I can’t even whatsit. I was just reading an article about the snowstorm. Like what, 4 weeks ago it was the hottest day ever. Now 15cm of snow?

L has been up for 7 hours and has had one 30 min nap. He is usually a much better sleeper than this during the day. He is tired but refusing.

I elevated the end of the crib with some books under the feet to help his awful night cough. He went to bed at 5pm because he of course didn’t really nap yesterday.
The little stinker slept through (woke at his two normal eating times but went back to sleep instead). I’m sure it’s just a fluke but holy hell its 5:45am here and my boobs are threatening to explode.

babybean your baby is crawling we can't have babies that big yet...I demand a recount. I don't think it will be much longer before L crawls. He is close to getting himself up on hands and knees, so he is trying. Also, he slides/scoots/almost army crawls all over the floor on his belly right now. I know, it’s madness. I want an immobile baby but she’s pretty dang cute motoring around. Her thighs are big and she can’t get into crawling position from sitting sometimes. 😭 Poof

A does the sliding and scooting and gets around and into everything. I’m afraid of the mischief when she’s actually crawling.

I can’t even whatsit. I was just reading an article about the snowstorm. Like what, 4 weeks ago it was the hottest day ever. Now 15cm of snow? Right?! It’s ridiculous. I’m hoping it’s gone soon. But of course G was super excited and put his boots on as soon as he realized there was snow.... I had to go out in the snow in my pajamas.

Add me to the list of babies who still spit up a ton. I’m beginning to think L will always smell like sour milk. We give him a bath and everything smells great...except his cheeks and chin, no matter how hard we scrub.
Re sleep training, we did CIO with DS1 and it was soooo worth it. This time around, we’ve done a modified CIO but L is so easy going he at most has cried for 15 minutes and then he will fall asleep. Honestly he’s so easy at night and overnight I’m not really too stressed. Nap training is our current struggle - it’s so much harder.
That said, our step is to get rid of the 3 am wake up. I know I shouldn’t complaint about one wake up, but it’s killing me now that I’m back at work. I feel utterly exhausted all of the time. I think I’ll start pushing the MOTN feeding back and soothing until we are at more like 4/5 am consistently.
Also we just had the worst night ever followed by the best night ever. It took DS1 2 days to get sick at preschool. Despite our efforts, L got sick too. So Monday night was miserable and he didn’t sleep at all. But then last night - I woke up at 5:30 and was worried because I hadn’t heard from him all night. Checked in - still asleep. He slept until 6:30 this morning! Officially my first full night of sleep in 6 months. It was amazing!

Yay for a full night of sleep sunshinedaisies! Mine must have gotten lost in the mail... I’d be okay with one wake up at this point. I feel like we’re probably headed for CIO in the future but I’m feeling very nervous about it.

How does L already have a preference for playing with anything other than his toys? There will be toys strewn all across the floor and he scoots himself all the way across the room to grab the mail that’s on the floor. H gave him a paper plate the other night and he played with it forever.

Oh my gosh, L just laughed for real for the first time tonight! My heart has officially melted. He’s done short little squeal laughs, but no real laugh until tonight. And the thing that finally caused this real laugh was... H kicking an empty pop can around the patio. This kid loves his recyclables.

After all the talk about schedules I realized that I should try a little harder to get E to nap during the day. She's been taking a good long nap around 10 but is tired long before that. It's just inconvenient. Anyway, when she started looking tired 1.5 hour after waking up so I wrapped her up and she had a 45 minute nap on my back. Still had a late morning nap and a pretty hefty afternoon nap. She went to bed at 7:30 instead of 6 but I put her down! And she didn't wake up! And is still asleep 2.5 hours later! It has been weeks of her not sleeping more than 40 minutes at a time or waking up the second I put her down and refusing to settle. Amazing. Sorry for the novel. She'll probably wake up now.

Hi friends, I'm sorry I've been a little MIA. Life has just been a little hectic. DS2 has added in another wakeup or two at night this past week but he's been super congested, so I have everything crossed that once he's feeling better, he'll sleep more soundly. For those of you that use the Dock-a-Tot, is it safe to use once they're rolling over? I've heard good things about it but I'm afraid we're out of the stage it's best for. Also, we're sort-of househunting. I just wish I had a magic 8 ball to tell me what the market is going to do, because as first-time homebuyers, I have a pit in my stomach about potentially buying at the very top of the market if we're about to have another bubble burst. We just live in an insanely expensive area, but we're so ready to buy and we do have a downpayment. Late but soooooo exciting. We are also trying to figure out the same thing - if the market is going to keep going up or level off (or even go down). We are also watching interest rates to see what they are going to do. Like if we wait and the market goes down, awesome! (Bc it was insane this summer). But if interest rates rise, the difference could easily be $1000 on the mortgage payment. We’ve basically been told that certain areas here are “safer” than others and will likely just keep going up. Like we live in a good school district so people are always trying to enter the market here. But it also means the longer we wait, the higher prices gets. It seems unsustainable but looking at trends, it really does look like the market just keeps going up. So frustrating as a first time home buyer. Are you guys looking in the same area you are in now? Right (re: interest rates)??? We talked with several people and it just sounds like best case scenario is that prices level off and inventory goes up a little, and even then interest rates are slowly rising. I really want to stay in our school district if possible, so we're starting in our area. In fact, we're putting an offer in tomorrow morning on the condo we looked at over the weekend and again this morning. It would be such a good fit for us with the exception of it being a little small and the fact that it's a condo, but I think that's just the reality of our price range. Where are you guys looking, if at all? You could come down by us

Owen has started giving kisses and it’s basically the cutest😍 of course DD’s preschool sent home a note that there has been a case of HFM already (it’s the second week of school🤦🏼♀️) so I’m expecting disaster to hit our house veryyyy shortly. You know, just in time for my out of state wedding I fly to on Friday.

Oh hey. I got lost and missed this thread. I can’t figure out how to sleep train in our sardine can House. Any peep will wake up the toddler.
We started a few solids here, but the orange spit up wasn’t worth it. Fucking spit up, man.

Oof. I had accidental dairy at lunch. I accidentally ate SO's burrito that had sour cream on it. Just when I thought nights would get better.

Our house is t that small but we are all on the top floor so the bedrooms are very close together.

Omg to snow. I can’t even fathom. It’s been in the 90s here this week. Stay...warm? friends.
Th baby has been up every 30 minutes since I put him down 3 hours ago. I’m having flashbacks to DS1 but praise God this baby will let DH soothe him.
I’m sure the baby is feeling my anxiety over putting an offer on a condo this morning. We may not hear back for a couple of days and I’m just a nervous wreck.

Good luck katietopaz! We pulled out winter jackets, toques and mitts and boots today. I feel like I just put them away. Because I did. IN MAY. And my birthday is on Monday. There has been snow on my birthday a lot of my life so I shouldn’t be surprised. I’m hoping we get a nice warm week or two soon.
