2500+ yard swim for me this morning. I just picked up really amazing bagels from the farmers market (saffron poppyseed! duck egg everything! miso seaweed crunch!) and I’m making coffee. Getting ready to settle in for a rainy day now.

i woke up yesterday and my armpits hurt, like really bad. weirdest ailment in my 40 something years. i can feel the lymph nodes so they are swollen. and i am so tired still and my ear is still bothering me. guess who's making a call to her primary tomorrow?
I managed a 3 mile walk with the dog, it was slow because the dog didn't really wanna go. But i had 6 girls at the house last night for a sleepover and i desperately needed that walk!

I have had the armpit lymph node swelling with any cold since my second Covid shot. I’m not against the vaccine at all but it’s just something I’ve noticed.

I got up early and got my long run in. The air was so clear after all the rain yesterday. I did the following:
10 min warm up run with Wilpers 45 min pop run with Marcel 10 min cool down run with Susie 10 min post run stretch with Marcel
It was a good run and I felt good the whole time. Had a few extra stops to work with the foster on her leash manners with other dogs. She’s still a great running partner.
The Marcel run was well coached but she’s not as chatty as I’m as I’m used to with her so I was a little bummed. I need to start taking some of her tread classes outside again.
The Susie cool down class had a really bad playlist. At least I was at the end and just ignored it.

The soonest I can get into the doc is tomorrow. I am glad that you have had this before jaygee, now I am not stressing as much as I was. A has what will probably be her last game in the tourny tonight so I am going to fit in a walk. I do not plan on running until my body is healed.

Bookshelves, I'm sorry that you had to miss the 5k! It's not the same, but could you still run the course on your own one day? RunsforWineandCarbs omg 6 kids!

Well, the thunderstorms rolled in early Saturday morning, so the group run was cancelled. It rained all day, but I finally got out late in the evening (1.5 miles). Sunday morning it was clear so I did 6 miles out from my neighborhood and ended at the end so mh & I could work out together. Had a nice stretch with cicadas dive-bombing me hahah.
Woke up early and got in 2.5 miles. Food is good for the day- my regular oatmeal, lunch is leftovers from last night (grilled flank steak and pickled onions, going to have that with some spinach as a salad). Dinner is probably going to be kung pao chicken. I've got the chicken sliced up and ready, so I just need to cut up the peppers and make some rice. Or maybe have it with rice noodles, I'm not sure yet.

Morning.
I'm home unexpectedly today. I woke up to DS puking directly onto me at 2am this morning. So fun.
60 minute interval run with Kirsten 5 minute core with Logan 5 minute stretch with Camila
I had another ten minute strength in my stack, but DS had his second shit explosion right as I finished running, so while he took his second bath of the morning I did the two 5 minute classes. Yoga and meditation tonight. At least I had a nice run.

Happy Monday, y'all. It's going to be a beautiful week here, and I will be working from home three of five days so I am excited. I love being home when the weather is nice, it gives me extra time to enjoy my yard, take the kids for fro yo after school, etc.
Yesterday was the Bay Bridge Half Marathon in Oakland, and it was very fun. They put on a good race, the vibes are good and the finish line party is always super fun. Anyone in the area, I highly recommend.
The rest of this week I'll be focusing on strength. And on not getting sick, DS1 is home with a fever today and there's evidently something going around the high school. Fingers crossed the nice weather keeps the germs at bay.

I skipped my 5K this weekend. It just didn't feel right. I'm still planning on my 10K in June, so still training.

Jumping in now. May *should* be the month I get my shit together. This is my last week of class. Then it's job hunting from here (I technically have one offer, but it's dependent on a few things on their end).
I think I'll sign up for the PZP challenge starting in June to force myself back into cardio. I noticed a serious decline in cardio fitness during this time off. Walking around our neighborhood--while hilly AF--should not wind me the way it does.
My GA who lifted with me last summer will still be around this summer and wants to lift again. We start short hours next Monday, so I need to get on it!

This weekend was a bust workout-wise. We did a lot of other social things that were good though so we all went to bed early last night. One of our events was watching a swim meet where a few of the finals resulted in kids making Olympic Time Trial cuts and that was so fun to see. Like an entire crowd erupting in support no matter which club team they’re on.
Still dealing with a little bit of vertigo myself but got out for a zone 2 walk/jog. Took it suuuuuuper easy. The rest of this week is midpoint testing. I don’t think any of my zones will really change so I’m gonna play it by ear daily on how hard to push.
lol just caught that pun. Leaving it.

I don't think I checked in since Thursday, so: Fri: Long walk + 20 minute glutes and legs with Adrian that kicked my ass literally, and I am still sore Sat: Family 5k + 10 minute hip focused yoga Sun: 2 mile hike to the beach Mon: 20 minute power yoga live, and an hour walk with the dog. Finally not as sore in my quads!

I did Denis’ most recent 45 minute PZE (great music!) and a PT session this morning. My ankle has been feeling good. Hopefully when I stop the anti-inflammatories next week it sticks! 🤞

Still here! Busy with work, baseball, and social things. Still working out, just doing HCOTF or whatever suits me on a day. I feel pretty good and strong and happy with my workouts, would just like to lose 2-3 more lbs (my eternal struggle).
This week I'm working 45 minutes away every day (99% of the time I WFH) so my routine is off and I'm having too much caffeine lol. I had a chocolate peanut butter Perfect Bar and some cottage cheese for breakfast since I have to eat on the go. Turkey wrap for lunch, Skinnytaste Italian sub salad for dinner.
20 min G/L with Callie, 10 min barre with Hannah, 10 min core with Rad, 40ish minute walk before DS's game tonight.

A's softball team somehow completely kicked the #1 seeded teams butt last night. So we play again tonight for the championship. I see another walk in my future.

Remember when I said I was going to get my life together this week? Hahahaha. Best laid plans.
Anyways, not much time yesterday but I squeezed in a 20 min yoga for runners with Kirra. Great class.
Need to figure out today’s plan and invent some extra time.

Morning workout done
- 30 min Legs & Core with RK - 5 min Lower Body Stretch with Callie
I got my first shingles shot yesterday (yep, I'm officially old) and while the first one usually doesn't have side effects, I had a fever, achiness, chills last night into this morning so I almost didn't workout. But I'm glad I did (I told myself I could stop if I felt icky 5 minutes in) as I feel better.
I probably will skip my planned run at lunchtime but hope to get in a walk.

Still not 100% today but rocked an early bedtime (like actually went to sleep instead of scrolling) last night.
It’s gonna be stormy later so I got out on the bike today. FINALLLLY had a tail wind 🤩 but still worked hard so I’m happy with that. I’ll try and squeeze in some weights later but tbd.
