Ds has a play date today. It's weird to ask that mom if she knows where the kids put the play butter right? I still can't find it and it's driving me insane. I promise I won't actually ask 😂
My plan for the holidays is to maintain my weight loss, so far so good! I haven't been keeping up with my walking. My excuses are bringing dd out in the cold and nap jail. I really need her to consolidate her naps.

I put the flannel sheets and duvet cover on and it was heaven. Mh slept downstairs on the futon because he's sick and coughing. I should feel bad but I was so excited to have the entire bed to myself on a new sheet night, plus bonus points for flannel. That feels like a confession. Sorry, not sorry, poor sick husband.

Cracking up at you nonchalantly working missing butter into the convo Lakes. I took a vacation day today (really a comp day from last week when I worked all 5 days) and we’re going to see Santa! My expectations are low for the picture but I’m still excited. Currently watching the Grinch with DS instead of getting ready to leave. I’m hoping to maintain over the holidays too lakes. I’ve been at my happy number since May which is maintainable, not too low, and not too high but I haven’t worked out in 2 months and I do not like how I’m feeling as a result. M and I went for a run last night and I’m hoping I can get some momentum going and figure out how to get a few workouts in a week once we get through the holidays.

I hope you have fun seeing Santa carrots! I agree with a lot of what you said. I'd like to knock off another 10 pounds to put be back in the grad school weight range but my current weight is probably easier to maintain. I'm excited that I fit in stuff that I haven't worn since being pregnant with ds and actually feeling good in them. I am starting to feel a bit blah since I'm missing the exercise so I really need to figure out a cold weather routine too. The play date went well. It's so fun to see ds interacting with other kids since their imaginative play skills have really taken off. I successfully transferred dd from the car to crib! I was never able to do that with ds.

I hate that feeling when you know something *should* be there but you can't find it Lakes. I feel you. I swear the last time we moved houses I lost a pair of dress pants in transit. To this day it irks me. Have fun seeing santa carrots! Hopefully you're surprised with a good pic. Our family is recovering from the stomach bug. B is mostly back to his normal self, but hasn't had his regular appetite and still has loose diapers. I feel like this diarrhea is lasting forever. What gives? Also, if he has 2 diarrhea's at daycare, he gets sent home and can't come back the next day, so it's especially frustrating (although I get the rule, for sure). I'm just struggling on how to predict whether his next BM is going to be normal or not. Do we send him in tomorrow and chance having him get sent home? Ugh. Decisions decisions. I also haven't pulled the trigger on DDs christmas gift yet. I'm waffling between some big plastic Doc Mcstuffins or Paw Patrol monstrosity, a dollhouse or a PBK everywhere chair. I'm so indecisive lately.

ellabee my vote would be dollhouse. I had one when I was younger and remember it well. I'd use my brother's G.I. Joes to play house 😂 I don't remember most of the other random Christmas presents. However, a kid is probably going to love a giant monstrosity sooooo I'm torn. This is where I confess I've already started scoping out dollhouses for a future gift giving holiday.

Sil is driving me crazy again. She's complaining about my nephew's really awful skin and eczema, so bad that they're keeping him in baby mittens 24/7 due to scratching. He's been stuffy/wheezy for 1.5 months. He was so inconsable at daycare today she had the grandparents pick him up early. He spits up a ton which pretty normal for 5 months, god knows my kids puked enough to fill the Pacific Ocean. She thinks he just inherited his dad's bad skin and the stuffiness is a daycare problem. Which might all be true BUT he was diagnosed with a dairy allergy...and she still eats dairy. His symptoms scream allergy to me. "Cow's milk sensitivity or allergy can cause colic-like symptoms, eczema, wheezing, vomiting, diarrhea (including bloody diarrhea), constipation, hives, and/or a stuffy, itchy nose." Check, check, and check. I have not asked about his poop situation. This weekend I saw her eat a bagel with cream cheese, the Christmas cookies (straight up 4lbs of butter and 2lbs of cream cheese), and then have pizza for lunch. On thanksgiving she had all of the dairy laden sides. When we were talking about his skin and I saw her eating all the dairy I even asked her about it. She said she just limits it, i.e. no milk in her coffee and avoids ice cream. That's not how this works right? Don't they tell you to cut out everything? Paging ellabeeShe's having my inlaws take him to the doctors tomorrow for the itchy skin and congestion. I'm trying to think of a way to nicely tell her "heyyyyy about that dairy allergy" but feel some sort of way bringing it up again after I asked three days ago and she gets super sensitive about everything. Or maybe just have mil ask the doctor? I'm totally being nosy about it but the poor little guy is legit miserable.

Ugh. That sounds terrible Lakes. I definitely think you’re onto something. Maybe it’s best if you can have your in laws ask the pedi... If he has a dairy intolerance or sensitivity, it’s not going to help if SIL is only cutting out milk and ice cream.

Work is going to be awful all month and possibly even longer. I'm so upset. I'm doing really crappy work too
E started making these weird clicking noises with her tongue today. So cute and I was home with her and she wasn't doing it yesterday.

Dd is sick. She's so stuffy/snotty and pathetic. She woke up at 4:30 and didn't really go back to sleep. Poor little thing. Probably the bad cold ds had last week. On one hand I feel awful but on the other hand, I hope they both got their winter cold out of the way before Christmas.

Lakes mine just got over colds and I was just telling H that it’s too far away from Christmas so they’re going to get another one and probably be sick then. Good timing on your kids’ part! Hope she feels better soon though. A sick baby is so sad!

Lakes, what did the docs say about your nephew? meeggaannw - hows your mama? I get the impression that it was not brought up because the answer I got from both sil and the inlaws is "doctor prescribed a hydrocortisone cream". Actual conversation when we had the inlaws over for dinner the other night Mh: she's not sticking to the dairy free thing. You should check that out. Fil: she only eats cheese! Mh: that's not how it works. Fil: He just has sensitive skin. You know what I think the congestion is? Daycare. The sheet said he's going to get sick 10-15 times the first year. Now it's awkward because I don't want to keep bringing it up because it's a fine line between trying to be helpful and appearing criticizing another mom who just so happens to be your sil. Hopefully it did get brought up and she doesn't want to say anything about doing it wrong because she's a perfectionist. I don't admit every time I have a parenting slip upbecause it's embarrassing so I get that.

Mh is home sick. I left the sick baby with him. Ds and I went to toddler time and now we're having lunch at the diner. I'll probably hit up Target before we head home. It's nice having some one on one time but every once in awhile I think "oh crap. Where did I forget the baby?!"

Are you guys getting gifts for your SOs "from" your babes? I’m undecided on this. It’s hard enough to think of a gift from me but I guess I like the idea of them picking something out for him in the future. So maybe this year I’ll just sign their name on one of the gifts?

My big girl picked out a book for him (to read to her). I may do something similar for A.
