What do your kids wear for jackets in the car? I got C a nice warm lightweight puffer but the zipper broke. I'd like something he could wear both in and out of the car. I asked on GD but most people have their kids wear a fleece in the car then put on the coat. J wears a north face puffer and it squashes under the seatbelts. I'm probably doing it wrong. I worry more about the shell huge jackets that don't compress. It seems warm.

@klongoria how scary! Glad she's doing all right wedding I just bought a similar coat to what trtlcrzy posted at Carter's - on super sale - for Ben. I keep it unzipped and pullit back a bit so the straps are still snug against him. S has a fairly think hand ms down that I do the same thing, but I almost bought him the same gap one just cuz I don't love the look of his.

Thanks to everyone for their Christmas feedback. I think I will incorporate some of what was suggested and see what resonates with him. Definitely will be lighting the menorah and playing the dreidel. And giving him something from Santa on Christmas. I just don't want him to feel left out and I'm sure I'm over thinking it! snoopmommymom, I know your H is Muslim, how are you raising the kids (if you don't mind me asking)

So on the topic of Santa/ holiday traditions. I went out for drinks with my volleyball team tonight and one of my teammates has 3 kids, oldest is 5, and has never taught her kids about Santa. And not for religious regions, just that they don’t want to lie to their kids. So this oldest knows Santa doesn’t bring gifts, that they are from mom and dad. They still visit Santa, but just know he doesn’t bring them gifts.
Theirs no real point to this, other than I found it very interesting and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. The parents grew up with Santa, but just decided not to carry on the tradition with their kids.

MH wanted to start sending O to the mosque for Sunday School but i said he’s still too young. FYI: O is obsessed with Christmas so i definitely wanted to do Santa and other holiday traditions with him, regardless of what religion he will identify with later on. He really has no clue about religion but can tell you all about Santa so we just go with it. Ask me again how that’s working out when my MIL arrives to visit on Christmas!

slenle I've always thought it was weird when people don't do Santa solely for the "lying" reason. I tell my kids that broccoli is yummy, that the extra 10 minutes they asked for at the park has passed when it's only been 4 minutes, that if they don't brush well their teeth will turn yellow and fall out...they are well-adjusted. I think it's great to overall want to be open and honest with your kids, but I think there are healthy limits to that.

So scary @klongoria. I wish your mom a speedy recovery. I'm impressed at her quick thinking as well as remembering her license plate. I've had my car for 5 years and for the life of me could not tell you my plate numbers.

I ruined Christmas for my best friend when we were 6.. pretty sure her mom still holds a grudge about it. Lol.

The letters to remember when having a stroke are TPA. It's a powerful clot buster and really can save your life. You have to get it within a certain time of having the stroke, otherwise it will be too late.

wedding, I have Josie and Charlie in the Northface fleeces. If I know they're going to be playing outside, I just throw a jacket in the car. I've been actually debating leaving one at school for Josie. The fleece seems like enough protection to walk from the warm house to the warm car or vice versa Like someone else mentioned above, I keep two blankets in the car for them.

In the mornings I take them in their pjs, which are normally fleece but I also wrap them in a blanket they each sleep with to get from the warm house to the warm car. I don't do coats of any kind in the carseats. Just a hoodie if it's needed. But I hate wearing a coat in the car so I always heat it up before we leave and have their jackets in the car if we need them where we're going. wedding If I forget to heat up the car and his seat is cold, Matthew tells me I put him in the wrong one lol.
