I'm struggling to decide what to do with T and preschool. He goes 8:30-3 everyday because I was working. Now that I'm home, I feel like I want some time with him but I can't decide how to cut it back. 8:30-11:30 is academic time, then lunch, nap, and free play. I can't decide if I leave him 5 half days or maybe 3 full ones. Half is annoying because I won't be able to have a long stretch of time for the baby to nap because I have to pick the other 2 up at 3:20 but full seems like a waste for me to have him asleep anyway. He's staying full time through December at least so when I'm in the hospital he has somewhere comfortable to be.

Dropped Cadence off at school then went to the store. Got everything I need to make a pumpkin pie, pecan pie, sweet potatoes, and 4 bean salad. Got home and realized we are out of foil, which I'll need. Mh and I are going to the movies at 1230, so I'll pick some up after. My house looks like a toy store exploded and I know as soon as I clean it, it will just explode again. I leave Friday to go up to my Dad's. I'm going to bring back his Christmas dishes and maybe some of his Christmas house collection and family ornaments.

Morning! I'm hoping to sneak out of work early today. I'm sure it's going to be quiet.
We're heading to my parents tonight for a bit and then back there tomorrow for thanksgiving. They want us to stay over night since both my brothers will be there, but we live 15 minutes away so I'd much rather sleep in my own bed. I'm sure they will throw a fit about it.
I still can't figure out why my finger is swollen. I do think it's just my ring finger tho, the others seem fine. I'm wondering if I jammed it without noticing? I just want to wear my rings! My blood pressure is also a higher than normal but I'm assuming that's from my head cold.

T&P to all heading to the store today. I might shop late tonight (around 11) after arriving in Oregon because I was going to make breakfasts for the long weekend. I found several yummy breakfast casserole recipes. Congrats on a little girl chrisy01! I see a lot of Bippity Bobbity Boutique visits in your future. I packed the girls clothes last night and part of mine this morning. I'll finish quickly when I get off work so I can get out of here and hit the road. I asked MH to get the Kindles charged up this morning and he was saying it doesn't really matter, they haven't used the Kindles much at all the past few weeks. I reminded him that's because they haven't been trapped in a car for 3+ hours and that I don't want to listen to them the whole way. He came to his senses then.

FFWC: I already decorated. I need to put up my wreath and my reindeers outside, but the rest is done. We did it early because we needed to clear our storage area to put up wall board, but I love having everything done already so it may become a thing. I am at work. Bored. Hoping to get out early. C has his Thanksgiving feast at school and DH and I both have to work and my parents are busy preparing for tomorrow. C was pretty upset when I told him we couldn't come. I really hate stuff like that though. I feel like it is a ploy to get you to pick your kid up early before a holiday and the kids whose parents have to work the full day feel left out. I'm one of 5 parents that RSVP-ed No. That sucks. I'm glad C's school doesn't do that. Probably because it's a daycare center/preschool. People clearly need it as childcare!

It's so funny that you mention that. I see a marked difference in the days that Josie goes outside to play. She's exhausted, but much calmer. And I've been pleasantly surprised that they still take them out in 40° weather. I don't know what their cut off is, but I'm hoping as long as there's no snow on the ground or rain, they keep doing it. We send snow pants and boots so they can go out in the snow as well! It's going to be about -5 here today and I fully expect that they take the kids out. My cut off would be -15(ish) without wind, if it's windy it makes it super cold so obviously that'd be a no.

Morning! I came into my office this morning to a horrible smell. I finally found the source...dead mouse in the trash can. We have a 3 hour early release today...but I may slip out earlier. I still need to go to the store to pick up a few things and I would like to do it without the kid in tow.

I know people (some probably on this board) that want a coat/sweater if it hits 65*. But to me that feels perfect. I would totally wear short sleeve or 3/4 sleeves in that weather. But I have to say, anything below 20* feels miserable to me! I bet the thought of -5 has our Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Cali ladies shivering just thinking about it! Lol!

Yes, it's cold here but we all survive and make the best of it. You are doing the conversion right? The temps I said are Celsius not Fahrenheit, so I think -5C is about 26F.

Brr...that's just what I was thinking (even in the NW) but then I read the update and forgot about the US being the only backwards country that doesn't use Celsius. The 20s makes it just a teensy tiny bit more tolerable, not I'm-putting-on-my-favorite-tee-and-flip-flops weather, but tolerable when really bundled up.

kim22 I think I would take him 3 full days. I think free play is important and fun! It would be a shame if he’d miss the ‘fun’ part of school every day. Plus it’ll be easier for you and the baby.

When S was born I kept H in full time daycare for 3 weeks and I was grateful for that because then I could nap during the day when I wasn’t getting much sleep at night. Plus he will have kids to play with instead of sitting around with a baby all day. Maybe do MWF full days and then T/TH half days?

It’s 26 degrees here today. “Real feel” is 13. It sucks but definitely not bundle up as much as you can weather.

It was so nice to have a full day with just the baby so I could snuggle her and get laundry and such done. Plus, I think it was good for him to stay in routine. On our full days together we had more time to do stuff without rushing around everywhere.

Is anyone else decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving? I feel like sneaked up on me this year, and I can't imagine pulling everything out tomorrow. Yes, that's our plan.

I was thinking about how cold 26 degrees sounded and feeling bad for vino, then I checked the weather and realized it's 30 degrees here today. It doesn't feel TOO bad. We're thinking about doing a 5k tomorrow morning and I'm sure it'll feel so cold then. I don't even want to check what the temp will be.

I toyed with pulling S out during leave, but ultimately I am glad I did not. His routine is important, and I got some time alone with the baby which was nice. He had too much energy to lounge around with the baby most of the time.
I second the other suggestion of a few full days, if you can afford to keep him in for that. It gives you some "baby time" and gets his energy out!!

She was hungry but happy, until she realized she had to drink more yucky medicine. They didn’t see any blockages though and no reflux. The dr is going to review the images again on his computer but he didn’t see anything while we were there.

So question for you guys... MH has a stomach bug. He woke up sick yesterday morning and stayed in bed all day. He was able to keep toast down this morning (first thing he's been able to eat) and I just asked him how he felt. His answer "My stomach feels very tender and bloated."
We are supposed to host Thanksgiving tomorrow. He is the "cook" in our family. I make the side dishes. Would you cancel Thanksgiving, or hope that he's enough better tomorrow to make the Turkey and to host? I feel like I need to make the decision now so I give people enough time to Plan B. Oh, we are having 5 adults and 2 kids (plus our family of 4) if that matters.
