I can't decide what will produce more of a reaction: Lea Michele getting it, or not. It's really a win-win in terms of the Twitter experience.

Looks like Jane Lynch's departure was pushed up too. (I would love to know the inside details on those conversations.)

But why did Beanie leave? I saw something about she didn’t like the direction they were going to take the show… which way was that?

There was a post on DeuxMoi that she’s been unhappy and trying to get out of the show for awhile. Who knows if that’s true but it overall seemed like not a good fit.

I popped in here because I figured this would be the best place to discuss.
The Glee actor that spoke out against Lea a couple years ago (during the BLM summer) tweeted again about her after the news. I wonder if Jane leaving is related to their experience on Glee.
Also, I saw a Tiktok with the theory that Beanie’s departure was due to her strengths not being utilized, which led to her departure (potential resignation or dismissal?). She would shine in other ways (more physical comedy) but the way they chose to take the show highlighted her weaknesses.

This article has a lot of the details on what happened with Beanie: www.thedailybeast.com/inside-the-real-broadway-drama-over-lea-michele-replacing-beanie-feldstein-in-funny-girl?ref=scrollTL/DR version: It sounds like she was really insecure after getting bad reviews. She didn't like her understudy posting on social when she was filling in on days Beanie didn't perform. After she decided to leave, she did not like the Lea Michelle rumors. She stopped talking to show management directly and would only communicate through her reps. And then it continues with the show management writing off Lea Michelle as not the trash that she is but something about "snippiness." So clearly no good decisions are happening over there.

Broadway fans, could use your help! I'm taking my 13YO daughter on a kind of last min NYC trip the first week in Aug; we booked last night so now we want to get theater tickets. We were there in Nov and saw a lot of shows- Six, Hadestown, Moulin Rouge (my fav!!!) and Little Shop. We've seen Hamilton and Come From Away. Top of our list is Into the Woods- I want to book those tix today. We'd like to see one more show. What should we see? fwiw- going with my mom and SIL so there are 4 of us. TKTS is certainly an option!! My daughter has not seen Wicked but the rest of us have. My mom is interested in MJ My dd would also like to see Harry Potter I'm interested in Paradise Square What should our second show be? We just came from Beetlejuice and it was amazing. Hilarious and very talented cast. I also love the Marquis theater. We all had a blast. It has a big fan following so the crowd was fun.

I saw To Kill a Mockingbird this past weekend and was blown away. If you have the chance to see it on BWY or touring, don't miss it. It was incredible.
I saw it in Philadelphia on its tour and while I'm sure Jeff Daniels was amazing, Richard Thomas was born to play Atticus Finch.

I was able to see it at the Kennedy Center week before last and it was fantastic. The Scout from the Gregory Peck movie played the old lady neighbor with the flowers, thought that was awesome.

I'm SO MAD AT MYSELF for waiting too long to look into tickets for it at the Kennedy Center; for some reason I had it in my head it was running through September so thought I "had time". (I did not; it is gone)

There’s a blind on DeuxMoi that Patti LuPone is going to play the witch in Into the Woods! If they extend it, I really want to try to get to NYC to see it.

Not Broadway but musical…we’re on Prince Edward Island this week for vacation and took our girls to see the Anne of Green Gables musical. This is the longest running musical in the world. Not the best production of anything I’ve seen, but it was so so fun and sweet. The second it was over, one of my almost 6yo twins asked if we could come back the next night. Perfectly adorable for a vacation stop. So if you’re ever in the area, highly recommend.

Maybe a solo trip!

There’s a blind on DeuxMoi that Patti LuPone is going to play the witch in Into the Woods! If they extend it, I really want to try to get to NYC to see it. Saw Into the Woods 2 nights ago! It was excellent!!!! The cast! The singing! So great! The witch, played by Patina Miller, was flawless! She is stunning. Saw Beetlejuice last night. $80 seats from TKTS, our seats were great!!!! Better than our $160 seats for into the woods. It was such a fun show, we all loved it. Our flight home today was cancelled so we’re debating if we can swing another show. ETA- we saw Moulin Rouge. It's now my 3rd time. I don't know what it is about that show (I didn't care for the movie) but I think it's my absolute favorite. This was my first time seeing it since most of the OG left and they were excellent. Derek Klena exceeded expectations. I love the theater; everything about it. I even bought a Christmas Ornament LOL.
