It's going to be 70° today and it's been so long since my children have worn short sleeve shirts that my 3YO was very confused about where the rest of his sleeves were. 😂
Tomorrow we're back to regular programming of 50° and rainy.

Yea my 6YO told me he doesn't like t-shirts and I was like you can wear whatever you want but please let me just remind you how dramatic you were the last time it was even remotely close to 70 degrees and sunny.

It’s going to be 78 degrees here and I am so excited to open the windows and clean! I have been sick for over a week and I finally feel well enough to do something. I have a sinus infection but needed steroids to help with the inflammation so I could actually get better. The antibiotics are helping, too, but at least I don’t feel like I have a clamp on my head. My teeth hurt so badly until last night.
Plus, no work until Friday, and we’re done with severe weather for a few days!
Now if I can drag H out of his funk everything will be great!

sewf sorry you’ve been feeling so crummy but glad you are on the upswing! Weather here has been pretty lovely—so lots of outdoor projects. Got the patio furniture out yesterday and enjoyed a relaxing evening.

It is a lovely day here! DS2 and I took a short hike this morning and he had a fun time looking at all the wildflowers in bloom. Now he’s napping while I get some things done at home. I need to get to planting!
We have DS1’s band concert this evening. It should be a fun evening- we’ve got a lot a family going to support him.

My lovely day has been ruined by DD2. Her behavior has been atrocious lately and I don’t know what’s going on with her.
She got a note sent home from school yesterday that she’s making poor choices and not listening. Now I just got a text from her friends mom saying DD2 has been saying mean things and teasing the friend. I’m at a loss and so frustrated with her.

DD2 (5) calls her short sleeve shirts “open sleeves” which she prefers. But she said that she wants pants because the slide is hot at recess. I can’t argue with that logic.

Is this randoms just for today?
It's gonna be hot today but under 100 so should say it will be warming up. I have mostly shade in my yard so it's still cool enough for outdoors regardless
Dh is trying to get garden ready for the summer which means of course he wants to completely redo the garden auto watering system. He's enjoyed hand watering everything this spring but will not want to do it twice a day in the middle of summer.
I'm trying to get ready for hosting a small baby sprinkle in a couple weeks.

Oh and lemon selling season is almost done. I always say I'm going to keep track better but people pay in cash and then I spend it lol. pretty sure I've made $400 selling $5 grocery bags of lemons.
It's almost apricot fully ripe season. Last year I sold those for $5 a bag and made $500 on those. Don't think the crop this year will yield that much this year.

It has been a bit of a struggle few weeks. Uncertainty with my job. Dh had surgery. Ds 1 has been down on himself and I don't know why. Ds1 is getting invisalign tomorrow for his cross bite. I hope he can be responsible with it

flojo and flippinchica 2024 is really staying on it's "The universe giveth and the universe taketh away" theme. I found out yesterday that the $4000 I paid to the IRS in anticipation of owing this year will actually be coming back to me AND I am getting a $1500 refund from the state. I was feeling pretty good until I got in my car to drive home from work, and it wouldn't start. Had to spend $350 to get a new battery so thumbs down.

ponyhairs, at least it seems you came out ahead money wise. batteries seem to last less time and cost way more than they used to. Can tell when we hit over 100 degrees, there will be tons of cars with blown tires and dead batteries

We went out to eat with the kids and as we were about to sit down (as directed by the server) a woman sitting at the next table said “I just want to let you know that we swear A LOT”. I kind of laughed/shrugged it off but was confused about it the whole time. Maybe they just didn’t want me to sit next to loud kids?

And this morning I was at a coffee shop with my 3YO and a man sitting at the next table commented on how I talk to him as if he were an adult. He was actually very complimentary.

It sounds like it was just a warning in case you are the type of parents who don't want blue language used around their kids. I know some people who are super sensitive about it, so maybe they've had similar experiences and were just trying to set expectations ahead of time. Idk. Or maybe they're the type of weirdos who think kids shouldn't be around in public spaces outside of kid focused things.

I'm on a work trip and tonight is night one of 3 nights alone in a hotel. Which would be great except tomorrow and Thursday we are in work sessions literally from 8am til 830pm. I'm tired already.
