So sore today. Yesterday was sumo deadlifts as the main set, then took the kids skiing the rest of the day. I was so tired last night, went to bed the same time as the kids. Hoping to get some stretching in today, then back at it tomorrow morning... jaygee - jealous about the fresh powder! It was ice city for us yesterday.

Morning.
With my parents back home from Jersey I was able to get outside today. Nine days ago I ran outside and it was mid 50s. Today it was barely above 0 with a foot of snow on the ground. Weather be crazy.
I did 10k though because it was still glorious to be out in the fresh air on my favorite back roads. Followed it up with a 5 minute stretch and a 5 minute core. I skipped yoga last night because we stayed up way too late. Tonight I doubt I'll do any either. We won't get home until like bedtime, so I'll have to catch up on it the rest of the week.
Food will be crap again today. I'm going out with a friend this afternoon and I plan to eat lots of yummy ethnic foods at the city market. Nomnomnom.

45 min PZE ride yesterday. Today 5 min warm up ride, 20 min tabata ride (my first), 5 min cool down ride, 5 min stretch. Trying to sweat out this head cold my husband shared with me. let me know if it works. i am trying to get rid of a nasty cold as well. Mmmmmm sort of? I cleared a lot of gunk out but overall I still don’t feel right. I think part of it is the decongestant though.

Afternoon!
Hit my 2500 strength workout today! Kind of anticlimactic since there were no live classes til Friday so I couldn't try for a shoutout. Oh well. I am kind of lost as to what to do next after doing RK's split for 8 weeks and then Andy's Density training for 4 weeks. I did RK's 4 day split last week but I really wasn't in love with it. So, I went back to the HCOTF calendar today at least for now. 20 min G/L with Callie, 10 min G/L with Andy, 10 min core with JJ, and 20 min 80s ride with Robin.
I've seen some people doing a "triple crown" which I believe is Adrians G/L program, Tunde's Arms, and Emmas core - has anyone here done that?
We took DS to Pittsburgh Sunday/Monday to see the Titanic exhibit at the Science Center and do some sightseeing. I went to college there so lots of nostalgia. I had some delicious food - Detroit style pizza, a club sandwich, and a really fabulous burger yesterday. Plus a few drinks. No regrets, but good Lord I need to lock down my eating now. Still not making any progress losing the 4 lbs I gained over Christmas and that trip's not going to do me any favors. Sigh, my neverending story.
B - turkey sausage and hashbrown scramble L - half my burger from yesterday and a handful of fries, plus a big spinach salad D - we have a spaghetti dinner tonight at DS's school S - TBD

Congrats on 2500, beerlover! That's amazing. I'm planning to start RK's 4-day split next week. Just curious, what didn't you love about it? Everyone raves about her 5-day split program but with me upping my running to 3 days/week, 5 days of strength is a bit much for me right now.

4 ugly miles today. Woof. But it’s done.
Putting it here that I’m focusing hard on water, sleep, protein the rest of this week.

Congrats on 2500, beerlover ! That's amazing. I'm planning to start RK's 4-day split next week. Just curious, what didn't you love about it? Everyone raves about her 5-day split program but with me upping my running to 3 days/week, 5 days of strength is a bit much for me right now. What I loved about the 5 day one is the low reps and heavier weights. The 4 day one increased the number of reps and just felt a bit faster paced so I struggled (okay maybe I don't like it because its hard? lol). The complexes at the end of each workout, I struggled to get through the number of reps she wanted. Also, the 45 min workout specifically was to be light weights and high reps and I just didn't like that as much as some of her other 45 min ones. Finally, I liked the music in the 5 day one better. I feel like I may be in the minority on this though and people are loving it. I'd still try it!

Thanks for that, beerlover. That makes total sense to me. I will have to try it and see. If I end up repeating for several weeks, which is the point, I can see me doing fewer reps with heavier weight so I can get more rest in. The last week of Ben's TSY2, I definitely did the minimum since I was upping the weight and wanted to ensure I had at least 30 seconds of rest between each move and 45-60 seconds between each set.

Hello! Yesterday was a 4 mile easy run for me. Today was 5 miles total, 2 at tempo. Finished off with W4D2 of beginner strength. Going forward I’m still going to be doing tempo Tuesdays but I’m going to shift my goal pace. I’m actually going to slow it down because I decided to sign up for that half marathon I was eyeing at the end of May. Obviously, my goal pace for that is a lot different than trying to get a sub-30 5K so I’ll slow down my tempo a bit but increase the mileage. I might sub that out some weeks with hills because the course I’m looking at is decently hilly with one big hill at mile 12 (THANKS A LOT).

If you search the group it should come up. ETA here is the original post m.facebook.com/groups/1298368960295466/permalink/3177008499098160/?mibextid=Nif5oz

Kept it in check last night at our little party and only had 2 empanadas and one glass of wine (That's a big win for me!) 30 min spin + body pump + 10 min core and I'm done! breakfast was an egg + egg white scramble with 2 bare chicken tenders. And then my mom made scones and I had one. Worth it. lunch and dinner are tbd. Happy hump day!

Last group workout run last night (4 miles). The workout was pretty interesting: we split up into similar paces and after a 1/2 mile warm up got into a line and the person in the back had to sprint to the front, then a minute later the next person in the back would sprint up. It really helped the time/miles fly by!

Morning.
120 minute PZE ride with Wilpers 5 minute core with Olivia 5 minute stretch with Emma
Yoga tonight, much needed, length TBD.
I was pretty behind on cycling miles this month, so that helped immensely. Man, I love long rides.
I need to get the four straight days of trash eating out of my system. I had my usual protein bar and shake after for lunch. I'm air frying salmon right now too for salads for dinner. I have stuff to make chicken enchiladas too, but that'll be for tomorrow, maybe. The scale was finally trending down before we left for Syracuse, so I'd like to clean up my eating and get back to that.

Yesterday I took a rest day. I slept like crap and still wasn’t feeling 100% Today I took a 30 min low impact pop lanebreak just to move. My eyes feel so heavy. Took a covid test just in case - negative.

My Strava feed is full of Bay Area people's Tahoe ski runs right now LOL Sort of an active recovery day today. I didn't really want to run after doing 14 miles yesterday, but I also don't want to waste a day when I don't have to take anyone anywhere or be anywhere myself, so I split the difference and did Matty's Valentine's Day walk-and-talk, and then Wilpers' 20 minute pop punk (the one where he asked everyone on the live leaderboard to DM Tunde and ask her to be their valentine after class). 10 minute arms and light weights with JTR and 10 minute full body stretch with Hannah (prop assisted, it was great) and I'm done. For distance runners here, do any of you get sore shoulders/upper back? Any good remedies, aside from stretching/mobility and strength focus on those areas? Make sure you aren't leading with your head when you are running- that can lead to issues regardless of your activity, and it's easy to sneak up on you. Make sure you are warming up your lower and mid back. If those are tight, it can refer up. Thank you! Sorry for not replying sooner, work etc. etc. I appreciate the advice.

30 min Green Day run with Camila tonight. I ignored her call outs and just treated it as an easy run. I mainly chose it for the music which was great until DS1 decided to show me everything he has learned on the recorder since the beginning of time. 😐😬😂

not only did covid show up yesterday but so did CD1. good times for me, lol. I will do tundes arm day 3 today at some point but with lighter weights. I will also go for a walk. The upside of all of this for some reason is I have been eating on point while at home. Even if I can't taste it. yea?
