katietopaz, I hope you enjoy Hamilton...I hear it's a great show! It's supposed to be coming to my local theater next year and I'm really hoping to get tickets. polson, I think that cleaning early in the morning plus difficult DD means that you deserve the rest of the day off!

We have a potluck on Saturday and my husband just texted me to say that everyone is writing down what they're bringing today.
Does anyone have any good potluck ideas? Appetizer, main dish, or side is fine but no desserts! And the only restriction is no nuts or tomatoes... I can't think of anything for some reason.

cp3, have you tried apple cider vinegar for the heartburn? I used it in my first pregnancy and it helped a lot. You put a little ACV in water then drink it. The acid supposedly neutralizes the acid in your stomach. I have not heard of this but I'm willing to try anything. I still feel awful and the Tums is not helping at all.

I'm annoyed with my H. He got mad at me yesterday for asking him to do 10 minutes worth of work for dinner. I hate that it's always assumed I'm making dinner. So the sink is full of dishes and I'm not doing anything and I'm not making dinner. It's immature but IDGAF. I'm pregnant, you could make a little extra effort.

I don't understand how ACV could possibly work, but my husband has terrible heartburn and takes a prescription medication every day. Someone suggested ACV to him and so he stopped the medication and has been drinking hot water with ACV every morning. He claims it's working just as well as the prescription, so it's worth a shot!

cornpop, I hate dinner time. It is always on my shoulders to make dinner. DH never volunteers to help, but generally will help if I ask him to. When I don't feel like we typically end up eating out, which is way too often. So, I definitely can relate to your feelings. DS's daycare Christmas program is supposed to be tonight, but I am guessing it is going to be cancelled because of the snow. That makes me a little sad. I don't know if it will be rescheduled if it gets canceled. I can tolerate the snow, but I hate when it results in canceling things I was excited about.

mintyblueair, they’re so good. We don’t buy any of those things except when making these. We usually make them for events as appetizers, but also as a comfort meal with buttered egg noodles.

I am so excited for our holiday potluck today, there are no words. I may have also accidentally gotten my SIL into (like REALLY into) Korean pop and we might be learning the language together. She also might be chatting with a person from Korea, on a language-practicing site. Sorry, but mostly not even a little bit sorry.

Your meatballs sound amazing and I need them. Might have H stop at the store after work to get some egg noodles and make this for tomorrow.

I mentioned in HDBD but we have a luncheon today that is catered by one of our clients. It's the best red and green enchiladas, posole, tamales and carne adovada burritos. I look forward to it every year and I'm so sad I'm not feeling good to enjoy it.

I have to use up some PTO before the end of the year. I worked for a few hours this morning and then was planning to do some Christmas shopping and cookie frosting, but my check engine light decided to come on. Luckily MH thinks it’s something he can fix so after going to auto zone twice and the pharmacy to pick up my blood sugar testing stuff, I’m heading home to get all Christmas-y! I’m hoping that will improve my mood!

mintyblueair , I don't know if it's really good for a potluck...but you could also make a cheeseball and crackers. 1 package cream cheese 1 package ranch dressing mix shredded cheddar cheese bacon bits You just mix the cream cheese, ranch dressing, and some cheddar cheese together in a bowl and form it into a ball. Then roll it in some bacon bits. Super quick and easy and you get different types of crackers for it too.

You may want to start with a little less or give it a sip before downing the whole thing. It's quite a taste if you're not used to it. I started using ACV shampoo a while ago and now the taste of it really grosses me out (because I feel like I'm drinking my shampoo) so I'm kind of in a pickle myself right now.

All this food talk is making me hungry. It’s going to be at least 8pm before I get dinner. This is my last week of teaching swim lessons and I cannot be done soon enough. My suit does not fit, it’s horrible and uncomfortable, but I refuse to buy a new one for this job.

There went my record of 9 days without vomiting. I vaguely feel like my life is like the Hulk movie with Edward Norton. Days without incident 9 0.

Ugh auri I’m sorry you lost your streak. Hopefully the records improve exponentially. I’ve been on my feet all day the last three days on concrete floors/lots of stairs while doing some weird research/observation stuff at work. The subject matter is incredibly taxing and I’m coming home just exhausted and sad. Im so glad I don’t have to deal with this stuff on a deep level every day... and that I get to sit at a desk whenever I please. I thought I was being a baby until other coworkers started to complain about their backs hurting and they’ve had nightmares about this subject in the past. Misery looooved company LOL

i guess it was our turn for a rough night here. dd was up 3 times. i think she’s coming down with a cold, so i finally have her some motrin and she’s still out.
not sure what we’ll do today. probably going to run some errands with my mom and get a few more christmas things knocked off my list. i’m planning on making homemade irish cream for gifts this year - anybody have any ideas for what to give with it? something small - mugs? i bought some peppermint bark chips, so i should probably make some cookies too.

Mugs would be cute polson, and cheap. You can get cute ones at dollar stores. Today was supposed to be DD's Story Hour Christmas Party at the library but if school is canceled, Story Hour is too. So I don't have to leave the house today. I just feel bad because I've been getting her hyped for this party for awhile (Santa was going to be there.)

polson we got cute mugs at Bed Bath and Beyond and used those $5 off a $15 purchase. If you have an ikea around, they have super affordable mugs too! I’m really hoping the Net Neutrality vote doesn’t screw up my Omarosa drugged from the White House and Jones beat Moore high today.

MH might lose his mind over this Net Neutrality vote. He doesn't politic ever but he is IT and has worked for a small local ISP and he is worried about all this.

Rough morning over here! My right hip has been having sciatic pain since late yesterday afternoon. I took a SoulCycle class with a friend thinking the movement might loosen up my joints and help, but no such luck. I was in so much pain all throughout the night (no sleeping position was comfortable) and then when I got out of bed this morning it was so bad I couldn't put weight on it. WTF. I managed to hobble to the shower and get myself to work (a half hour late) but I have no idea what to do. I'm bummed. I had this problem with my first pregnancy but I thought that maybe I was beating it this time by staying active and not gaining as much weight

Another rough night here. I took Zantac before bed so I could get decent sleep then our power went out for about 4 hours due to a transformer that blew up not far from our house. Dd slept with us since we didn't have heat and she was scared of the dark and had to sleep practically on me. On top of that I'm coming down with a cold and am so congested. I finally moved to the recliner around 4 to get some sleep. I'm so over this week.

calendula, I've been having bad similar issues the past few days. I think using my pregnancy pillow helps a *bit* but otherwise, it just sucks. Possible TW regarding dream.... So I had a dream last night that was a dream within a dream in the dream dream my water broke as I was waking up. It was really scary because for a few minutes I really thought my water had broken and I was having this baby at 25w. But it's kind of "scared me straight" in regards to my whole negative outlook on this pregnancy. Like okay yes, I'm still nauseous 24/7 and I'm walking like I'm 90 years old, but at least the baby is still inside and healthy. Note: I am not saying this to preach to anyone else who is miserable. If someone had told me this 2 days ago trying to change my outlook, I would have said a big "F you" to them. But, just for me, it really changed my mood to be so scared for a few minutes that my baby might be at risk. Plus I figure, with how bad my labor was w/ my first, if I felt any better I'd just be stressing about how baby labor would be with this one. But I'm so distracted feeling crappy, I have no energy left to stress so...positive? Plus I'll be so damn thankful to be getting this baby out that hopefully no matter what happens labor will be a relief.
