A short 3km run just to shake out my sore legs. This weekend I managed 36,000 steps and then 15,000 today. I am sore 🙃

cnf I love that pic of your daughter, so cute! My oldest loves exercising. He has an energy tank we can't seem to empty and already plays soccer nonstop, so we've been trying to show him things he can do at home by himself. We take him to a speed and agility class where he's gotten really good at rope ladders, bodyweight exercises, jump roping, etc. He uses my workout space in our basement often to run through his own "classes". I should try a Peloton strength class with him and see if he likes it!

I did another 5k this weekend! Finished 7th in my age group and all minutes under 10, but still didn’t quite break 30. My new 5k goal for the year, apparently.

Got my 3 miles in today. Outside! In a tank top! A bit higher on my HR than I was trying for but I know my body isn’t flipping a switch just because I can run it straight without walk breaks.
It’s sunny and glorious. (Mid 40’s in Feb in the Midwest 😅) I can’t remember that last time we had a day that was sunny from sunrise to sunset. SO many people were out. I love it.

Happy Sunday! I went out and ran 10K today. It was the first time I’ve run that far since the end of 2022! I shaved 15 minutes off my time so I’m pretty happy with that. I decided to leave my neighborhood and go out on the county highway and it was a lot hillier than my little loop on our street. But I got to run past horses and a cute miniature pony so I’ll call it a win. Finished up with my peloton stack. Now I’m going to go get a bunch more steps in while I grocery shop.

Ugh, morning.
I fell asleep late and was up in the middle of the night with DS, but I still managed to pry myself out of bed this morning. Now I cannot stop yawning.
45 minute interval run with Becs 10 minute arms and shoulders with Ben 5 minute core with Emma 5 minute stretch with Camila
Yoga tonight.
Food should be fine. I may need to go out for something stronger than regular coffee though. I am dragging.

We did a very quick-turn road trip this weekend, and so I didn't do a ton of movement (we also had a huge storm that limited everything) however, I snuggled my niece a whole bunch! Yesterday in the car me was smart and counted myself in for yoga at 5am today, so got up and did 20 minutes of yoga. The kids are out of school today due to the storm, so I'm happy to have that done, and we will hopefully get out for some walking this morning before the rain starts again.

Today- 1 hr body pump 30 min elliptical 10 min core done and dusted!
Happy Monday!

Squats etc today. Only 10 lbs away from using the 45 plates lol. Maybe by the end of the month?!?! Legs are tired from running but in a good way.

Did a really good job on my leg of the trail relay race yesterday- I was cold from waiting around so I was really motivated to move fast to warm up! It ended up being a bit shy of 6 miles but that was fine by me.
Today will likely just be an easy mile (probably on the treadmill).

Good morning! I very wisely swapped my weekend days and got 12 miles in on Saturday instead of Sunday, due to the insane rainy and windy storm California got yesterday. During the storm I did a 60 minute yoga with Kirra (her most recent, it was great) and 20 minute full body strength with Tunde (challenging as always).

Hello! Just caught up on everyone's posts. RunsforWineandCarbs , thank you for pointing out that the last time I posted, I was in the wrong thread yet again, lol. January was OK. Workouts have been solid. I am going to finish up Andy's density training this week and then I need to decide what I want to get into next. I did see RK has been slowly releasing 4 more workouts that are like her previous split, so maybe I'll do that. February's goals are to tighten up my eating. I'm solidly up 5 lbs from where I prefer to be. I keep losing a little, and then gaining some of it back. And for some reason, I always think that the holiday weight (I usually give no F's the last like two weeks of the year and gain at least 3 lbs) will melt off as soon as I start eating "normally" again in January, and it really never does, lol. I have to actually try, and it sucks. I do really well during the week, but weekends are hit or miss depending on plans and drinking. I need to be more strict on no sugary cocktails and less takeout/eating out. I did something to my upper back and it's very sore and I don't have a lot of range of motion. I did a lot of rows in my workout Saturday, so maybe that was it, but I don't remember any acute pain or anything so I'm not sure why I am this bothered. So I decided to postpone the Density program another day and I did a 15 min 80s ride with Robin, a 5 min core with Emma, and a 20 min healthy back yoga flow with Aditi. Hopefully I'll be good by tomorrow. B - waffle L - leftover tacos D - H is out of town, I think DS and I will make homemade pizzas with the Skinnytaste dough. I'll make mine a white pizza. S - TBD

I was OOT over the weekend so I did a 30 min Evening Yoga session with Anna on Saturday and a meditation session before bed last night with Ross.
I started Week 3 of TSY2 with Ben this week and he's lengthened the workouts for an additional challenge. I love Ben but if he says "let the weights do the work" one more time. Sir...
- 30 min TSY2 Upper Body Strength - I stuck with 12s for chest, back, and shoulders (except lateral raises as those are the suck) and 10s for said lateral raises and biceps/triceps - 5 min TSY2 Upper Body Stretch

It is rainy AF here and will be most of the week, so my treadmill and I will be getting some quality time together. I have friday off and I’m hoping I can do the 10K route for my race in March as a baseline, but if it’s raining I’ll just do it on the tread too. The aim this week is just mileage, maybe a little speed work midweek. But I haven’t done many slow and steady runs in a few weeks and just want to do that and enjoy for a bit. I do think I need to increase my “slow and steady” pace a little since I now know my 5K pace is well under 10 min miles… but TBD. I feel like I could run 11 min miles for days, so maybe I just do that and enjoy for the next few long runs.

I took another long walk to the park with DS yesterday, and then today was 5 am OTF. I sold some Girl Scout cookies for my kids there so that was nice lol. Solid ESP day today.
I am feeling like I’m coming down with something, a little sniffly and mild sore throat, but that’s been happening lately and then not turning into anything. So fingers crossed it doesn’t turn into anything.

Hi! Hoping to join in occasionally. Been in a good habit of working out 3 days a week for the past 8 months, but now looking to add another 1-2 days (cardio) and clean up diet a little.
Weekend was full of skiing, no additional workouts. This morning was squats, then hanging leg raises, DB press and some mobility.

I had plans to stretch on Saturday and Sunday, but I didn't get it done. Last night involved falling asleep in bed with DD during bedtime, so I guess I needed the sleep.
This morning started the last week of the beginner strength program. It was a 30 minute upper body workout with Matty. I should really start thinking about what I'm going to do after this program ends at some point this week.

I had a busy weekend of taking my daughter to a cheer comp in a city 3h away, then having no opportunity to have any intentional movement. Then we drove home yesterday on a blizzard and it took almost 6h. The wooooorst.
Anyways, I did the long run I was supposed to do this weekend, tonight. 10km on the tread, in just under an hour (58:07). My last 10k race was in 2019 and that one was 1:06. 🙌

Haven’t checked in for a couple of days but I’ve been staying on track. I have been so sleepy lately. I don’t know if it’s the weather or what but I’ve been sleeping an almost absurd amount.
Sat. I got out for an outdoor run before the big storm came in. It was great running weather. Followed by the Pink yoga class with Aditi.
Yesterday I did a 30 min PZ class with Hannah F and the last day of week 2 of the stronger you 2 program with Ben.
Today:
10 min warm up walk with RK 30 min intervals run with Camila 20 min yoga focus flow lower body with Kristen

Morning.
Gosh I am so tired. Maybe I should go back to pounding pre-workout as soon as my alarm goes off. I don't know. I used to be able to roll right out of bed and get moving without bother, but I'm just tired lately. Fatigue is a side effect of my new meds, so I'm going to pretend that's the issue and that it'll get better. Sure.
30 minute interval run with Hannah 20 minute interval run with Susie 5 minute core with Selena 10 minute stretch with Robin
Yoga tonight.
DS woke up sobbing because he peed the bed. We stopped using pullups a bit ago because he hasn't had a wet one in months and he hasn't wet the bed since we dropped them like a month or so ago. I got caught up stripping his bed and tossing him in the tub and completely forgot lunch since I was running late. So, yeah, now I need a lunch.

Hey hey. I participated in a local 5k that has turned into a huge event. It supports cancer and the entire community comes out. It was a cold morning but really fun! Sunday was recovery as I had a terrible charlie horse the night before the race and my calf was still pretty tight. Monday was a short mile with run club thanks to the cold, rain and wind. I did manage to fit in a 10 min strength for runners as well.
Food: B: LLM breakfast sandwich L: turkey slices, string cheese, raw veggies with ranch and an orange S: protein shake D: turkey tacos with black beans and rice

Searching for Lulu races... They used to do a whole series of 10k’s in different cities but now they’re only doing a couple a year. There was one on the fall, I think in AZ? And one at the end of March in LA. I’m not sure why they’re not doing more.
