With all the 5 year olds graduating to kindergarten DH and I decided to let DS1 stop napping at daycare and be one of the "big kids". I am seriously regretting this decision as yesterday is threenagering hard today because he woke early.

leatherpants snowmoon The puking g will get better one you start solids. DS1 got better at 6 months and was mostly done puking at 10ish months which is when we could stop his meds.

Oh hello my people and PLS talk. leatherpants You’re living my life again. DS2 is now on about a week of waking up every 3ish hours. He’s still congested but I don’t know if it’s that or if we’re in bad habit land now. And he’s consistently busting out of the swaddle and I think waking himself up, so I need to try the Zipadee Zip. I don’t think I’ve quite exhausted all my options, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we land in CIO-land once he turns six months old.

You have given me life while I clean out the car seat tonight because I can’t take the smell anymore. We’ve started solids but he’s not actually eating much so the hope light burns on.

DD is crawling and started pulling up. It’s created a new set of problems so we’ve been adjusting. Also not sleeping great and she’s really taken to food and gets mad if she’s in her high chair without some. This is too much too soon.

My mom is all “she might be an early walker like you!” and I’m horrified wondering why she thinks that’s a good thing.

Oh my goodness babybean that is amazing and I'm sure it's fun, but I am not in a hurry for a mobile baby. I sometimes feel like DS should be more advanced. You know because he's not sitting at 6 months. Then I'm like no I'll wait.

I tried to get DS to sit today lol he kind of just folded and tipped over (which he thought was hilarious). He’s got a giant noggin so tricky to hold up.

So idk what to think. I guess our first night off sleep training was a success. In the past he's put himself to sleep before but not consistently and very rarely recently. So last night I laid him down and he was quiet for several minutes, fussed for < 10 min, never escalated to real crying, and was asleep in 15 min. On one hand I'm like YAY!!! But then I know the crying nights will come and I don't want them to start when DH is working.

I mean I feel like no actual sleep training happened. But 🤷 I am not even going to bother hoping that it won't need to happen.

Hugs to everyone gearing up for sleep training. Having gone through it with DS, my only hard-earned lesson is that anyone who is still nursing should put DH in charge of evenings. BFing makes sleep training very difficult IMO. Better to have mama and her scent completely out of the room when you're trying to get baby to STTN. Also its nice payback for all the night wakeups you've done alone since birth ;-) babybean, I can't believe you have a crawler!! So awesome and scary at the same time, lol! DD is sitting and can get around surprisingly well just by rolling, lol. She can get across the living room for a toy just by rolling like a log over and over again. Its hysterical.

+1 to having a baby that pukes up randomly every time he eats. I’m not sure what’s worse...the fact that I’m constantly covered in some type of bodily fluid, or that I’m becoming desensitized to the smell.🤢 I’d also like both of my children to stop waking up in the middle of the night. I think when J wakes up, he wakes DD up too.

Hi friends, I'm sorry I've been a little MIA. Life has just been a little hectic. DS2 has added in another wakeup or two at night this past week but he's been super congested, so I have everything crossed that once he's feeling better, he'll sleep more soundly. For those of you that use the Dock-a-Tot, is it safe to use once they're rolling over? I've heard good things about it but I'm afraid we're out of the stage it's best for. Also, we're sort-of househunting. I just wish I had a magic 8 ball to tell me what the market is going to do, because as first-time homebuyers, I have a pit in my stomach about potentially buying at the very top of the market if we're about to have another bubble burst. We just live in an insanely expensive area, but we're so ready to buy and we do have a downpayment. Late but soooooo exciting. We are also trying to figure out the same thing - if the market is going to keep going up or level off (or even go down). We are also watching interest rates to see what they are going to do. Like if we wait and the market goes down, awesome! (Bc it was insane this summer). But if interest rates rise, the difference could easily be $1000 on the mortgage payment. We’ve basically been told that certain areas here are “safer” than others and will likely just keep going up. Like we live in a good school district so people are always trying to enter the market here. But it also means the longer we wait, the higher prices gets. It seems unsustainable but looking at trends, it really does look like the market just keeps going up. So frustrating as a first time home buyer. Are you guys looking in the same area you are in now?

The results of me braving DH's deep dark jungle of a garden this morning. Looks like I will be making pizza sauce once the tomatoes ripen.

Add me to the puking baby struggles. I rarely wear an outfit that doesn't have some kind of baby puke on it. If I change my shirt, the next one will be covered in it 5 seconds later. It can be 2 hours since L ate and he will spit up a puddle of puke. There have been several times in the store where L has puked a puddle on the floor and I have nothing to clean it up with because I do not want the germs on the burp clothes that I need to keep using...I hate when that happens. Also, I am sick of the smell of it. We have started some solids, but it hasn't helped much yet, the puke just has color to it now.
I did some sleep training with L in August and we were doing really well. Since I have been back to work the last month things have gone down hill sleep wise. He has been getting up at 3:00 most nights and it is hard to get him back to sleep. Sometimes I put him down drowsy but awake and other times he cries until he falls asleep. He wasn't using a pacifier until about 4 weeks ago. Daycare had one of his that they started giving him, and I think he liked because he was teething. He doesn't seem overly reliant on it for sleeping, but I think there may be some correlation between him starting to take the pacifier and him waking up more in the middle of the night. We are moving this week, so I don't think we will be back on track with sleep stuff for a week or two.

babybean your baby is crawling we can't have babies that big yet...I demand a recount. I don't think it will be much longer before L crawls. He is close to getting himself up on hands and knees, so he is trying. Also, he slides/scoots/almost army crawls all over the floor on his belly right now.
