Ohio Issue 2 (Rec MJ) passes according to AP. I think whoever got this on the ballot at the same election as issue 1 is a strategic genius. Youth vote!

Ohio Issue 2 (Rec MJ) passes according to AP. Putting rec mj on the ballot in the same cycle as issue 1 seems like an idiotic miscalculation on the part of the anti-both folks Hahaha. Same brain.

I didn’t know weed was on the ballot until I was messaging a coworker in Ohio about voting this morning and I said “oh that makes me feel a lot better about issue 1”.
She did say the way issue 1 was worded was confusing and she was worried about unintentionally voting the wrong way.

Local election results for school board and city council are looking very good here in NM.
I was afraid to look since some candidates were supported by one of those book banning/parents rights groups. So I drove around and listened to the results on the radio.
I am thankful that my state makes it so easy to vote everytime. It is a privilege to go from my desk and back in less than 15 minutes.

Per WaPo: "Mississippi’s polls have closed after ballot shortages in the state’s most populous county prompted dueling legal claims. “Those still in line at the closing of polls are still legally entitled to cast a ballot,” said Elizabeth Jonson, spokeswoman for the secretary of state’s office, noting “there were conflicting court orders.”

I saw Beshear won re-election in Kentucky. Thank goodness. Cameron is/was the AG who fucked up (on purpose, most likely) with the grand jury for the cops who murdered Breonna Taylor.

I just had a mantra of "Yes on 1, 2, 5, 13." I even wrote in on the family calendar.

It's not looking good for me, but I exceeded my vote goal since turnout was so high. Focusing on the positive
I'm hella excited Issue 1 passed! Our school levy is passing by a slim margin but holding. 🤞🤞🤞 on that one!

Y'all. Y'all. Y'all. There's an actual solid chance Dems could take back the House from the repubs. On top of keeping the Senate. Maybe not much we can do when the governor can just veto everything, but fuck. What a glorious fuck you to him that would be!
FUCK YOU GLENN YOUNGKIN!

Now off to see what, besides the Governor, is on that ballot. “State statute requires the county to have ballots to accommodate 60% of a precinct's voters. Hinds County election commissioners said voter turnout has been so high, they have surpassed that percentage, forcing them to print more ballots and deliver them to the precincts that have run out. They couldn't estimate how many precincts ran out of ballots because calls have been coming in to the Hinds County Election Commission all day from poll managers asking for more ballots.“ www.wapt.com/amp/article/some-hinds-county-polling-locations-faced-ballot-shortages-long-lines/45769056

Sorry it didn't go your way tonight mrsweasley! Way to put yourself out there and take a chance. I'm sorry about your results too TheoV2. None of our scanners have been uploaded yet and we are only showing partial mail ballots and all of in person early voting. At last check we had right around 50% voter turn out so I think it could definitely change some of the current results for us. I'm mostly worried about the levy at this point.

"Democrat Dan McCaffery won the race for an open seat in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, a victory with implications for the future of abortion rights in the swing state. McCaffery’s victory over Republican Carolyn Carluccio has no impact on the Democratic majority on the court, where the party will now hold a 5-2 majority. McCaffery will fill the seat of Democratic Chief Justice Max Baer, who died last year." Our turnout was literally double what we normally get for the off year school board races, it's amazing! Currently I'm sitting at about 8850 votes vs about 12k for my opponents, but I'm really hoping to get up to 9K for the final totals. That would be 50% higher than my original vote goal

Whomp-whomp-vest (ETA this is good)
RICHMOND — Virginia voters resoundingly rejected Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s costly efforts to take control of the General Assembly in Tuesday’s elections, according to unofficial results — flipping the House of Delegates to Democratic control and preserving a blue majority in the state Senate that can block his conservative agenda and prevent Republicans from tightening limits on access to abortion. Democrats’ sweeping victories amounted to a sharp setback for Youngkin as he seeks to raise his national profile as a potential last-minute presidential contender and seemed to fit with a national trend that saw Democrats rally around the issue of protecting abortion rights. In Ohio, a measure to build abortion access protections into the state constitution was projected to pass Tuesday, and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear won reelection after hammering his Republican opponent for supporting the state’s total ban on abortions.

The casino ballot in Richmond was defeated! I'm annoyed it was put to a vote again but so glad to see RVA voted no.
Like voters said no once, do not ask again. Welp they did and voters said no with an even greater percentage!
