Painted the last shade of grey this morning! The white mountain tops and a few small areas to touch up of the all-over light grey are all that's left I think!!
We have a meeting this afternoon to go over and finalize plans for finishing our basement. I hope I can keep my cool when this project actually gets going.

Less than a month of work left. My planned last day is 9/14 even if baby hasn't arrived yet so since today's the 15th I'm at less than a month.
I should also have 2 personal days I don't use in the next month so I may use those on 9/13 & 9/14 since DS's 2nd birthday is 9/13.
This is really making me wish I knew when DS2 would arrive. DS was almost a week late but that really means nothing for this guy. Will I make it to my planned last day of work? Or is he going to surprise us earlier? Do I plan a birthday dinner for DS that weekend? Or will I end up being in the hospital? I wish there was a way to know for sure!!!!

Finished basement is going to be awesome tbirdlove !! I absolutely love having ours. Now we just need to get rid of the pool table we never use to make the non-TV part more of a play room. Especially since DS is old enough he'll need to be entertained while we try to watch football!! Do we get to see another pic of the mountains soon?

Nymeria yes! The finished basement is going to be great! It's just going to be interesting timing. Today we scheduled the delivery of materials on the soonest day they had available - 9/17 and I'm due 9/19! 😂 I just have to remind myself that I literally should not have to do anything for this. The contractors will have the garage code and will come in, go downstairs and do all the work to specifications already previously decided. We can always postpone if it's too much - they're very aware of the birth and baby situation and are willing to be very flexible. And yes, bye bye pool table!

Those look awesome tbirdlove!!! Did you decide if you were going to add teal mountains too or use it more as the sky? Because I think those look awesome as is!

I'm quite impressed with myself actually! I decided to just have the teal in the curtains and bedding and maybe some other touches around the room. MH also thought the all grey would transition more easily in the future without being locked in to having the teal.

Yikes...I weigh myself weekly on my week change day and I gained 5lbs this week. I had stalled a bit the past 3 weeks and the swelling I had with DS1 has appeared with a vengeance the past couple days (been wondering when this was going to happen) so I know the reason for it, but it's still not fun to see the number jump so much!!

I can't really sit up straight these days. I'm often leaning to the left because DS has decided that his ass/feet will take up space in the right side of my rib cage. I wouldn't be mad if like, he tried to take up space going straight out instead of off to the side.

Well, I managed to take a bump photo this morning. Then I cried. I look like a f*ing train wreck. Sunken, tired looking eyes with big bags under them, face and skin just looks lifeless, hair is a dirty, flat-on-my-head mess, I'm pretty huge. Not feeling good today.

Ob let me opt out of cervical check today after the nurse told me she will likely do one. Love my Ob 🙌 I don’t see the point at 37w unless I was feeling serious contractions lately or some other sign of early labor.

Love my Ob 🙌 I don’t see the point at 37w unless I was feeling serious contractions lately or some other sign of early labor. I was reading through the pamphlet my OBs office gave me at the beginning of pregnancy and was happy to see that they will do one at 36 weeks and the rest are optional for non-RCS. I was never given this option at my last practice. I know that ideally they'd probably all be optional. The cervical checks suck so hard.

I may opt out this time until maybe 39 or 40 weeks. I feel like it just gave me false hope last time!

I finally hit the 30 days out from estimated start of leave and was able to submit my LOA paperwork to the company my company uses to manage leave. It was stressing me out to wait until now to do it so it's nice to have been able to get it done today!!

Nymeria we also are trying to decide what to do bday wise for DS2. His bday is the 12 and I'm due the 17. It's only his 3rd bday so we might just do a Arty at school because I'm going to be so huge aND cranky, but then also makes me sad because he loves parties. Fwiw I think most people who go earlier second time around are typically only a couple days earlier, but who knows! I'm expecting a due date baby because ds1 was 40+4 and DS2 was 40+2.

As for cervical checks I know mine has never closed up all the way, so I've likely been at 2 cm this whole time. Lol

Ugh I feel like my baby is taking up too much of my breathing space lately! It’s actually kind of funny, I’ll get short of breath so I’ll try to compensate by consciously taking a nice deep breath, then I’ll get a kick from my baby like “hey! I’m in here, get your diaphragm out of my way!”

I am a terrible sleeper to begin with, but these past few weeks I just feel like I can never get a good night's sleep. Last night I couldn't fall asleep until after 11, woke up at 1 for awhile, 3, 4, and have been awake since 5. We are driving 5 hours today and my husband needs to work in the car so I'm going to have to get creative to keep myself awake.

brenna - Sleep is so hard towards the end. I always hate when people ask how you are, you reply tired, and they say something along the lines of "if you think your tired now just wait until baby gets here". That always pissed me off because honestly I slept better after DS was born than I did towards the end of pregnancy. Even if he was waking up every 2-3 hours overnight that was better than me waking up every hour to roll over and having a hard time falling back to sleep each time! Good luck with the drive. That's a long drive even when you're not tired. I would definitely be pushing the limit on caffeine today if I had to do that drive.

I've already been having a hard time focusing at work but this morning started with a basically company-wide reply all debacle (someone included the wrong distribution list on an email which resulted in 100+ replies of "I don't think I should have received this" or "Please stop replying to all") so I'm even more distracted than usual. So ready for the day to be over and it have the weekend start!

With my first, I slept 1000% better after she was born than I did in my last month of pregnancy. Even with the wake ups to nurse, at least it was QUALITY sleep in between wake ups. I feel like this is something no one ever tells you. I also hated the advice to "get rest now before the baby comes". A - pregnancy sleep is crap. B- you can't "bank" sleep, it's not like sleeping now will help a month from now when the baby comes, and C - I'd rather get out of the house now, while it's easier to go to the movies, go for dinner, game nights with friends, all of that is so much harder when attached to a nursing babe 24-7.

I plan on avoiding cervical checks unless I'm past my EDD and want to get a membrane sweep. Last time I had a couple in my last few weeks and they just made me frustrated that I wasn't progressing at all.

My 36 week check-up next Friday includes the GBS swab so since I already have to be half undressed I may let the OB do one this week just to have a baseline idea of where I am. After that I may try to decline until 39 weeks. I realize baby will come whenever he wants, but I'm hoping to make it past DS1's 2nd birthday on the 13th which is exactly 39 weeks for me.
