I got my appointment scheduled. January 11th, I'll be exactly 9 weeks and they will be doing an ultrasound 🙌. I should bring MH, right? This is your first? I like it when H can go with me. They will be able to see the heartbeat. 😊

catspajamas2, yes- although the the cell-free DNA test offers more info than previous tests, it is still just a screening test (not diagnostic) so they are confirming that everything looks good with the NT scan. (although if you come up as low risk for the blood test it's unlikely that they will find anything abnormal when they do the scan.)

Thanks vvvvvfee, that's exactly how my doctor put it, but then I googled and it seemed not to be the standard. I should know not to google these things by now.

catspajamas2, i think it does depend on the practice. my OB does the cell-free DNA test on everyone (i am in a very high cost-of-living area with a lot of older moms), but i have heard of some practices only offering it if you're high risk or AMA. it is more accurate than the older test, so less invasive follow-up testing is needed, but i guess there may still be insurance issues for some people if they are low risk. also, ACOG is still recommending the conventional test as the first-line screening for low-risk women.

Does anyone have any anecdotes on being able to hear the heartbeat earlier than 10 weeks on an at home Doppler? I am tempted to start trying at 9 weeks. I was able to hear dd at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy.

I think it would so neat to be able to hear it at home.

I've heard it's best to try it for the first time right after an appointment where you've just heard the HB. And also that you usually have to rub the want a lot lower down on your pubic area than you'd think. I probably won't try it until closer to 12 weeks. I'm super anxious by nature.

I'm actually happy about being sleepy so early in the evening. My regular work hours are 5a-1:30p, so I wake up at 3:30am. I'm in the middle of some time off, but I go back to work on Sunday. My usual bedtime is 6:30pm, and I usually take melatonin. Since that's a no go now I assume, I'll be happy to naturally be sleepy so early. Yay supplement free sleepiness 😂😂😂.

Add me to the super hungry list! Although the past couple evenings I've had some minor queasiness, but overall I'm eating a lot more compared to my last pregnancy. My OB doesn't want me to come back for another beta until Thursday, which is one week after my first draw. This is weird right? Everyone else I know has gone after 2-3 days to check for doubling. I guess it doesn't matter too much, but I'm anxious to make sure things are rising appropriately.

Congratulations! I'm still processing my bumped up due date (and can't quit you guys) and it's been a week. Take some tine to process, it's big news! Don’t quit us! I agree! My first's Edd was changed from 1/2 to 12/29 and I stuck with the January group. You should stay here

I really think the light nausea I've had is post nasal drip. I've noticed my allergy symptoms have picked up, like from 10 DPO on. I read somewhere that's normal, sinus symtoms and such to be exacerbated.

I had some bleeding today. Called the RE's office and she said the monitor it overnight and call tomorrow if it is still going on. Just light spotting right now. So stressful. :-(

I'm really hoping that all is well imapenguin and klw. I had light bleeding with both my boys. It messes with your head so much. So ..... I'm an emotion wreck. I get so angry or crying everyday. I've never been like this with my pregnancies. I can usually keep things in check, but the crazy can come out.

I'm also finding myself really emotional. I got upset with MH for eating this Pepperidge farm caramel apple swirl toast that I bought for myself. He was eating it last night with ice cream lol. I almost started crying.

I almost started crying. MH drank the last sprite a few days ago and I definitely cried about it. He felt so bad and I was like, it’s really not a big deal, I don’t know why I’m crying. But please go get some more right now. He came home with 4 12 packs and I drank 1 and haven’t wanted anymore since.

Thinking about you klw and imapenguin. I have had light bleeding early in all 3 pregnancies and even though I tell myself this is normal (for me), it is really scary every time. My doctor has always been willing to do an ultrasound when I'm spotting, maybe you could request the same?

I have an ultrasound scheduled for Thursday and since I’m not sure of my dates I declined another. I didn’t want to risk there not being anything to see and causing myself more worry. Based on LMP, I would have been not quite 7 weeks when the bleeding started, and I could be up to a week behind that based on past ovulation dates.

I went to the store for mouthwash and gift bags. Came home with those and also string cheese, smartfood popcorn, and the little Pillsbury cookies with reindeer faces on them. 🤔 cookies are in the oven. Oops.
