I'm exhausted. At DS1's therapist now then grabbing a pizza and taking him to family math night at his school. This week is grades 3-5 so I get to do it again next week with DD for K-2 math night.

Labs were fine. There was a protein that was elevated but he didn’t think it was anything to worry about right now since she hasn’t been sick in a couple weeks. We’re supposed to keep up with the miralax and follow up in Feb.

I've been keeping caught up all afternoon but I don't think I actually checked in myself. So, hi! Chase woke up warm enough to notice but not enough to worry about keeping him home, but I gave him some motrin in case his ears were bugging him since they were so sensitive in the MOTN last night. He's so congested but at least he doesn't have much of a cough yet. It's going to be a long cold and flu season with that one. Colin only woke up wet once in this past last week! I'm hoping this isn't just a fluke because he's so proud of himself. He's still being crazy at times (he's also a frustrated screamer) but he's also starting to show noticeable signs of maturity here and there, which is so cool. He's also learning about opposites at school lately, and he'll start reciting examples for me when he's waking up, doing art, sitting in the car, etc. I like to jump in with a word and ask him its opposite, and he's now quizzing me back. It's just so cool to see how excited he is about learning, especially since I was similar as a young kid.

snoopmommymom I asked the gastroenterologist & my pedi about the study you told me about. They both said it was nonsense. Today he went into more detail about how the miralax isn’t even absorbed into your system and how the 25 families that complained about the issues had children with several other problems.

Oh my. I was added to an anti vax group (without my permission) and wow those people are extra nuts. And stupid. They don't seem to know the difference between a Vitamin K shot and a vaccine. Here's a couple gems from this morning: "My completely unvaccinated eight month-old has an ear infection. How is this possible?" What?! Why would one have anything to do with the other you ignoramus? Here's another: "all my friends who have had babies recently are pro-vax and I'm not saying I want something bad to happen to their babies but I'm wondering how long before they realize I'm the expert and they will learn the truth." Sick individual with a savior complex. This is...terrifying. These people are breeding. And voting. And driving.

I do like the ideas about decorating for "winter". Although even though I logically know the tree is pagan, I still feel weird about having one in my house. But I can definitely do some fun snowflake stuff. And maybe I'll have a gift left at my friend's house from Santa for him. Like even though we Santa knows we don't celebrate, he know that you would be here and you were good this year so he left this for you.

jewels you could also give a present just from you. A winter gift, because they are such good kids . We’re not religious and Santa isn’t really a thing here, but i got a personalised wooden tool box in Sweden for both kids and a soft doll that we’ll put under the tree, they’ll know it’s from us.

jewels we dropped the reward chart for a while and recently started back with it. The girls really like it. I like the idea of a little special gift from you. I don't think you should do anything you're not comfortable with. If a tree is not your thing skip it.

Maybe this will sound silly but you could just make up a character? Like a polar bear or Reindeer or some Arctic dwelling magical animal that brings gifts?

Just catching up. I broke a piece off the tail light of our suv when i hit it trying to load a table in the back. I was trying to help my boss’ assistant move offices. MH is going to be pissed because he warned me not to use our suv. I swear, whenever i try to do a good deed it blows up in my face. Why is that?!

I was worried about it too and was going to ask the doctor about culturelle regularity packs instead. But now j just poops his pants at school, so looks like we are over the withholding stage..and now onto pooping whenever. I'm going to try pullups all the time tomorrow and he can have underwear back if he starts going in the bathroom. Why is poop such an ordeal😤

@73jewels I think you should do whatever you’re comfortable. I follow the home edit on instagram. Both of the girls (they are professional organizers) are Jewish. But one of them puts up a tree in her house, listens to Christmas carols and watches Christmas movies because it brings her joy. If you wanted to start celebrating part of Christmas (or not) I think that’s cool. Honestly, about 10% of Christmas is about Christ nowadays, I feel like. The tree, santa, reindeer and presents have nothing to do with Jesus.

We put up a tree this year and MH actually says he likes it. Yay for Muslims taking part in secular Christmas.

I totally get it being weird about the Christmas tree in the house. The great thing about doing winter is that there is no timeline so you can do stuff whenever . I think the Santa present a friend's is a good idea if you are ok with it.

Not sure what is in the book but seems less Christmasy

What do your kids wear for jackets in the car? I got C a nice warm lightweight puffer but the zipper broke. I'd like something he could wear both in and out of the car. I asked on GD but most people have their kids wear a fleece in the car then put on the coat.

wedding we do a fleece jacket or sweatshirt. If it's really cold, I keep a blanket in the car as well. So far, we haven't had cold weather that requires more, but I'll probably just put her heavy coat in the car to put on when we get out. I also park in the garage, so my car is about 60 degrees when we leave.

They are thin so they don’t effect the seatbelt fit but the filling is very warm. Here is a link to the boy version (not sure what size C wears but it comes in toddler and kid sizes) www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1087508&pcid=1016108&vid=1&pid=839423022Also, I only buy on sale at gap.

Not sure if this needs a TW or not....
Right after my last post my Aunt called that my mom was in the ER. They are pretty sure she had a stroke, but we're able to get the TPA to her quickly and she was already talking and getting movement back in her limbs when I got to the hospital. They transferred her to another hospital with a better neurology department. When I left they were about to give her an MRI and ultrasound of her heart to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. Her CT scans came back clear.
She was cleaning a house by herself and felt dizzy, so she sat down. When she stood back up she felt super dizzy and laid on the bed. She remembered the door was locked, so she crawled to the door to unlock it and called an ambulance. She couldn't remember the address, so she had to describe the area and house and gave them her license plate number since her car was parked up front. She couldn't move at all by the time they got to her. Super scary, but quick thinking on her part.
She'll be in the hospital a few days, but is already saying she wants to go home to her dogs. That her brother can't take care of them right and they hate him. LOL

@73jewels my godparents are Jewish so I grew up with Hanukkah and Christmas. At first it was odd but now it seems normal. They are definitely not super religious. They have a menorah and had me play the dreidel. We would sing the song too. Just find what makes you comfortable. Maybe do a menorah and the 8 gifts. Sorry if this isn't much help.
