Someone just posted their handyman business on our local FB page and his tagline is "I do the jobs your husband has been putting off for months, and you only have to ask me once"
It is kinda catchy.

It's snowing. I am the only one in the entire state who is thrilled, lol. Well, and Bagel. That Bernese Mountain Dog half of her is obsessed with cold weather. I would prefer snow to the 40* pouring rain! Is it ever going to stop raining? So much flooding.

It is sleeting here, after alternating between snow and rain today. Looking swell for the first night of soccer practice.

I am having a week where I just can't focus and I keep procrastinating things that are taking barely any time at all. Blerg.

angelashly best wishes to your sister and the baby. Thank you! After monitoring at the hospital for a couple hours she was sent home. Something in Her blood work shows mild preeclampsia which I believe is what the doctor needed to get the 37 week c-section ok so I’m guessing baby will be coming next week but the doctor is reviewing now.

Any tips for comfort for new braces today? Kiddo is getting them and I know they're gonna be miserable about it. The appointment is at 9am of course, thanks XH. Pain reliever, and plan on soft things to eat (ice cream, yogurt, smoothies) for a day or so.

My younger son is extremely sensitive and dramatic, and braces have been a lot less of a big deal than I was worried about. He was uncomfortable for the first day, but he got used to it so quickly.

The appointment is at 9am of course, thanks XH. pain reliever just after the appt is over, send wax in backpack, get ice cream a couple of times today. Omg yes, DD’s wax is the equivalent to the adult chapstick. She has a desk wax, a home wax, a backpack wax, etc. I truly didn’t understand how often she would need it. She’s only had her braces two months so I don’t know if she’ll need it less as time goes on..

This is convenient timing, I just paid for B's braces in full and got a 15% discount. We have been saving for yeeeeears because we knew braces were inevitable, so I'm thankful we were in a position to take care of it. Bye bye monies, hello straight teeth!

Isn't it preschool? Is your oldest school age already (maybe, time flies!) Either way I'd just skip the day. I'm laughing because I'm one of those people that think calling daycare or preschool "school" is really silly so I WOULD NEVER. My oldest is in first grade and attends real "school" sweptaway ! I never called daycare school either or called the workers teachers (I could see if your daycare had certified people etc but mine did not).

I signed a permission slip for DS to do eclipse activities and viewing and the daycare has glasses for all of the kids. So I guess I'm sending him.

I would not cancel school for the eclipse if I was a person who ran stuff and could call it. For 4 minutes? No. If you want your kid to stay home, then keep them home.

6 days seems ample time to make arrangements. I mean, didn't people know the eclipse was coming anyway? Just meaning there should have been some mental thought spent on it

I remember some kids being offered wax but I just had to let my braces shred the inside of my mouth for the first month. Although my parents were extremely typical Boomers who had no time for the sensitivities of my gum tissue 🤣🤣🤣

For us it's that it's at dismissal time. You can't release a few thousand kids and tell them not to look at the sun... cause that's what they'll do. So I'm sure the school is happy not to have the kids on the property. One district actually decided to keep the kids late haha.

I realized we wiuld be at peak coverage right at dismissal for my teen yesterday and I said, "So, uh, you know better than to walk outside during an eclipse and look up, right?" He said, "UmmmmmYEAH, I am not Don.ald Tr.ump." 🤣🤣

Our Girl Scout troop is doing a Disneyland trip in June- 1 day Disneyland, 1 day downtown Disney. I just found out that of the 3 parents that signed up, I’m the only one that can stay the last night. And we would have 5 remaining girls including mine. 😫😫😫 Like, they are 10-11 years old so manageable, and it wouldn’t be the day at the actual park, but I was not expecting to be left with the bulk of the kids for the last 24 hours.
One of the parents that wasn’t going may be able to come up that last night, so I’m hoping that happens. I mean, I will do it alone if needed, but gah.
