My stomach is making super weird noises and I’m sure the guy in the next cube can hear it. Also, who ever invented cubes can go screw themselves. These are the worst.

I made a super yummy cappuccino this morning. I am so glad that I am loving my Ninja Coffee Bar as much as I thought I would. I bought it the week before my BFP and then spent about 10 weeks not wanting anything to do coffee, and then I could only stomach Tim Hortons coffee for a couple weeks.
Also, I am so addicted to Great British Baking Show on Netflix. I've watched three seasons since Wednesday night. It's given me many baking ideas.

With H switching jobs come the New Year, he's taking off the week between Christmas and 1/2/18. I'm off of work too and looking to take a trip as a mini "babymoon". Would love it to be -driveable from Chicago -warmer than here😬 -possibly a beach, but really ANY change in scenery will be nice! Does anyone know of any hidden gems?😁

I’ve found that I’m willing to spend 12 hour sun a car for a spur of the member trip, but others aren’t so sure about that 😂 Also, I’m pretty sure you’d have to fly to warm beach. Even south FL can be pretty chilly this time of year.

mrsmonogrammed CLEARWATER FL. It's so beautiful there, wonderful beach too, powder white sand. Great food and most things within walking distance. I've stayed at the Hyatt on the beach there.. so nice.

What a busy weekend it was here! Saturday we spent driving to my parents and celebrating my mom's birthday. It was a fun day and I ate too much cake! Yesterday was my DH and my wedding anniversary. We didn't go anywhere or do anything special (because kids), but it was nice to spend the day together as a family. After the littles went to bed we hung out watching football (Go Steelers!) and exchanged cards. Today my daycare kids are sick, so I have the day off. Looking forward to chilling with my girls and maybe doing mini-pedi's or something together.

I just checked the school calendar to see when my big kids are off from school...
They go until the 22nd and go back the 2nd - so they get 7 days off. I kind of feel ripped off (for them) since they go back BEFORE labor day...
At least dh is home that week so we don't have to pay for daycare but sheesh.

mattsgirl2004 happy anniversary! it’s ours on friday😊 busy weekend here - lots of christmas prep stuff done! possible trigger warning. went to memorial service for my dad saturday. this is the second holiday season without him and i’m just having a really hard time. i suspect hormones aren’t helping. we finally got our christmas tree yesterday so that helped my mood a little. we went to a gingerbread house making birthday party for a friend’s son yesterday and dd had so much fun. i initially side-eyed them for having it from 5-7 on a sunday night, but she was literally climbing her crib to go to bed when we got home so can’t complain. it’s a two nap day here, so i’m finishing up decorating and doing laundry. trying to plan some healthy meals for the week, too. i totally ate my feelings this weekend.

I would search for a spa or something not too too far. Maybe Nashville or Chattanooga? Charleston is about 14 hours from you so that maybe a fun option as well. The food is 😍😍😍

I've got a very random random. I've been messing around with making homemade yogurt in my instantpot and I think after a few iterations I finally mastered it! The batch I made this weekend is mild and thick, not too tart, and really smooth. Yay. I'm eating it with raspberries, blueberries and granola and feeling awfully good about myself (lol)

I have made yogurt in a crockpot before but I have to imagine using the instant pot is much easier!

I need to eat breakfast. I got out of bed at 1015 but immediately relocated to the couch. Lol. Second shift is stupid, I am ready to not be going to bed at 1 am regularly. I used to be way more of a morning person. Of course I am full prepared to be having a weird sleep schedule for the next rest of my life anyway... So.
I am going to try to do some cooking today along with adding meals to my freezer stash. Trying really hard to be productive.

polson losses around the holidays always seem especially hard. Is there something fun as a family you can do to celebrate his memory or in his honor? We hang special snowflakes for my grandma and it’s nice to have something positive to do. Kind of a random question: DD was about 9.5lbs at birth - born on her EDD. I didn’t have GD, never measured ahead, and stayed well within the “normal” weight gain limits. Can/should I push for a growth scan third tri? Her head was HUGE and I’m terrified this baby will be a monster, especially if I end up over due. Or is my anxiety just choosing this to fixate in and I should chill the eff out.

nuggetrn yes, very easy! You can do everything in the pot without having to transfer the milk and then the temperature is more easily controlled than the crockpot.

Or is my anxiety just choosing this to fixate in and I should chill the eff out. Some babies are just big. Did you tear a lot or have an unusual labor with DD? If you handled it normally, I wouldn't stress about it. My situation is slightly different. DS was almost 10 pounds, nearly 2 weeks overdue and I gained a TON of weight. I didn't really tear or anything, so in that sense it may just be that my body is primed for a bigger baby, but my OB this time around is monitoring me more closely for GD. I expect to have at least two glucose screenings if I pass the first one, in case I develop GD later in the pregnancy.

Leaf 🌱 i guess it wouldn’t hurt to ask about the growth scan. the worst that can happen is they say no?

Leaf 🌱, my only issue would be that ultrasounds can be so off. We were told that #2 was 7.5 pounds at least on the Wednesday before her Tuesday delivery. She was 5 pounds 12 ounces. We've already been told that this baby is measuring big, 90th percentile by the MFM (same that did my ultrasounds with #2), but my OB kind rolled his eyes and reminded me that I grow them small, and to remember how off it was 6 days before #2's birthday.

Got the call from the nurse. I failed my 3 hour GTT. I have to see the MFM and dietician and have an ultrasound to check on baby’s growth, but they didn’t make my appt until Jan 2. So I can’t start checking my blood sugar until after that. I can’t decide if this is good bc maybe they’re not all that worried about it? Or if I should be more worried about it and try to push for an appt sooner? She said to just look up diet guidelines online and follow those until my appt.

polson you're right. I hate seeming super extra but I guess it’s their job to talk me down if needed 😂 tinyjoys calendula I ended up with second degree tears that needed a lot of stitches and a long time to heal. I was in labor for a loooong time and they talked about having to vacuum her out at one point. I just am really really scared of a c-section. And my NP that I loved and knew my pregnancy with DD really left my OB practice. I know she would have done it/advocate for me. Ugh, the stories about inaccurate US measurements are so common - why isn’t there a better test?!?

clementine oh bummer! i don’t have any experience with gd, but that seems odd that they wouldn’t want to see you before then. i probably wouldn’t question it and would just try to follow the diet guidelines as closely as i could.

Leaf 🌱 - I would ask for a scan for sure. They can be off, but if they say baby is 9lbs at 35w, then babe could be as little as 7lbs then with 5w to go. They may offer you an induction at 39w if they are worried baby is measuring large, too. And that will be based on your comfort level. I can't remember are you having a boy? Statistically (although not always the case) boys are a good half pound to pound larger than their girl counter parts (per my MFM, but again that could have just been what they've seen). I can tell you they were SPOT on with my boys. Boy 1 was 7lb 12 oz and born at 39w4d, and Boy 2 was 8lbs 5oz born at 39w - I gained LESS with Boy 2. Girl 1 was 39w6d and 7lbs 8oz and I gained more with her. (all of this to say - Ask for the scan - it can't hurt).

We had a nice weekend! It was my birthday on Saturday and my parents cooked me a delicious dinner and birthday cake. We also decorated our tree that evening so the house is feeling much more festive! Yesterday my mom and I baked a few more things from our list, but we still have two or three more items!
I went to the bank and post office this morning so I'm feeling accomplished and it's only 10:15am lol.
Random question: my husband's boss is having an afternoon Christmas party this weekend, and apparently kids are going to have a cookie making activity. My son is allergic to some nuts (not all): should we tell them in advance so they can avoid certain nuts on his behalf, or would that be annoying and we can just keep him away from the cookies if they end up having nuts?

Sorry for the test results, clementine. I would probably just keep the appointment you already have and assume that they would have booked it sooner if there was more to worry about.

mintyblueair definitely let them know about the allergy. There may be others who have too, or they may just plan to go with nut free recipes to be safe for everyone.

mintyblueair I'd tell them about the allergy. Even if they don't do anything about it, at least they know and can maybe run interference if your kid slips away for a microsecond.
