I only did half day kinder, so we didn't nap. I did half day too, but we did nap time. Or rest time maybe. I had an Aladdin nap mat. I'm laughing that you remember that.

I'm hoping once we convert from toddler to full size bed it will go easier. FX. Josie didn't give us any trouble when we moved to the bigger bed, but she would tell us during our bedtime routine that she preferred the little bed and she wished she could still sleep in there.

They definitely do nap at day care to give the teachers a break, but also I think it's their lunch time, too.

Bradley no longer naps (except maybe dozing off in the car on occasion) and he is in bed by 7:30 every night, asleep almost immediately. Like mwhip, I’m afraid to say it aloud for fear of jinxing it, but bedtime is like clockwork in our house. That is something we just don’t budge on for either child. The other night we offered to let B stay up ‘late’ for a movie and at 8 o’clock he said he was tired and asked to go to bed. 🤷🏻♀️ I feel like the DCPs push naps bc it’s a break for the workers—same reason moms love naps! This is us, too. We start a 6:30 bathtime/7:30 bedtime when the kids are 8 weeks old. No deviation unless we're out at a wedding or some holiday family party, and lately "campouts" for Dude as a reward for good listening. Then it's lights out at 9.

I remember because I loved it, but also I had something happen to me where it was involved. I had it at home and it was like a sleeve over a foam piece. I was inside of the sleeve but on top of the foam watching tv. My sister hit my hand somehow and I had a blood bluster under my thumb nail that popped. It was very traumatic and I remember being very upset about blood getting on my mat. I don’t remember a lot of things but random stupid things like this I do.

Cadence hates her toddler bed. She keeps asking for a bigger one. She's just getting too tall for it. She sleeps great in my bed and I think it's because she can stretch out.

Do kids still nap in K? I remember doing that as a kid. At carters school in kindergarten they have rest time on mats after lunch. Carter never fell asleep but some kids still took naps every day.

I didn't realize it could be a law. Hmmm. I'll have to check if it is here. The older they get, the less time it is, but until Kindergarten, I think it's at least an hour. Our school is 'dark' from 1-3. Kids have to stay on their mat for a bit but then they can get up and read a book or color as long as they are quiet. S naps about 2/3 of the time at school. He almost never naps st home anymore

I'm hoping once we convert from toddler to full size bed it will go easier. FX. Maybe she has to be good at bedtime to get the new fancy bed?

melaniesue Layla goes to bed fairly easily now, but we have to be really strict on maintaining a specific bedtime (730) and routine. Then once she is in bed, we had to be pretty firm on making her stay in her bed. If she got out of bed we immediately put her back into bed and didn't give into any stalling requests. No more books, songs, drinks ect. We say the same prayer and same three songs every night, and she is usually yawning and rolling to her side by the time we get to the third song. I think it has a pavlovian effect to hear exactly the same thing every night. She also rarely naps at daycare. Just rests on her cot till the other kids are asleep and then her teachers let her play quietly.

I liked turning 30. My favorite age was 23, but I've been pretty happy with all the others.
