Also MH was talking with some other dads who are starting a softball team this fall and they tried to use chat gpt for a name and it suggested Thunder Angels. I laughed so hard and I couldn’t even tell the girls why because DD1 doesn’t know we aren’t staying with her current team yet. One of the soccer teams B plays against is the Little Eagles. These kids aren't little anymore. I wonder if they're holding onto the name for nostalgia... Well they better come up with something else soon because I’m getting attached to the Thunder Angels.

We didn’t have out of the house plans today so the girls and I deep cleaned the upstairs. There was surprisingly little complaining on their parts…I may have had the worst attitude of the day. But we got to use the slushy cups Easter bunny brought and we may not drink a non slushed beverage all summer. I think I promised my kids slushy cups a year (maybe 2?) ago, and I never got them. Oops! With summer coming, I'm sure they'll ask about it again soon.

I was really looking forward to a week of no activities for spring break, but we have track practice and a baseball scrimmage game tonight.

Happy birthday!!! Please tell us more about this dinner Thanks! My birthday is next week, and hers was in February. We went to Blue Hill at Stone Barns- we did not do the ultra expensive fancy dinner, but the scaled down version. It was everything I wanted it to be- specifically I cannot stop thinking about the fluke taco and when I could possibly make an excuse to go back again. Omg it is next week 😬😳 I don’t want to think about it 😂

I think it would have to be this weekend but I'm so tired from last week I can't even think about it. How is it already April??

Our break is just starting. DD1 has a 3 day softball clinic for a few hours per day, and it started today. I took the littles and the dog on a neighborhood walk and almost got attacked by a huge swarm of bees. 😫😫😫 It was a moving swarm and we just like… ran away from it. Ugghhh.
It’s a gorgeous day today after our weekend storm. Of course the day we were thinking of going to the water park, it’s supposed to rain again. So we may pick a different activity.

I really hate April Fools marketing. No one believes your stupid product actually exists. Leave me alone. I usually hate them, but orange theory did one for a Nap 50 class, and I was like… okay but actually I would sign up for this. 😂

My campus is on Spring Break, so it's super slow and pointless to be here.
Of course the kids are next week.

DS1 is on spring break and we’re on our trip. We took the red eye last night and didn’t check in until 3 am. But, we’re having the best time!
DS1 made it down safely with the band and is having a blast too. 22 hours on a bus doesn’t sound fun to me but his call this evening said he had fun. He will be exhausted by the time they come home.
He marches tomorrow so it’s a park day for us! We cannot wait!

I had an appointment with my endocrinologist today. He’s usually very thorough but I felt rushed today. I saw on my bloodwork that my cortisol level is 23 (top of normal range is 22), but he didn’t seem concerned. I asked if it should be rechecked but he said not until my appointment next year. 🤷🏼♀️

I feel like this has been discussed, but we are less than a week from this eclipse, and my kids' schools have yet to say a THING about it. We aren't directly in the path of totality, but we are supposed to see like 97% totality or something like that, and right now, with the eclipse visible from 2-4 and the totality happening around 3:15, our elementary schools dismiss at 3:30, our middle schools dismiss at 3:40, and our high school dismisses at 3:00, we have not heard a single thing about the eclipse from the school district and I'm annoyed. We had spring break last week-yesterday, so today is their 1st day back, and I'm hoping they announce SOMETHING.

You get to be stupid with other band geeks and before you know it, you’re somewhere new. Best trip was the one to march at Mardi Gras.

It’s a busy week here. I’m taking on some new duties at work, my parents are coming this weekend for the eclipse, and there’s only like 6 or 7 weeks of school left, so it feels like summer is practically here already. Insane.
We did get all our first choice summer camps, though, so I’m psyched about that. Just got off the waitlist for the biggest one this week.

I think a bunch of people called because we got the in case you didn’t hear we are closed so I would call.

DS will be getting off the bus around 3:20 so sadly he'll be on the bus for most of it, but I'm sending him to school with a pair of eclipse glasses and calling it good. Another district near by is actually keeping the kids late so they can watch it or stay safe or do a lesson around it or whatever but.... that seems a little weird too.

This weather is awful. I don't think anything will ever be dry again. I just want to go home and curl up on the couch.

We're in the path of totality and most schools are canceled for the day. Our district is in session, but it will happen here at around 2:00. So they're taking most of the day to plan activities and lessons around it. The city is going to be absolutely stupid with traffic.

I hate how fast it always goes.

Our district is letting out early. Because it’s supposed to happen right at dismissal time, I think they are worried about the safety of kids looking at the sun with no supervision.

We are at 99% totality here. They expect our area and north and west of us to have a huge influx of visitors for the viewing and that there will most likely be traffic issues/cellphone outages.
The boys school is half day and the we can go back and view it with the science teachers and do stem activities.

Our school had eclipse glasses donated to them by Buc-ee’s. They have a plan to let every student see it BUT it’s supposed to be a rainy/cloudy day. Booo.

Our PTO planned a full day of special activities for the eclipse which will be around 1:30 here I think. I can’t go tomorrow next week but I’ll be there tonight Sunday to help set up. Should be a lot of fun for the kids.
Goodness, what day is it…next week 🙃
