Our spring break is the week after Easter which is apparently hella early this year. Ours is the week before! It's too early this year. Our spring break is always the same week so it usually doesn’t coincide with Easter. But it’s kind of nice that it does this year. Not that we do much lol.

We just get a long Easter weekend for "spring break." All the more reason for me to give DS a random day off. SD never takes me up on this stuff, but I think DS will be my kid to try to play hooky as much as possible.

Ours is the week before! It's too early this year. Ours has always been the week after Easter but they decided moving forward they'll have it the last week of March no matter what. I have no issue with it not being around Easter, and can understand that calendar wise March makes sense - but I like April spring breaks so much better. We tend to do road trips or stay cations and the Midwest weather in March is just so dang unpredictable. The year we went to TN the first part of the week it was warmer in WI than it was in TN, but then days after we got home there was a snow storm. Totally hear you- I'm always super frustrated that we have a Feb break here (and April). Teachers and kids just had a break 6 weeks prior. There is nowhere driving distance of MA that's nice in Feb. Flights are always 8 trillion dollars that week so we're just like stuck here in the cold for a complete waste of a week.

Anyone have experience buying a wig? My hair keeps getting thinner and thinner. I don't want to spend a fortune but don't want to waste money on something crappy.

Sometimes we travel for Easter so I would prefer our spring break NOT be tied to Easter- or at least be afterwards. We are going to the mountains for our spring break, where we will also likely have snow.

Our spring break is the week after Easter which is apparently hella early this year. This is ours too. Sometimes H takes the week off, but I honestly don’t mind if he doesn’t. He wants to do yard work and make plans. I just want to relax and have fun before the craziness of the end of the school year.

My mom got a couple from QVC and they look great. I showed my hairdresser a picture of my mom wearing one and she said she had no idea it was a wig.

He wants to take on some huge project and it ends up being stressful.

I don't have any personal experience, but I see some amazing pieces on TT. These hair artists are so talented you would never know. I also watched a woman with alopecia review several different brands she ordered online. Maybe start there?

I think it would be fun to get a variety of hairstyles but not sure I could pull that off. I know the celebs/housewives do that, but would it be weird to show up with different hair lengths at my office job?

There’s a woman at my work who does this, and because most of us know she has health issues leading to hair loss, we just roll with it and compliment her different styles when she introduces them. I’m sure it would depend on how open you are about it with coworkers.

I’m looking for a good potato soup recipe now for my sister’s party Sunday Anyone have a favorite? My family doesn’t eat it so I’ve never made one This is the general recipe my family loves. It is not diet friendly and leftovers do NOT survive. It’s really a day of soup only, the rest is garbage so adjust the recipe accordingly. thecozycook.com/baked-potato-soup/

I am struggling hard lately--I feel like with everything. Work, home, just everything is a lot right now.
On the good news front DD1 got the clear to go into places and start to venture out again at non-peak times. Like restaurants for dinner at 5pm instead of 7.

Our school board just approved next year's calendar. They took away our spring break and for some reason the last day of school is a Monday. I cannot fathom what they were thinking with that move. You couldn't find another day in there somewhere?

You couldn't find another day in there somewhere? Taking away spring break sounds like a pretty radical move. Our last day of school for next school year is also a Monday and a half day at that. We typically end up having at least a day or two of snow days to make up (max of 3 I think) but I would be really annoyed if it stayed Monday at 12:30p.

I use precooked bacon and half and half instead of evaporated milk (only because I always have half and half). www.theslowroasteditalian.com/slow-cooker-potato-soup-recipe/Forgot to add- I halve the amount of onion. It was way too much with the full amount.

We have only had spring break the past three years. We used to start after Labor Day, no SB. Then we started before and got SB. Next year we start before and lose the break. I do not know why. Monday is a wild choice but.

We're trying to do more family movie nights but so limited on movie options!

We're trying to do more family movie nights but so limited on movie options! He will overcome being scared for subject matter he likes (Super Mario Bros Movie, for example), and other than that it's just management strategies. He's welcome to play elsewhere during a movie, or get out toys in the living room where the movie is going. We also turn down the volume when approaching scary parts so the sound isn't making it scarier.

How is the movie Wish? Will my kid, who had to hold my hand through all of Finding Nemo and Monster, Inc. because scary, be able to watch it? When the villain amps up his magic there's some dramatic moments and green lighting for effect but I don't think it's quite as scary as the above mentioned movies. Hard to know how kids will react though, but both of my fairly sensitive girls loved it. And a lot of people have said they didn't care for it, but if you know Disney movies there are a ton of little easter eggs*. We spotted a few and then looked it up and apparently there are something like 80 in total? Idk, I'll have to watch it again from the beginning with that in mind to find them all. Also a lot of people didn't care for the music but I loved it. It feels more like a Broadway musical score though in it's styling vs an animated film, which might be what threw others? *spoilered in case you don't want a couple of hints/examples the main character's friends are clearly modeled after the seven dwarfs, Asha later dons a cloak that Cinderella's fairy godmother wears, hinting that Asha becomes her later in life, etc

It was way too much with the full amount. Crockpot is even better thanks! I’m checking out all of these my mom's crockpot potato soup is similar to link above. but she calls hers more a poor person potato soup as the bacon, ham cubes, shredded cheese, chives, green onions, sour cream and even ck broth are all optional I'm typing up what my mom gave me. hope it makes sense. potato soup is pretty forgiving. quantities, depends on how big your crock pot and how many you a feeding we always do at least 1 potato per person and one for the pot add to crockpot some onion, celery and carrot (dice or shred for flavor about equal quantities--but my boys like less celery) salt and pepper grind, you can add chopped garlic or powdered if you like it in your soup. almost fill crockpot with potatoes peeled and cut into cubes add some water or broth to cover bottom of crockpot about halfway up the potatoes. you don't have to cover potatoes like you would need to do if you do this on the stovetop. cook on low 4-6 hours until potatoes are soft (on high for 2-3 hours) when potatoes are soft, give the crockpot a good stir, smashing up some potatoes add a can of evap milk, and a stick of butter, turn on high and check in half hour test if it's thick/thin enough for you, adding more milk (just like your usual 2%milk) if too thick puree or mash up more potatoes if it's too thin. can also add cheese or sour cream you can thicken with some flour but it may give a raw flour flavor if it's put in last. if you add cold milk cover for 10 more minutes or until hot enough. Top bowls with all the toppings you want especially bacon! and this is what always makes the soup yummy, right?

It's a win-win for them because it counts as full day and nobody shows up. So dumb.
