to sit M on the toilet for 5 min after every meal. It doesn't have to be right after it but a short time later. Set a timer. No electronics or tv but they can have books. Even if they poop within the first minute, they still have to sit there for the full 5 min. That way they get know it's just part of the daily routine that they sit and relax for 5 min. If they don't poop they can still get up after the timer goes off. I tried it last night, even though M had diarrhea yesterday. She wanted to get up after the first minute but I just kept reading her books. After 3 min she told me she needed to poop. It was a lot. I talked to her teacher today and she said she'd have her go last after lunch so she can sit there a bit. Hopefully, this will help. It might be worth a try for the little ones that don't like to go or maybe don't get it all out when they go.

melaniesue that’s annoying, but like others, I’d probably let it go (begrudgingly). Today I’m home all by myself, H is gone for a few days, S is at day care. I plan to watch some of the DVRd Christmas movies and maybe do some laundry. MH has an interview on Monday for the Chief job that he did the temporary detail for. It would be a huge salary increase and a great opportunity. I’m already spending the potential $$. So it will be a big disappointment if he doesn’t get it.

TMI Alert! tgrimes Was she having hard poops? I know O avoids pooping when he knows it’s hard and gonna hurt. Also, he’s had blood before and it was from his butt hole tearing from a hard poop. The dr said it was an anal fissure. Do you think that was the blood you saw? My sister had crohn’s disease then laster was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and her bloody poops were completely different because it was coming from the intestines not the point of exit like O.

tgrimes great tip! We try to have him sit at least once a day for 5 minutes or more and this morning he even went and sat without asking, granted nothing happened. It's hard to squeeze in during the week in the am/pm, but I need to make it happen.

No hard poops. We've still been doing Mirilax everyday so they're been really soft the past month. It wasn't actual blood, like you'd normally see with crohn's or colitis. Her poop was discolored, if that makes sense. Basically it could be a dietary thing, or it could be the location of when the blood enters the stools. I checked her butt and didn't see any anal fissures. Even if they were inside I'd actually see blood in her poop since it's right at the opening, KWIM?

It's hard to squeeze in during the week in the am/pm, but I need to make it happen. That's my problem as well. The morning is so rushed for us so we didn't get to do it today. She always pees before we get in the bathtub at night so I'm just going to make her sit there longer.

Morning!
Two packages just showed up. DH is off today and answered the door. I pretended they’re both gifts and quickly hustled them off the the guest room where I’ve been wrapping.
FFFC: they’re not gifts. It’s stuff for me. Oh, and a pair of boxers for my H’s stocking, so I guess technically it wasn’t a complete lie? 😬

It was only 6.99, I couldn't pass it up! My MIL bought M that shirt for our Christmas card photo a couple years ago. It was way too big at the time. I need to find it to see if she can wear it now.

As predicted, I have a headache this morning. But at least I'm WFH so it's fine. I need to pack bags for the kids since they are going to the ILs for the weekend. I will pick them up from daycare and meet the inlaws halfway. Hopefully I'll be back home by 6. DH and I have no real plans, but will probably head into the cities tomorrow for some shopping, a movie and then meet some friends for dinner.
Daycare informed me they had a case of Impetigo yesterday. Ugh. They ended up with 20 cases of HFM when H had it a couple weeks ago, and now this. These poor kids need to catch a break!

slenle , they need to make sure kids are washing their hands more frequently! Luckily, the preschool room has not been affected by either. But the drooly little toddlers who put everything in their mouths are the problem.

Thanks for the tip tgrimes. Our routine is dinner then bath and usually before bath he is sitting on the toilet to poop. If he ever stops this, ill be insisting he sit. Glad you all had a good first night home and I hope you keep the germs away from little C. kim22What a sucky way to end the night. melaniesue I'm sorry and would have not been nice about it, too. At the end of the day, that's an avoidable mess.

That helped John get used to going more since it doesn't hurt as much. Now that he goes more it's not as scary for him.

I only use it when he hasn’t gone in a few days. But we’ve also had to use a glycerin suppository a few weeks ago when he was sick because he refused to poop for several days.

You can definitely tell the difference in color, it's not really red like it would be if it were coming from her anus.

First off, I don't know that I can get on board with snacking on olives. But I know that's a thing, so I'll let it go. That'd odd that he'd put it back on the couch and then not say sorry when it spilled everywhere. I'd probably be a bit salty about it, but let it go. I see what you did there...salty That’s annoying melaniesue but I think we’ve established that no one listens to Mom around the house, I’d begrudgingly let it go. Thanks for getting my bad pun, Vino!!!

He gets better leave than I do. He will be home until January 22 with full pay and still has 2 additional weeks he can use until the baby's first birthday. He was back at work less than a week after the other kids were born. I told him we will either bond or divorce. THat is ... a long time. I'm sure it will be a big help around the holidays. I hope it is still helpful when school goes back and the kids aren't around. Make sure you go out and pamper yourself while he is home to watch C. Are you feeling better with the pain? Pain is so much better. I had a hard time getting in bed last night but then I got up 4 times by myself. I think I didn't get up soon enough at the hospital. My room was a weird 2 room set up where you had to go through a room to get to mine (like a random room of closets, not another patient). It was super quiet but hard for me to get out by myself.

melaniesue yes, I’d be ticked—he owed you a ‘my bad’/apology at the least. That is also when I’d probably start yelling, “this is why we can’t have nice things! Guess I will just get our next sofa at Goodwill!” as I scrubbed at the olive juice. But I am somewhat irrational about our funiture 😜 Eta: also, I’m sorry M is sick again. Hopefully she’s getting everything over with before the holidays! 🤞🏻
