I had a MW appointment this morning and everything is going well. Heard the hb and scheduled my anatomy scan for early January. And I only gained 1lb in the last month, yay! I’m really not concerned with it but after gaining so much with DD and then a lot at the last couple visits, that’s a relief.

I'm on day 5 of my weekend? I took off Thursday because I had no voice which doesn't work for teachers. I don't work Fridays because part-time. My mom, who watches O, called this morning to say she has a stomach bug.
It is nap time so I should maybe do something productive but here I am.

I was supposed to have my anatomy scan with the MFM in the morning and then my normal OB appointment in the afternoon on Wednesday, but my OB called on Friday to reschedule for Thursday morning and then the MFM called today to reschedule also for Thursday. Now, I go to the MFM at 2:15 and then immediately to the OBs for my appointment. So, I had to scramble to figure out childcare for Thursday for the toddler and to make sure that there would be someone to get the big kid off the bus on Thursday afternoon in case I'm not home in time. Plus, H can't get Thursday, so he's taking a long lunch to be able to go with me to the anatomy scan, but not to the OB's for the overall results. Just one big headache. I like to keep things on Wednesdays because he's off then.

Hope everyone feels better, jessila. tinyjoys, that sucks that it got rescheduled. The last time my husband was going to go to my appointment, my OB had to reschedule at the last minute and he couldn't take off work for the new time. I hope it works out for you all.

My husband is finally back in town! I realized while he was gone how many little comfort things he does. Like if I'm craving something, he'll go out and get it. Or if he hears me throwing up, he'll bring me a glass of water and rub my back.
Although, he did bail on the Christmas parade due to jet lag and that was rough with DS trying to run into the street to grab things (southern parade-they throw beads, candy, toys). But I managed and I'm just happy he's back.

Just work today. My BFF loaned me a bunch of her sweaters that she wore when pregnant, so I'm pretty much set that way until it starts to warm up again, when I'll probably just be doing tank tops and a cardigan if it's cooler. All I need now is some pants, which we're going to go see about getting on Thursday.
Beyond that, nothing big this week, just work work and more work. I'm pretty much done working on the presents for the grandparents and I'm waiting on money owed to get my brothers gift together. BIL can wait until next week, but I need to send off my families presents to make sure they get there in time.
Oh, and I've officially started on my "pregnancy diet" as MH calls it, lol. He's super into nutrition and wants to make sure that baby and I are as healthy as possible

My H got me a new hairdryer for Christmas and it should be here any day. I'm more excited about this than I should be.
Tomorrow I'm taking PTO to visit an animal sanctuary and I'm really looking forward to it.
I went to my oldest's school dance recital this morning and when it was time to leave he said, "work is sad. Trying to leave is like escaping jail!"
Truer words, kid.

Ugh, my right hip hurts so bad. It comes and goes but I feel like this is a bad sign for the next many, many months. I'm not even 15w. Boo.

I'm not sure if it's okay during pregnancy but maybe you could try Salon Pas gel? I have a shoulder that's bothered me on and off for a year and that gives me a huge amount of relief when it acts up.

My sciatica was acting up big time today, but I also feel that I probably overdid it at work I have to remember to sit down a little more often I think.

robot hopefully it will come and go. My left hip used to basically dislocate itself when I was pregnant with DD1 so I was freaking out when it started getting sore and clicking again recently but this week it’s fine. Hopefully it’s not a constant worry for the next 25 weeks for you!

I have my NT scan tomorrow and I am a nervous wreck. Like I seriously don't remember being this anxious during my first pregnancy. DH is coming with me.

@lorddissick lol, it's really not that bad XD he did some reading and I adjusted based on what I know. He actually really wants to become a nutritionist :-) it's got me eating 3 meals and 3 snacks a day which is good for my nausea, and it's got lots of protein and iron from food sources so I won't have to supplement them.

It might be I erased this from my brain but I definitely do not remember this happening this early last time. Of course I also have a belly the size that I did at 20w last time already so that could have something to do with it...

Anyone had a VBAC or trying this time?
My good friend had her second baby last night. She was induced: waters were broken and 1 hour 40 mins later baby was here. Soooo jealous.
With DD1, I laboured for 26 hours then they noticed her heart rate was dropping and uneven so they did an emergency c section. She had turned posterior during labour and her chin was stuck on my pelvis so natural labour just couldn’t happen. I had dilated to 10 and was pushing by the time they called it quits and did the surgery.
I was really disappointed. My recovery from c section was ok, although I got a strep B infection 10 days after birth which sucked.
So I was pretty much resigned to an elective c section this time. I spoke to my OB about it and he agreed as she was so small, it is likely the same thing could happen again so if I tried for a VBAC I could have complications and distress the baby. Fair enough, I’m not here to play risks.
But I’m so wishful that maybe it could be different this time and like my friend I could do it quickly and naturally. It has me second guessing my decision a bit.
Sorry for the long post. Just wondering if anyone else has had to make the decision and how you made peace with it.
I guess I’d just love to avoid the long recovery and try to go more natural.

adeline, I don't have any personal anecdotes but I do know my friends who had emergency c sections with their firsts who have had repeat c sections with subsequent babies said they are so much easier and faster to recover from and they had a much more positive experience. I hope that's your experience if you go that route. I sit on your stupidly long labor bench though. I am definitely jealous when I hear about short labors, especially with first babies.

I feel like everything gets bigger faster and things definitely hurt earlier with each successive pregnancy. I have had SPD starting up this time since around 13 weeks.

Ugh, my right hip hurts so bad. It comes and goes but I feel like this is a bad sign for the next many, many months. I'm not even 15w. Boo. My hips and pelvis have been a mess. I usually use a heating pad under my hip when I lay down and read before going to bed, and sleeping with my pregnancy pillow or another pillow between my legs helps keep my hips in a better position while I sleep so that they bother me less during the day. Hope you can find relief soon!

adeline I also had a long labor that ended in an emergency c section. I've decided to do a RCS. One thing my doctor told me that really influenced this decision was that I have a very narrow birth canal and would need to have a smaller baby to attempt a VBAC. DS was 6lb. I've also heard it's a totally different experience have a RCS that is much easier than what we went through. But I hope either way you find peace with whatever way you decide. Remember that you did what you needed to do last time to get your DD here safely.

OB intake appointment today. Not looking forward to being weighed. But I'll get an ultrasound. Just hoping it doesn't take 2 hours.

I'm not a big bag of fun to be around lately. My DH was gone for 7 weeks, and has been home for 2.5. He has to leave again this week and will be gone until February. I had scheduled my anatomy scan for 19 weeks so he could actually be there, but now he will miss it.
I'm used to it, but it's just hard to do everything. Working full time, having a toddler, being pregnant. I'm exhausted.
