I figured I had gained about 2 lbs, but my weight is totally all over the place. When I stepped on the scale this morning, I'm only up a half a pound. Which is fine, I'm already overweight so my doctor only wants me to gain 15-20 lbs. But man, my belly is popping just enough that I can't wear any of my pants lol.

Had an appointment today and it took a long time to find the heartbeat. I was starting to worry a bit. But it was there. What a beautiful sound!!!

Some friends and I tried finding the heartbeat with a fetal monitor a couple of times and couldn't, but I keep reminding myself that it took a long time to find at the OB office and we're less experienced. I have an appointment on Friday and if I really wanted to, I could use an ultrasound machine (although I'm not sure how to use it to look for a baby). But I'm definitely feeling some kicks today!

Oh something else to share, DS told me last night that, "Mommy wobbles like a penguin." Lol

I mentioned in last week's ransoms that I have strep throats and was hoping that since DD was at my parents all last weekend she wouldn't get it too. Well, guess who has strep? DD and DH both now have it.
Poor DH spent 2 hrs at urgent care last night with DD (couldn't call her led since daycare didn't call me until 4-but said she wasn't acting like herself all day which slightly aggravated me).

kookie3631 I hope your H and DD feel better soon. Strep is the worst!

I'm telling work this week about the pregnancy. I bet I could wear big shirts and hide it more, but it's hard not to slip up and say things.
We have a normal week this week and fun holiday activities for the weekend. We took the boys out to see some lights and they were screaming with delight for even the simplest displays.

So this is going to make me sound like the most ungrateful brat but last night we got a text from MIL to save the date because they bought tickets for me, H, and DD (and them) to go see Disney on Ice. I am so upset. First of all, we were planning to take her we just needed to wait a little bit to purchase the tickets since we just spent a boatload of money on Christmas gifts for everyone, including DD. Second, they didn't even ask our permission, they just went ahead a bought the tickets. I'm salty because I wanted to experience this with her alone. It's her first time ever doing anything big and I don't want them to be a part of it. My IL's mean well but they are very strong personalities and are super pushy. For example, on Mother's day this year we all went to an animal park and FIL kept taking DD and wandering off. I was so pissed off because it was MY day and he didn't have a right to keep "stealing" her like that. I wanted to enjoy the park with her. The background on our relationship with my IL's is very lengthy but includes a lot of my H getting treated poorly. So I realize that that influences how I feel about them but still....I can't help but just be annoyed with the whole situation.
Sorry for the dear diary, just needed to vent.

bebbysue I get it. My ILs overstep their bounds a lot and always buy things without asking (among other annoying things). I totally get wanting to do it on your own and experience it for yourselves.

Thank you. It's nice to have someone get where I'm coming from. I was venting to my sister last night and she basically told me I'm just being a bitch and she wishes that someone would pay for tickets for her kids to go see it. She was totally missing the point.

Yes. It’s possible to be incredibly grateful and also incredibly annoyed simultaneously. It describes pretty much my entire relationship with my in-laws.

My four year-old is driving me crazy. I don't know what his deal is but I'm very ready for him to snap out of this screaming and throwing phase. It's a nightmare.
I need to find time to run over to the lab to get my second tri blood work done in the next couple days.

I'm just full of downers so instead I'm going to share a cute story of DS (2). One of his teacher's is pregnant and due in a few weeks. Yesterday I was talking to him about how she has a baby in her belly and it's going to be born soon (and subsequently she'll be gone for a while). I said "I bet it's going to be cute!" and DS looks at me and says "Mommy want a cute baby?".... I died.

I’ve mentioned before that we’re building our home. Well, it’s a big project because we bought a small traditional timber home built in 1930 and decided to raise it and extend the back and build in underneath. So it’s been a long road. But this morning I got to visit the site and see the polished concrete floor downstairs and the kitchen and laundry installed. It’s coming together and I’m so fricking excited!! One, to get out of our rental and enjoy having our own home again, and two, to see all of our ideas and choices from the last 2 years of planning coming together. So exciting!!!

adeline, that sounds so awesome - when will it be done? It’s only about 5 weeks off, but because of the Christmas shutdown period we won’t get to move in until mid-February. So I’m excited to enjoy the Christmas break then be on the home stretch! Never been more excited to pack and move. And I want to start setting up DD’s big girl room and the baby’s nursery!

My feet are swollen?! How are my feet already swollen? It isn't even hot out. They aren't really swollen, H claims he can't tell, but they look a little swollen.

Ugh, 2nd night in a row with bad nausea. I think it's because I didn't eat earlier and took a nap, so now I'm trying to get down some chicken noodle soup. Must remember to eat something when I get home!

cagoldi I am just now remembering that yes, my 4 year old had a bad case of the fours after the birthday. I'm guessing it lasted a couple months, but it definitely passed and now I barely remember it. I hope for your sake you guys are on the "almost done" part and it will soon be a distant memory.

Hi guys! I've been terrible about checking in here. It's the busy season at work, so I'm working late and them am pretty drained when I get home.
Things are going well. I am out about being pregnant, which is good because I'm showing super early like I did with ds. I worked in a small office before, so everyone knew each step of my IVF. This tome I'm at a much larger company, so I've already started to have to say again and again yes I'm pregnant and explain I'm a gestational carrier. I've learned most people do not know how to react to that statement 😂

I had my NT ultrasound today. I have a bicornuate uterus (uterus is split in half, shaped like a V). And my doctor told me the baby was in the right side like my other two pregnancies. Turns out he/she is in the left according to the US tech.. H and I joked that he's going to have to make sure during the c-setion that the doctor is cutting into the right place and not, like, my leg or chest, just in case she is rusty on her anatomy. But seriously..either my doctor or the US tech is wrong..and I'm a little dismayed with the rookie mistake someone made.

Hopefully future ultrasounds or even HB checks can help to make certain for you.

Anyone have any idea of why my left hip would go numb? It's been happening more and more over the past few weeks and it's disconcerting to feel what feels like the bone go numb

Went to see some Christmas lights tonight; DS (2.5) was thrilled. I’m hoping it’s the nudge DH needed to actually get our Christmas stuff down from the attic like we’ve been talking about for two weeks.
Zofran is helping but I’m still throwing up most of the evening. Really really hoping moving into second tri helps.
