I am a little worried right now. Major TMI warning: I went to the bathroom this morning and there was some blood on the TP. I am trying not to freak out. I have an appointment at 10:45 so I am going to see what my dr says. I also haven’t felt baby boy move yet this morning. If he would move, I would probably feel better. My stepmom is supposed to watch G while I am at the dr anyway so at least I have a plan just in case I need to spend extra time with the dr today.

Hopefully it's nothing marygracerich or maybe it's just you starting to lose your mucus plug? Glad you already have a doctors appointment set up this morning to check. I have maybe slept 2 or 3 hours the past few nights. DH is on all these new medications from the VA so once he takes them he sleeps soundly but it's really hard to get him up in the morning. All this is leading to fights every morning so I start my day off worse than just being sleep deprived. I'm not even sure how to fix this, ugh.

We came back from vacation a couple days early since we were all going stir crazy. So MIL is going to take DD to the children’s museum this morning while MH and I get a head start on tackling repainting our upstairs bathroom. Our fan hasn’t been the greatest in there and we now have mold on our ceiling and walls. So we have to scrub that off (read: MH has to scrub it off) and then repaint the ceiling and walls and trim. Luckily it’s not a huge bathroom so it’s not going to be a huge job. But it will require me climbing up onto things to get to the trim since MH sucks at painting trim

Holy crap. Literally. The midwife suggested I take magnesium citrate for the constipation. I asked about my Smooth Move tea but she thought that would be too harsh. Um....the mag citrate was pretty harsh! But it definitely did the job. I drank some last night and then this morning, I feel about 10 lbs lighter. I would have done it on the weekend if I knew how strong of a reaction my body would have but whatever. She said it can also help with insomnia and anxiety, which I don't really feel like are problems right now for me but good to know also for after baby comes when I am worried about PPA again. (and constipation too of course)
In other news, she said to not be surprised if some of the docs in the practice suggest an induction at 39 weeks due to my age but she doesn't feel it is necessary. I may try to schedule some of my later appts with her too and maybe not the OBs. I feel like this practice used to have more midwives and less OBs but they seem to be going in the other direction now. I'll also get a NST at my next appt, which is apparently in some of the new guidelines for AMA, which she also told me the major national organizations can't really agree on right now!

easternshoregirl, I've heard that about the NST too. I am AMA and my doctor hasn't scheduled one NST and I'm on every 2 weeks appointments until the end so I guess she doesn't follow the new rules.

My midwife said she had just gone to a big conference about high risk pregnancies and basically she just said no one agrees on what to do! Have you had any extra ultrasounds?

easternshoregirl I don't think so. They moved my growth scan up a few weeks but didn't do anything additional. I'm not sure if any of my ultrasounds at the beginning were "extra" or not but with my history of miscarriage they may have been for that and not for being AMA.

marygracerich hope you get some reassurance at your appointment I'm sorry you're dealing with med changes for your H sarahh. Do they think this side effect is permanent or just very sleepy as they adjust dosage? I know it can be frustrating but I doubt he's doing it on purpose. I thought about going to the office this morning but I really have a lot to do grading wise and am more productive at home. Maybe I'll stop by the office after my OB appointment tomorrow.

jessijean I hope it's just for the few weeks when he gets used to the medicine. He always said that he feels like they try to drug him up which they do in some cases but I think these meds he really needs so it's probably just an adjustment period. The timing is just bad since I'm super hormonal and ready to have this baby already.

We got our sneak peak for our maternity pictures from yesterday and they turned out pretty good! I can't wait to see the rest! My fasting glucose levels have been too high, even after increasing my meds last week but this morning it was perfect. I have about 1 "good" number a week so I'm not in the clear but I feel better that today was a good number. I'm high risk due to AMA and GD and I will be having weekly NSTs when I switch to weekly appointments in January. My OB also mentioned inducing at 38 weeks due to AMA back in the first trimester, but she hasn't mentioned it again. For many reasons I do not want to be induced so we'll see what she says... If there is an actual reason I'll be more open to it, but "just because" is not one of them.

I’m in the waiting room now. I am nervous but I think I will be ok. I haven’t have any bleeding since first thing this morning and he has moved a few times in the last 2 hours.

Today was a preschool day so even though we were ready to get out the door at 7:30 we had to wait around until 8:30 to actually leave. And then, go figure, we were still late. Wtf children.
It is my first day in a couple weeks with no appointments or anything so I am catching up on housework and it is glorious!

I haven’t heard from my OB office about my three hour gd test, so I’m assuming no news is good news. I doubt they would wait this long if I failed, I heard I failed the one hour within two days. marygracerich I hope they are able to reassure you! Glad your little one moved around for you.

You are doing the right thing by getting checked and there’s a ton of benign reasons why you could have a little bleeding right now. I bet the bleeding also brought back some feelings from earlier in your pregnancy when you had bleeding. I’m still not over mine from almost 6 years ago w DS1. It’s just the worst.

Mag citrate is so strong. We give that to our patients at work who are seriously constipated and it bombs it out of them every time

Love it aprilz81!! Hope all is well marygracerich! Nothing too exciting today. DS is at preschool this morning so DD and I just went out to the post office quick to mail out our last mailable Christmas cards (just have a few left to hand out in person) and pick up a couple small packages. Otherwise, DS has his last gymnastics class late this afternoon so I’ll take him to that! My extended family Christmas is coming up on the 23rd so I just asked in our chat today if we know what we should bring yet, turns out my aunties want me in charge of red solo cups in case I go into labour so that makes things easy 😂 I said I’ll freeze extra of any baking I do over the next couple weeks too!

aprilz81 love the pictures!! You look amazing and I love your curls My hair is naturally curly, but not super defined. When I have professional pictures taken I go and have someone take a curling iron to my hair, I never learned how to do it to myself! It is worth the $15ish to let a pro do it...

Hi! First of all thank you all for the positive vibes. Everything is ok but it was a tiny bit of an adventure. My dr decided to do an internal exam and do my swabs. She figured why wait the extra week for the swab if I am already going to be undressed. The exam showed that my cervix is locked up tight and no blood was found at all. She did an ultrasound. Baby boys heartbeat was nice and strong. She was a little concerned that he didn’t move that much this morning so she decided to hook me up to a contraction monitor and fetal heart rate monitor. He was being feisty so a few minutes in she had to completely reposition the monitor because he moved away from it. She put me on it for 20 minutes and wanted me to press a button every time he moved. When she came back into the room she asked if I was ok. I said I was fine. She said “oh because you are contracting every minute or so.” 😮 I did have some pain but I honestly thought it was gas pain brought on by my nerves. She think that I haven’t had enough water. She told me that she does not think I am anywhere near labor. She wants me to relax a little today and drink a ton of water. She also said that if I happen to go into labor in the next week (which she seriously doubts) she would have me try for a vaginal delivery because this baby is so much smaller than G was. As she was looking at the contraction monitor there was a very brief moment where I thought she was going to send me to the hospital. She thankfully says it’s unnecessary right now. My plans for today are now to sit down and relax and drink my water. TL/DR: I am fine. Baby is fine. I am having contractions but it’s because I didn’t drink enough water. The blood means absolutely nothing at this point.

rebeccabunch It definitely reminded me of all the bleeding I had at the beginning! TW: twin loss It also reminded me that we lost this babies twin when I went for the check up during that time. It made me so nervous going to the dr today. End TW I am now laying on my couch relaxing and drinking water.

Hi people! Well I finished teaching today & I only have one more week!! The kids brought me cake for my birthday which was yesterday. I submitted my maternity leave request to my admin & hopefully all that is ok with her. It’s drizzly & cold today so I’m snuggled up under a blanket watching tv & eating lunch while DD naps.
Also— I’m watching Survivor & it’s the episode where they bring loved ones out & the reward challenge is time together. I’m literally bawling watching everyone get reunited with their people.

marygracerich well that is certainly an adventure for the morning. Drink that water and relax! My blood pressure and urine were completely fine this morning. No explanation for the couple days of elevated pressures. I sort of feel like an idiot but DH keeps reminding me they were seriously elevated. I’m supposed to check it daily and call if it gets to 150/90. And I’ll get lab results tomorrow. But I guess it was just a fluke couple of days.
