My hands have been oddly swollen the last few days. Like, can't get my rings off and on swollen. I've never had this before and I don't know what it's from. On sunday, I assumed it was from drinking all weekend but they are still swollen this morning. I've been trying to drink a lot of water. Could having a cold make my hands swollen? Any tip to reduce it? Just took some ibuprofen so maybe that will help. Google tells me the cold can cause this. Also obvious things like too much salt, exercise, ect. Also stress. They suggest: -Exercise your swollen fingers. Move your fingers around pump excess fluid back to the heart. ... -Elevate your hands and fingers. ... -Rub your swollen fingers. ... -Wear compression gloves. ... -Limit salt in your diet. ... -Maintain a moderate temperature in your home or office. ... -Take medications. I hope it gets better, how annoying!

But yes, my hands were suuuuper swollen at the end of my pregnancy with N. But I did just stop my BC. Maybe it's hormonal? And they definitely haven't been warmer than normal, it's freezing here and usually my rings are loose in the winter.

I think Coco looks awful. A movie about the dead complete with skeleton characters. No. Terrible. The Star looks funny though. Rotten tomatoes rates Coco pretty high and The Star only so-so. And L might get a kick out of skeletons. Or he might be terrified especially since it's going to ne his first time at the movies. I like the idea of Star but the reviews have me second guessing. I guess for me it's not about the ratings, they're 4, it's about what the movie is about. B would be terrified of the skeletons and I'd be fielding questions about death for a month. No thank you ma'am.

Morning! I'm working from home since I have to signoff at 4 to bring Colin to his 4 year appointment. DH is still sick, which meant another night in the guestroom for me and solo kiddo duty this morning. Colin was in such a good mood though (possibly over getting 2 gummy vitamins now that he's 4, LOL), it was a pretty easy morning. I'm mentally checked out of work but I've already helped a few people out so I'm not totally useless. I'm just so ready for the holiday and the long weekend!!

No thank you ma'am. Very Good point. I was reading some parent reviews and couldn't get a feel of how detailed they get into the death piece v.s. family history. I realize it's not the same thing but M watches a lot of Elena and we've never had any issues when she watches the episodes that talk about her parents or the ghosts of relatives or dias de los muertos. I think M will like the movie. It definitely depends on the kid though.

It has taken 2hrs to complete 40% of my file download for the day. If I can get this taken care of today I can possibly take tomorrow off. I'm thinking I would rather take Monday off though. But I'm going to meet a friend for lunch in an hour so I have that to look forward to.

Does anyone have a recliner that they love, like, or hate? I am looking for something but not sure if I want to go with cheapest reasonable look or splurge for a power one. I am conflicted on buying one online without sitting in it first.

Sooo, remember that flooding that we got in April....apparently the maintenance guys didn’t repair a pretty major water line that supplies my office. They were able to do something different for the summer, but now that it’s dipping below freezing they have to shut the water off that goes to my office. There is no active plan in place for repair at this time. In other words, I can’t use the bathroom or sink in my office. How is this acceptable?! I am currently awaiting a phone call from the superintendent to find out what the hell the work plan is. I’m partially hoping they say WFH. I only have 3 weeks left till I’m laid off for the winter. But the other part of me kinda needs my office and all my things. I’m thoroughly annoyed. If they tell me I have to drive to one of the other offices an hour away every day I might lose it.
ETA: they also demolished my one office that was destroyed by the flood last week. They were supposed to tell me when they did that so once they started and got it partially opened I could grab a few things that could be salvaged. They didn’t bother to let me know and they hauled it all off for scrap. I hate people today.

Much love to all the sickies. Seems like a lot of people can't get rid of it in some form or another lately. yummeecookee aw! I'm glad you guys had fun. I've always loved Disney but it really is so much more magical through a child's eyes.

mamabear, we're going to see Coco sometime this long weekend. I'm really excited for it and think it will be great. Pixar does big emotions really well. To me Star looks like just another kid's movie that would keep the kids entertained but have me spacing out/playing on my phone. My kids love creepy stuff/skeletons so I know that won't phase them. I also thought of it as more of a cultural movie and supporting a healthy view of death than being creepy/scary. US culture does a really horrible job of dealing with death and while it's not like I think it needs to be on the top of the list of topics to tackle with 4 yos, I think getting exposed to it in small doses here and there can lead to dealing with it better as one gets older.

I’m thinking of taking N to see Coco. Like inthekitty said, Pixar does big emotions really well and I think he needs this aspect of it. With the three family members that have passed away this year and then remembrance day he is clearly having a hard time. The week before Remembrance Day he was in my lap crying because he doesn’t want to die. Broke my heart, I don’t know how to explain it to him any more then I have. Now he asks if Papa will die and goes through the list of family members. He’s worried about it to a point that I’m sure it’s increased his anxiety. 😔

My friend has an electric reclining sofa and it’s kind of a pain. You can’t just hop up, you have to wait for the footrest to go down. I’m sure it’s something you’d get used to though.

Double ear infection and a sinus infection. And you know how you look as bad as you feel? When you walk up the pharmacy counter to ask the wait time and she immediately tells the pharmacists to get it ready. And then dumps a pill in your hand before putting it in the bag..

I've been up since 4:40 for no apparent reason.
Had an OB appointment and I'm about to sign on to do some work.
Scheduled my A/S with the high risk OB and I'll need an extra scan at around 24 weeks since I had those positive titers for Sjogren's and that can cause heart problems for the baby.

Goldi, when is your A/S? Mine is Dec 13! Hopefully all is well with P's heart. I'm slightly nervous for mine because I was on a medicine before I found out I was pregnant that can cause heart defects. I think it will be fune, but it's in the back of my mind.

Day before yours, December 12th. I'm really not concerned, they do it out of an abundance of caution. They had the same concerns with X and everything was fine. Hope everything looks good with your LO. Do they want to do the extra scan/fetal echo or are they just doing the A/S?

Adulting today. Met with a lawyer and getting wills and trusts and all sorts of adult things set up! Only 4 years after becoming parents. Now trying to work from home and hoping MH will pick up the kids since I drove them in.

I work in a cardiology clinic so I may ask someone to do a fetal echo just for fun
